They have been calling my house several times a week for 4 - 5 months asking for someone who does not live here (and whom I do not know).  When I say that no one by that name lives here, the caller starts harassing with question after question as to why the person for whom they are calling would list my phone number, etc.  When I ask to speak to a supervisor I am told no.  When I asked for the name of the company and address the caller said it was Global International Collections located in Willingsville, NY.  There is no town in NY called Willingsville.

This is how I handle third party collection agencies with "honor." Pay close attention to this remedy!  
I have learned not to hide but to stand up to these "bullies" with respect and honor. They are only carring out the nasty task, at their menial J.O.B, of taking people's money for the global machine.
If you go to a lawyer then "they" will "take" your money!  End the scam here...now!

I received a message a couple of days ago from a "Felicia" with "Global", sounding very business like, saying that she has an important matter to discuss with me and for me to call her back @ 1-866-277-1877 ext. 6896. Today I answered a call from this number: 905-480-9108. It was "Felicia" requesting to speak to so-and-so.  I then proceeded to ask for her last name, her phone number, her address and told her I would call her back once I could identify who she was and why she was calling me. Sure enough (google is a beautiful thing) I found that it is a collection agency:

I gathered my thoughts, called the first number that she left on the message which was the number that she repeated when I spoke to her on the phone. The following words are what I politely delivered:

"Hello Felicia, I am returning your call from (phone number they reached me at), I do not know you, nor can I identify who you are with the information you gave me. I do not do business nor discuss any private matters over the phone with someone I do not know and cannot identify. You are hereby notified to only communicate with me or whoever you are trying to "contract" with in writing.  Thank you, have a nice day."

If and/or when I receive something in the mail, I again will respond "politely" and in "honor", informing "said third party collector" that I conditionally accept their offer if they can provide a bonifide certificate of claim that I "contracted" business with them.  Since I never "signed" a "contract" with "said third party collector" I have no business with them and vice versa.

Have recvd multiple rude, harrassing phone calls from this company demanding immediate response and information about a person that has never lived here.  Several calls in a day sometimes. Thankfully, have let all messages go to voxmail as number not recognized.  Being tired of being yelled at per messages, decided to check them out before personally speaking to them to try to correct them.Thank you for all of your good info.  I will followup on reporting them.

this is a debt collection company. your complaints must be directed to the   federal trade comission    1-877- 382-4357. Not the  FCC as David stated. The FCC is for complaints against soliciation calls and practices. With that said I filed a complaint against Global due to repatitive calls for a family member that doesn't live here. The rude behavior is the worst I've ever experienced. Keep reporting!!!!!

it is a  debt collection company by Capital One.  They will call anyone and everyone to get a hold of you. I know a person that owed and they called their mom to get a hold of them.  Their mom is 70 years old. They called cell phones and house. They even did a search on the internet to find the closes person living by them and called them.

calls repeatedly day and night.  Threatens to bring legal action against me if I don't call them back!  Sick of it!!!

They are a debt collection company that is being used by Capital One.  After 6-8 months of nonpayment the account was sold to them or being serviced by them...

They were fairly polite as far as debt collectors go - unfortunately I've had the opportunity to meet a few in the past year...

These people and three other numbers starting abruptly calling me non-stop last weekend, and they haven't stopped. I tried being polite and telling them that I don't know the person they are looking for, yet the just keep calling, all looking for the same person.

It is illegal for people to make ANY harassing phone calls for debt collection, even if it is the right person. I will be reporting them to Sprint and to my state's Attorney General. I doubt it will do anything, but you never know. If anyone makes any progress, please update the thread.

I have reported this company to the CA State Attorney General's office because someone keeps calling my place of work.  Although I stated "According to section 805 of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I know my rights.  This is my place of work not my personal line.  If you continue calling me here I can lose my job and I will report you".   The gentleman argued with me and said he was above the law.  I spoke with my bankruptcy attorney and said the law is on our side.   Yes, this is DebtCollection.net

They are RUDE.  They guy calls me every two minutes throughout my business day and leaves messages that make it sound like he is an attorney.

Everyone should be reporting this company to their state Attorney General Office.  We have rights!

I had a similar experience.  Some guy called and said, Hi Kim, do you remember talking two days ago?  When I said no, he called me a liar.  We went on and on.  He asked about a Wendy something.  I said I didn't know that person.  He said - "yes you do, you gave me her name!".  When I asked to speak to his supervisor, first he told me I couldn't.  When I continued to insist, he said, okay, but it will be a while.  I told him I'd wait.  After waiting 45 minutes, they hung up on me!

I was so mad, I did some research and here's what I found out.

So here's what I did....

On their website, I found the name for the VP in charge of collections: Jeff Carew
I called the main number and using their company directory, got connected to Jeff Carew's voicemail.

I left him a message that I needed him to return my call regarding an "urgent collection matter".  

The next day I did receive a call back from someone else named Daniel.  

I filed a complaint with him and he's promised to make sure all of my phone numbers are removed from my list.  Moreover, he has promised to pull the recording from the call I received and review it.  He seemed shocked (could have been fake, but he seemed sincere) when I told him how I'd been treated.

If everyone who was mistreated by this company called them and complained, perhaps they'd change their tactics!  

If anyone else wants to call Daniel, you can reach him at 1-800-563-4929 ext. 8594 or call the 800 # and leave a message for Mr. Carew.

At least it got someones attention - HA!

Two different numbers showed up on my caller id on my home phone within Two days in a row Feb. 22, 2010 and Feb. 23, 2010. The first day (2 calls) were from the number 905-480-1331 (Ontario call) and the second day (2 calls) were from the number 905-479-3334 (unknown caller). It was a mon by the name of Rob or Mr Pond from Global International leaving me a message telling me it was from my sister and it needs my immediate attention and he also gave a reference #! He told me to call back the number 866-350-4275 ext.#6553.

I hung up the ph. they called back in one minute, i did not ans. the phonr left msg they would sue me.
I called back number from called I.D. 905-479-3334  recording said no such number .

They have been calling me for about 2 months. If we know where they are located why doesn't someone in the area pay them a visit. Maybe find where they live, get their number and we can bother them at all hours of the day.

This is nothing short of another scam to try and get people sucked into there Bull++++ line. The fear factor didn't work so stop bothering to try. Hasen't anyone seen the scam on TV about these slims trying to pose as collection agency's and threatning people to try to get money out of them. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!!! DONT BE FOOLED.. JUST TELL THEM TO GO TO HE++ because that is where they are heading for what they are trying to accomplish.. It is unbelievable what scum will do to get rich off others. GOOD LUCK!!! I checked up on the number...its from Global International Inc. There address is 8133 Warden Ave,  Markham,  ON,  L6G1B3. I have no idea what they do!

These people have been calling me 2 or 3 times DAILY for the past 3 or 4 **MONTHS**!!!!!! Unbelievable... The word "rude" is too weak to describe these people. At first I thought it was a legit call. They asked for some guy by the name of Alonso something or other. The first few calls were from a "real person" - now, most of the calls are recordings (asking me to call back even if I'm not this Alonso guy). One of the callers talks with this pathetically deep and threatening voice - as if I'm supposed to start sh*t*ng my pants. I'm not sure who these people are, but I sure hope they get caught. FCC? Received a call from (905)479-3334, they asked for someone that worked here, years ago. When the manager got on the phone, they hung up rudely. We  tried calling back...message says "not a working number" and hangs up. If this was a legitimate call, dont you think it would be a working number?
Caller ID said Global International.

They have called me from an unlisted # and from this number.  Both times they called for my mom who has never lived here.  She didn't give anyone my number.  When I asked the man for a number so that she could call back, it came up as a capitol 1 debt collector.

I just got a call from the Supervisor of Division.. very nasty..i've been dealing with these people for awhile... i do owe on a credit card but everytime i try to talk to these people they want my bank information so they can directly take the money.. i asked them to send me a bill and i will pay month... they have hung up on me 3 times...i will not pick up the phone when they call.. the can call me the rest of there lives.. i hope they do take me to court.. at least the judge won't hang up on me :) LOL..i have alos saved the message...

i think its likely to be a debt collector, just like i tell the other mf debt collectors that run up my daytime minutes YOU CAN NOT GET BLOOD OUT OF A STONE! send it to the credit agency, it'll just sit there like piles of my other hospital bills are doing!~
