Call on my cell phone. Did not answer it. Checked google and this site popped up so thought I would add to the list of disgruntled reporters.

Just got a phone call from this number. If he was real TELUS mobility, he should have called my daddy who was paying for the bills.. definately scam. and he asked me "do you have driver's license?", i said "no" and then he said "oh, then no free cell phone for you."  LOL

got a call, did not answer, and they didn't leave a message. This is not the only number that has called. I think there are some major scams going around via cell and home phones.

they called and i answered...apparently on behalf of Telus Mobility offering a free motorola cell phone for someone in my family.

Asked me if i am currently on a contract plan or pay as you go, also asked what kind of phone i own. After that I hung up on the guy...
It seemed very fishy + I could not understand the guys accent, and I did not want to agree to whatever he said LOL

I got a call yesterday from this number.  I was busy so I didn't answer the call.  I didn't recognize the number which is another reason why I didn't answer.  Only certain people have my cell # anyway and this # wasn't on my list.    If I wanted a new phone I would be going to a Telus store to inquire about a new one.  I don't care to be pressured into a "sales promotion" even if it is a good deal. (HA) How does anyone know what is legit or not if it comes up as an unknown name/number??

I work for a telus dealer and they are also running this kind of promo through telesales. Telesale guys are just given the numbers no other details of customers. promo is legit and the way they do it (only calling existing clients of telus, free phone not "won phone" is offered, dont take any ids from the customer) but promo is available everywhere.

I had them calling me for 2 weeks straight. They were rushing me to provide my personal information and saying a new phone (any phone I wanted) would be delivered to my doorstep the next day. They also asked me questions that Telus would know from a database, such as how much I pay a month - IDIOTS -  I hung up and called telus and filed a report. I then called the Telus fraud department.

It is a scam -- do not provide ANY information

I got a call like that this morning.  Some guy with an indian accent claiming he is from the Telus promotions department and saying I'd won a free LG chocolate phone wiht a 3 year contract and a new phone number.  He started asking for my name, date of birth, and address, and I told him I wasn't interested.  I figured that if he was for real, he would at least have my name, but he didn't.

I just received a call from this number as well.  I too am a Telus customer.  Their latest scam is that they want to give a family member a FREE phone and will indeed deliver it to your doorstep.  The guy's first question was wanting to know what plan I was on.  That of course was a red-flag for me and so I said BUH-BYE!  I could hear a lot of muffled talking in the background. Sounded like there was a whole bunch of people involved in this scam.  BEWARE!!!

Just received a call from a different number with the same request. They claimed to be the: "TELUS Promotions Department". I work for TELUS and I can say that I am not 100% on what this is all about. However, I can say that it is not a free phone for your existing phone number. I've received calls from many clients who have got this same call. What they are offering seems to be no different than going in-store and adding a new subscriber to your existing account. Look on the TELUS website on any given day and for example, today there are 3 different high-end phones that you can get on a 3yr contract for free: Samsung U540, LG KEYBO and LG VENUS. This may not be a scam, but you certainly haven't won anything. Just trying to give everyone a head's up. Always be cautious when any company calls you outbound like this. If a TELUS rep calls you they should already have your account in front of them and would not ask you for your: name, acct#, pin, address.

Take care.

Yeaaa, i also got a call from these people earlier today. Some dude was talkin about i won a lg venus that would be delivered to my doorstep. He asked for my first and last name, which i didnt not give him. He also said I should expect another call within the next 15minutes from another department to verify the offer or some crap like that. It didnt seem legit at all so i just said I wasnt interested.

Just got a call from this number, I missed it so I don't know who it was.  I am NOT a Telus customer but my number used to be on a Telus account, more than 90 days ago.  Therefore DNC applies, AFAIK.

I got the same call on my cell phone; I informed them that my cell phone # was on the DNC list and I was not interested.  Looked up the phone # on canada411 and it's a land line based in Brampton with service provided by Allstream (not even by Telus!)

I just lodged a complaint against that number on the national do not call list website (https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/index-eng).
