I received the calls from this number and the caller for almost once a day in last 2 months, and made me crazy. When everytime I returned back to them, they always told me that they are looking for one person named Alexida...or whatever I never met or know. Asked them to remove my phone# from their list, and told me they did, but 1-2 weeks later they use another phone (such as 416-482-7690) to call me again, and look for the stupid Alexida....

Called numerous times;  have 48 hours to resolve this "business matter", it is in my best inerest to return their call (toll free yeah, like a 905 call is toll free from the US);  it comes across my caller id as an 877 number, but I deleted it before I wrote it down.  I returned that call once before, and left the phone on speaker for 2 hours and they never picked up.  MY GUESS IS A SCAM -anyone else?

In the past week I have received 16 calls from this number in Ontario, Canada  905-4801-1366.   As early as 7:00a.m. and as late as 10:30 p.m. Same voice with two different names. Mathew Metcalf and Andrew Metcalf.  It is a recorded message saying that it is urgent important business...IN CANADA....WRONG!!!  STOP CALLING!

I also get Shawn and Aleano. It's a place called GLOBAL. COLLECTION AGENCY, I know specifically for Capitol one credit card.

a man's voice advised me to call within a certain amount of time or further
action will be taken against me.  They wanted me to call to clarify this matter?

It's a collection agency called Global International.  
They have a website for consumers that are getting called:

I received several calls for somebody else from this number.  
When I called back, I found out that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection.  
I found there website ( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number.
They told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

I've received this call ... they left a voice-mail. Tara from Global ... It's a very important personal business matter ... please call, 877-295-9638.

I decided to surf the web to see what this is all about before returning the call.

Now, I don't think I will.

Yeah, just got a call tonight.  Very nasty recording about must call some 877 number.  Some kind of scam.  I only did the search on it to see if I could find out who it was so I could curse them out.

Got phone call yesterday -- left recorded message on VM, however, didn't ask for any specific person in my home or didn't establish what company he was from.  My caller id said "Unknown".

I'm not calling back to find out either.  Sounds kind of bunk to me.  Guy said his name was Andrew Metcalf.  Same guy called several weeks ago from "877-295-9638".  Check out that blog, lot's of people complaining about this same guy and same message.

Calls and a recording states the calling person will help with a problem you are having and can only help for a few days. The caller does not ask for a specific person. After the recording, he than asks you to dial 1 to speak with him direct, which I did but only got voice mail.
