They have called multiple times so I called them back and was placed on hold.  When I finally spoke with someone, I asked to be removed from their list and distinctly told them that if I received any further contact from them, those calls will be recorded for training and legal purposes.

they are doing it to me now , they block number as well as call from 2 different 905 area code numbers and a 1866 number

if you have home phone from rogers or other company, just get call manager option and you can add numbers that call you that dont leave messages.  can block all private and unknown callers coming in.

takes care of alot of telemarketers and other callers to your home that are trying to sell you something like vacation cruises to people that call looking for people that dont live there anymoer.

if you have rogers home phone, and you have deluxe plan, you can just take out like 3 way calling and put in call manager at no cost

and you go online and you can block numbers or private/unknown numbers that hide their number , and even set times where you will not take calls, and your phone wont ring, just goes to voicemail.  if you have caller id you can just click missed call and see what the private or unknown phone number is.

any annoying telemarketers call they are blocked, they call from other number you input that number on website in your account. so unless they can get an infinite number of phone lines and a high cost of getting them, they are blocked.  and if they call from different number you just input that number as well.

i think its because it written off after 5 years and they already got the insurance payment.

the problem with these calls is the collection companies call random people trying to find the person.  so people end up getting 10-12 calls a night, or its an existing number.  some just hang up before you can give your information. i personally think they are entitled to damages because the calling from different sources is rampant, and everyone is entitled to a quiet evening.

and you are seeing say in canada american companies calling up here either by mistake or looking for a person which they looked up through the service where they can buy phone numbers.  and yes companies can buy phone numbers without your permission.

add in telemarketers calling from everything from selling you stuff, to charities, your phone ringing all night can be annoying.

i am surprised there is not an enterprising lawyer that is advertising on tv or on the internet, to get class action lawsuits against the errant calls or telemarketers.  i am sure there is enough of them that call enough where people who had their homes called can file a law suit and make money.

get a feature from your phone company rogers or bell or telus called call screen, you have to pay for it but it blocks the call without your phone ringing. depending on the company it can be 2 dollars more or 6 dollars more a month.

telemarketers can use different numbers, so if they use a different number just add it to the list, and pretty soon you have all their phone numbers blocked and it doesnt ring.

I keep receiving this call since January & leaving messages that they are an important broadcast not sales, solicitation nor telemarketers.  That they want to reach me regarding business matter. I called them back 2 months ago and they can not give me any information why they call me since my cel.# is not on their record.  I called again today and they gave me same reason.
Also receiving another call from # 9052582867 with same messages.

They called me today and I was wondering who it was. I answered it and a voice recording came up. I just said hello and the "This is your final opportunity to correct your action. Press any key to connect to my office" Or something like that. It was very vague and clearly a recording so I just hung up and turned off my phone.

To it may concern, I am receiving call from this number 905-480-1342, a tape voice goes through the crap and doesn't leave a company or person, But what could be done , if you do not answer it will stop as, as the dialer moves on to a new batch of numbers, you block it on your phone, I think it is with bell *66 ( I could be wrong) if you are with bell or rogers call them and they can block that number for everyone.  I am getting it on my cell, so I call my carrier wind and ask them to block it or find out if I can do it by myself....wtf I had to do get it block, blackberry

Yes, received a call from this number (905-480-13420) and it is the same people global collection agent, I didn't answer but when I got calls from the  pass from a collection agent and it was rogers, I spoke to someone in person and told them this as i did work for a insurance company in the pass ad did volunteer for the police. I said to them this , i need your authorization to record this  and i am telling you are only allowed to call one time a week that is seven days if you need to got a hold of me, you can e-mail me, if you can't me that is your responsibility , if you decided    to call me more than ounces I will have you charge for harassment  and sure your company, if the person does agree to your verbal voice contact, you know have to power. But you have to record it and say these words, 1 do you agree  to this recording, 2 state your name, position and the company you work for, 3 do you understand the agreement we have, 4 if the person doesn't agree to the verbal contact, tell need call from your company i will be calling the police (also they can be charge for invasion of privates. So please pass this around ( you have right to).  

It depends on what province you are in, if it's ontario it's 2 years that they cant sue (other provinces are 6 or 7 years, check your local gov't statue of limitations). but they can always request a payment on an account no matter how old it is.  After the statue of limitations they just can't take action to collect.  hope this assists others.

not just valid debts either, see this news article, rogers has been using aggressive tactics to collect on debts that aren't even owed.  if you google rogers, and collections you will find other examples as well from cbc national, where rogers tried to collect from dead manitobians!

They are a collection agency hired by Rogers Communication Inc.

The lawyer they use has an office next door to their offices in Markham Ontario.  He may even have a piece of the company.  They make a fortune and pay their staff peanuts compared to what they collect, mainly because folks pay just to stop the harrassment.  I know, I used to work for them.  We are told to be relentless and we are.  We will use any method we can to humiliate and harrass someone into paying.  Here are other numbers we can call you from too:

You see, we buy the debt from Rogers (at a fraction of what you owe) and then we harrass you to get the full amount...because we can...Rogers already has their money...the interesting thing I realized was that Rogers, even after selling us your debt, sometimes will still go after you and keep harassing you just for fun...Some folks will end up paying twice...and sometimes its even for something that was never owed in the first place....That's where the fraud comes in....that's why I quit and reported them to the Comercial Fraud Unit of the RCMP...nothing will probably come of it though....unless each of you file a complaint with the RCMP too.

The last few #"s are from Metropolitan Collections.  Rogers uses them too.  These companies make a fortune and when they are owned by lawyers with questionable ethics, it can be very lucrative for them.  (Yes, I know it's a conflict of interest but who's going to stop them...you???? You can't even get them to stop calling.... but if you press charges, you might have a shot at ending the harrassment)

I have had hundreds of messages from this number and 1-877-3423271 and now 604-210-2905 as well as calls that show up on the display as UNKNOWN.  They're all from the same outfit...Global Credit.  A lot of people have indicated they've been harrassed about a debt they supposedly owe to Rodger's and others it's been Bell Canada.  I have never answered a call from these people and the messages are like everyone else's who have posted here and even threatening legal action against me if I do not "comply".  Some of these messages have been recordings and others have been live calls.  One person indicated his name was Sean.
I believe this is a pernicious scam and and in their most recent message left they have instructed me to "press any key on my touch-tone phone to connect with one of our agents" which is a very devious way for the unscrupulous to be able to upload spyware onto my phone.  Every call or text I send or receive can then be monitored and my personal information stolen.  Therefore, I refuse to answer these calls.
I have put a very terse outgoing message on my phone and if these people do not cease and desist with the calls and threatening messages then I will be having a chat with an officer at my local police station.

These people need to be charged with harrassment.  I don't think it is a coincidence that so many people across the country are being deluged with these calls.  It is a vicious, organized scam and it needs to be stopped.

Im getting this call for my mother who I don't live with. They tell me she must call them back on my phone not hers. I am underage and these calls are getting more frequent and annoying. My father hopefully will be able to resolve this if he is home or near me when they call but until then I am not sure what to do. The advise here is for Americans and we are from Canada........

i get the same scam   what is your postal code what is your date of birth what is your last 3 digits of your social insurance number..........they are very tricky..........if i had the caller in the same room i would have chocked them all

I have received calls from different telephone numbers which all relate to Global Credit Collection Agency.  Finally called 1-905-413-8568 (Markham office) and spoke with Ms. Daly.  She said that they were trying to get in touch with xxx.  Told her that that person was not at the number they were calling.  She said that she would put "wrong number" beside the number they were calling and that would stop any further calls.  So, you may wish to call them too.

Just had a call from these people and it turns out they were looking for someone else. Hopefully they won't call again. I never gave my name only my# and i gave the guy they were looking for!

So this number kept calling my sons phone (hes 11!!!!!)   I called them today and someone picked up on the third ring.  She said it was listed for some other chick.. and I said well, she doesnt have this phone anymore.  Quit calling, or I will file legal action.  She says she removed the number, but to give them 24 hours.  So help me, if i get another call from these people, i will hit the roof.
