It is AMEX and it's not telemarketing.  It could be any call on your account - for example re: a letter they sent you on an increase.

Finally picked up the call.  AMEX wanting to increase limit on card.

It is American Express.  A few days ago they sent me a letter notifying me that I was eligible for a credit increase, and that I could call them or use their website to accept the office.  Today they called me (didn't answer) and left a voicemail saying the same thing.  They asked for me to call the number on the back of my card if I was interested in the offer.

Seems legitimate, but annoying.

It IS AMEX, it is the credit department due to a past due amount.

I am going through a debit program (due to my ex hanging me out to dry) and I've told AMEX this, they have legal paperwork sent to them (with signature required via my lawyer) and they still call!!

It's so annoy because they claim to have no idea that this process of a consumer proposal has been started, yet I have been assured there is documentation on my accout regarding this from a "manager".

They call to the point of harassment, I will be reporting it to the CRTC tomorrow, there are times that they can call & how often & a call @ 9:12AM, 9:50Am, 10:34AM, 1:41PM today as well as calls starting @ 8AM yesterday (and every 1/2 hour until 11AM) are 100% harassment!!

Even if I answer & am polite and explain the situation they continue to call!!!

First call I hung up after no response to my hello.  I let voice mail pick up second call.  AMEX offer to increase credit limit.

Just recived a call from this number on my cell. Called AMEX's 1-800 # and they said they had been calling to give me a credit line increase.

I do not have an amex, never have. They have called me five or more times in the last few days. usually very early in the morning. awful!

How terribly UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE!!!  I answered my phone after two rings and was hung up on.  Great way to do business.  If this really is AMEX, I'm cancelling my card TODAY.  I refuse to do business with discourteous jerks!!!

We keep getting calls from this nuber as well, about eight. No speaking or even background noises. Kinda really creepy.

They have called maybe half a doz. times in the last week, no message, then the last call they said they keep calling and leaving me messages...

I checked it out & it is Amex looking for money or something like that.

I got a call on my cell from 905-474-8320. When I picked up the phone and said hello, the other end simply just hang up on me without answering a word. I called back at this number, it was AMEX.

lol @ the idiots saying your card could be compromised.  Those are collections agents leaving those replies to encourage you to call them.

This call is for one thing and one thing only, you missed a payment.

They called me 5 times in 20 minutes.... and I do not have an Amex card, so I'm not sure why they keep calling!

DO NOT want this caller calling my cell. Its constant... 4 times in the past 5 mins? no message either.  Ridiculous.

I recieved 2 calls from the number with no message left, over the course of a day. I took the initiative and called the number back and got American Express.  The person was pleasant and helpful.

Amex-called incessantly on the cell and on home phone number--when I checked cell voice mail suddenly the long distance operator was telling me my call was being put through at L.D. rates--didn't even get to hear the 'voice message'--pretty ratty!!!

Yes, it's AMEX collections in my case and they've called 6 times in one hour and don't leave messages.

I had three phone calls 15 minutes apart starting at 0815 hrs on Fri 18 Jun 10.  The caller asked for someone I don't know.

These people are relentless.  They would get a whole lot further if they would leave a message!!!

I REFUSE to answer an unidentified caller.  Hence - The above 1 800 #.
