I also have been harassed by this Allan Bell.  Can't believe this guy is still around as the date below is from 2010.  Why aren't the authorities doing anything about this guy?  Is there no consumer protection at all?  Something has to change when a immoral and unethical person such as this is allowed to break every rule and law surrounding debt collection without any consequence.  It is your duty to report this guy and his behavior to the authorities.  Call the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada 1-866-461-3222 or Ministry of Consumer Services at 416-326-8800 and file a complaint.  With enough complaints we can get this guy.  Think of all the people, good citizens, that will be affected by this man's madness if you do nothing.  Enough is Enough.  This has to stop.  Please take the time to report him.

Everyone be very, very careful if dealing with Allan Bell of Global Credit and Collections.  This is a low life scum bottom feeder with no conscious.  You are dealing with a very dangerous man.  Everything he says is a lie.  Be warned you are dealing with a monster more dangerous than any venomous creature on the planet.  DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SLIME BALL DIRECTLY.  NEVER, EVER GIVE HIM ANY MONEY.  Please, be warned and do yourself a favor and get a credit counselor or other authority to handle any business matter you have with this creature.

Just finished paying off my debt with Global Credit collections.  They called me today to confirm payment and I gave them the Western Union Quick Collect #.  Ten minutes later got a call back from a Bob Sokolovski who said that they could only give me a settlement in full even though I paid the full amount that is on the statements they have been sending me for the past year or so, which showed no interest charges at all.  Put me over to Allan Bell who explained there is retro-active interest they missed and therefore I owe them more money or they can only give me a settlement in full, not a payment in full.  Even though the notices and phone calls of the past year gave me the full balance, which I paid, they miraculously found retro-active interest ten minutes after I told them I  paid the bill.  Anyone know what I can do here?  Do I have any rights?  This sounds very suspicious to me and I think they are pulling one over on me.  How do I know they will not ask me for even more money after I pay the "extra retro-active interest" that they mistakenly did not notify me of until ten minutes after I told them I paid the balance in full?

Got a call from this same number, for my wife saying she needs to call by tuesday and take care of a personal matter or they will take some type of action... who knows....

When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).  
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.

For the longest times we would just get voicemail were no one would answer. Crazy part was all that the caller idea said was '905'.After they called last (first time they have answered in a month or two) we said we were not going to answer a non existing number. Two calls  and actual numbers (area code and 7 digits) later  they told us who they were. Madness I tell you!

a man called and i asked him who he was he said from global internationals i asked him where he got my phone # and he said from my dad well thats kinda funny my dads in the hospitel from a stroke and has been there for a year and he cant talk and that made me more mad and angery

no idea who that is only said it was a personal matter that needs to be dealt with.  Assuming its collections for student loan or something of that matter.....I will call back but I am not accepting any rude behaviour......

I've gotten several calls from this number.  Message was left by a Mr. Ort saying that his client needs me to contact him immediately by Wednesday or further action will be taken.  Very Rude.  Never said what company he was calling from or who his client was.  The last message that was left was very rude and demanding.  "I've left several messages for you to call back.  If I don't hear from you by 5:00pm today I will be forced to give a negative report.  You have my contact information so I better get a call back or else."  I don't know who this person is let alone who his client is.  If he is a debt collector I don't care what country he is calling from he still has to play by California rules...which is where I live...and you have to state what company you are calling from or for which he didn't.  I don't call people I don't know whether they leave a message or not especially ones like his.

Heavily-accented person called my work asking for a former employee.  Wanted to know where she worked and her phone number.  Told him that I don't have that information (even if I did I wouldn't give it to him).  Even kept asking for info after I told him that I had no contact information.  Very strange...

Just got a call from this number. Obviously a collection agency call. Rarely would anyone call a 3rd party about a 'personal matter' of another party... These might be Global Credit Collection. When I called this number I got the message: "This number is not in in service." Some mind game...

I will be filing a complaint with the CRTC, as they are only allowed 3 times per week if  I recall correctly, If they call anyone on a Sunday file a complaint for sure. They are not allowed to call on Sundays.

I have been receiving calls from this Co. for months.They kept calling even after they said I was removed from calling list.Finally having had enough I just went off,never cussed like that before and Im a truck driver for 30 yrs. Told them I would call them 50 times every time they called.I made 25 before Iwas given this #, believe me this is directly from voicemail from them.1-877-234-1838 ext.1838. This person is some kind of supervisor,she informed me my name and # was removed from the case. We'll see.I hope this will help somebody get these people off their back.

I just save the creditor numbers under one name on my cell and set the ring tone to "no ring"..let em call..lol

I received several calls for somebody else from this number.  
When I called back, I found out that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection.  
I found there website ( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number.
They told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

ALAN BELL has called me being rude, condescending and even called my junkie (addict) neighbors to come and find me. He has gone as far as to harass my sister in another state telling her that she was listed on an EMERGENCY CALL release. I don't care If I owe you something, there are rules and ethics. Best way to get me to ignore you is to harass me. I will be contacting the Canadian authorities to report him asap.

Unfortunately the US FDCP Act does not apply in Canada, which is where the 905 area code is.

This is the number for Global Credit Network or something of that nature, I know because I owe them money and they call from this and other numbers sometimes the call id only says "905"

They keep calling me from this number every day for the past month.  They do not identify themselves and just Leave a message saying that it is a time sensitive issue and to call back asap.  When I call back the number says it is not in service.  Is there any way that we can stop these idiot short of changing our number to a new unlisted one.

They want you to "admit" to being the person they are calling for.  You can look up the company based on the phone number and name they provide and send them a certified letter telling them to stop contacting you because you are not the person they are looking for.  If possible, get a credit report to see if you have an outstanding debt that slipped through the cracks and possibly may have been sold to the company.  However, if you know you don't owe them anything make it clear in your letter.  They should stop contacting you then.

No it's not that someone used your number. I believe the debt collectors use a last name search of "possible" relatives of the person who owes the debt.  Once they obtain that information they may begin calling the phone numbers of the "possible relatives" that's publicly listed.  If your number is publicly listed, this may explain why they called you.

So if they refuse to provide the above information they are breaking the law? This company harrases me weekly but refuses to tell me who they are or why they are calling and I refuse to give them my personal information unless they tell me who they are...

They keep calling my cell, sometimes shows up as this number, when I try to return call - says that number doesn't exist.  Also shows up as 905.  When I listen to message they leave, it's just recording of music.
Probably a creditor though, I've been laid off work for over a year.

The number belongs to a company called Global Credit Collection, which uses several different telephone numbers from the  Ontario (Canada) region, to make harassing calls to the USA. It is unknown if they make the same type of harassing calls within Canada. However, because they have made harassing calls to our Organization, we have initiated an international investigation regarding their cross-border harassment of private citizens.
