Hi MY NAME IS AMY AND I CONTINUE TO GET THIS CALL SAYING THAT I STILL OWE ON MY CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN PAID OFF OVER A YEAR NOW, AND JUST RECENTLY I BEGIN GETTING PHONE CALLS SAYING THAT I OWE, THE COMPANY THAT I WAS PAYING FOR MY CAR THROUGH NO LONGER EXIST.

If you call the number back it is an actual collection agency but they refuse to answer questions. A man called and said a debt was owed to HBC Co but I know it wasn't and they refused to send me any proof of debt what so ever. Complain to all your local BBB and such about this number! report them to the fraud stopper agencies!

My sister received a phone call from this company who didn't offer to say who they were and they were asking for me.  Yes we have the same last names but as I said these people did NOT identify themselves.  They were very evasive asking careful questions.  Is this really a legit business??

Very rude and demanding person calling my phone!!!  I have no idea who is this person.

I am house sitting and got this guy demanding to talk to the owner who, by the way, is working in the North. I told him the man was away and he got mad at me, shouting at me, telling me I was the person and that I'd hear from him, at which point he hung up. I assume he's trying to collect something but he's doing it in a most unprofessional way. How do I block this creep?

been getting calls on my cell phone for someone that isn't even me...identified themselves as Ontario government.  can not believe the number of times they keep calling.

A collection agency is a company that intervenes to recover money owed by people in debt. Your creditors ? the people to whom you owe money ? pay these agencies to recover the amounts you owe them. If you owe money to a company or a supplier and have not recently sent in your payment, that company or supplier can turn your file over to a collection agency. Here are some useful tips:
?You must be notified in writing that your file has been given to a collection agency. Don't panic. The agency is trying to recover the money you owe its client.
?If possible, pay the amount you owe.
?If you are unable to pay it all at once, contact the agency and explain.
?If you reach an agreement with the agency, get it in writing.
?Never send cash. Make sure that you obtain a receipt for your payment from the agency.

They have been calling me for about a month on and off. I finally decided to call them back and see whats going on. Turns out its not a scam. They are not very polite actually a little rude, but I found out I had a bill of around $60 that I thought I had paid and in actual fact I did not.
So I informed them I would pay it and then i was told to call them back after I did.
For me it was worth to call them back, instead of worrying about who and why someone was calling.

I got a call from them. Threating to take me to court if I don't call them back by the end of the day. I was behind on my visa bill. In the last month I've paid $500 on my bill, and yet they still are calling. My visa account is still active, so I don't know is this a scam? Should I contact them? Or should I contact my visa to see if they did hire a collection company? Wouldn't I have received some letter or document in the mail?

Yes these ppl are bunch of liars.that started calling in jan and still calling me.when u pick up the phone it's from Alberta or from Nova Scotia. I just hear automated voice machine starting the message with my name.the  best part is i dont even have the credit card for which they are calling me for since I became a resident last year of this country. ive tried  government and non government agencies but these just dont stop.i think they are scammers...
A collection should send u a legal documentation abt the debt and so does te creditor.but since u haven't even used or heard abt this credit card I haven't revived any letter from either the bank or the collection agency prior to the calls .
Only thing that is left is that these people are scammers.

This is the worst company, this is a scam. All they want is money from people. I suggest that any companies that have given business to this company pull it out immediatley. The owners all drive nice cars but yet dont have a bank account in their name? The 3 owners are scumbags, I know that the two ceo's have taken their women clients to the hotel across the street and the 3rd one a short guy with a big nose likes to have sex with woman in the parking lot of his workplace. This place is ran by disgusting people and staff and I suggest ANY COMPANY THAT DOES BUSINESS WITH NCR GET OUT OF IT NOW!

Yeah, just another debt-scavenger, shady possible scam.  They buy up bad debt for pennies on the dollar and try to collect on it.

They've called me many times on a debt that was long paid off. I used to take their calls. The calls vary from pleasant and nice to  threatening "we're going to send you these DOCUMENTS and you better take them RIGHT to your LAWYER or we're going to PROCEED with this in the NECESSARY VENUE!!"

Ask them to prove that you owe them money. If they ask for your address, you probably don't. If they really were working with the bank or the store that they claim to "represent," they would know that. If you tell them "I have no problem paying my debts, but I'm not in the habit of just giving money to people who call me out of nowhere and tell me to give them money," they'll usually stutter a bit on that and continue to try to get you to pay them something.

Lots of words like "formal proceedings" and "on behalf of our client." The "office of [insert Jewish-sounding name so if you're a racist you assume he's a lawyer]" and "due to the finding of non-compliance of your contract."  It's all just a big dance around the fact that there is no lawyer, no lawsuit, no court date, no legal anything and I owe them nothing. You probably don't, either.

When you ask them what the "documents" are, they tell you it's a list of your debts... repeated requests to send these "documents" to me resulted in them not sending anything but calling me three days later threatening to "take the appropriate actions."  

"When I asked them what the "appropriate actions" were, I actually got the answer of "you don't even want to know what we could accuse you of."

So the answer is "nothing."

I finally got this supposed "document" (I gave them a rented mailbox that I'd been using for eBay exchanges). It looked like something your dad could do in MS Word in about 3 minutes using a template with information that ANYONE with access to the internet could get in about 15 minutes. Essentially just a print of a couple defaulted store cards from the 90s when I was in college. Both written off.


Now I ignore them.

NCR is a Collection agency. I don't think they are scam. My Premium fitness payments were due. I was back home country and they left messages on the phone. I called them back to check the reason of their call and cleared my dues.

They call and threaten legal action, pretending to be 'legal agents'. If you ask questions about the debt, start calling you names and saying they will send  a bailiff to your house. Thoroughly unprofessional and running a shady establishment.  Called me in regards to a premier fitness debt and told me to call a head office, which has no contact number.

I just received the same message from 905-366-3483 and seems it is a scam. The message stated that is an NCR filed again me and that I should call back imediatelly otherwise they will proceed with action.

Got a call from this number on a business line no clue how they got this number as we are a cash based business...

Making claims that a company is a scam based on your personal opinion is silly at best.

Research the name with the BBB or any government agency and it shows clearly who they are.

I base things on facts real companies have to be registered and licensed with the government.

NCRI - National Credit Recovery is BROKE. They operate a trust accpount and yet seem to be overdrawn on it ALL The time. Creditor to the Company arent being paid, staff of the company arent being paid either... This company is a scam!!!

I use skype for my landline even though it is a USA number they still call me all the time, I figured out that in Skype you can BLOCK the number.

They know my name in the recorded message and call at all hours - now they are zapped

Must be a scam
