I got a call from this number last week and after some research, realized what they were up to.  They called me back last night and gave me the "you've won a trip to Vegas" crap again.

I told the operator that I had done some research and was not impressed with what I read.  She sounded really nervous and quickly said "ok bye" and hung up.  If they were a legitimate company she would have defended it.

So there's your answer.

Don't give these people your time.

I got a call from them as well telling me I was one of four winner from the aircraft show at the Downsview airbase and same crap prizes as all you were all told. All they want to do is give you a garbage package and expect you to upgrade everything and by the time you are done with it, it will cost you more than the regular price in the market.

I actually joined last year, kinda wish I hadn't now though.  I have received the claimed 40% off at 2001 audio though, so I was pleased about that.  The real test will come when I'm buying a car in the next year or two, supposedly they can get a good discount on new cars.  If they can save me 3% on a new car, as they claim, then I'll be happy with it.

I foolishly went the the presentation today. I was courous and thought will why not. I sat through their presentation and they want you to purchase a membership in their club for just under $3500.00 They claim they have savings discounts to Bad Boys, McDonalds, 2001 Audio Video, cars4u.com selloffvacations.com etc. At the end of the presentation we decided to sign up. I came home and starting googling the company and found out that it's a scam. I have cancelled my cheque and hope that all will be O.K. I feel really bad for the people that were taken by this scam. The vacations they are giving away are purchased at http://www.vacationgetawayincentives.com/ For $99 a year, the company and print off as many certificates as they want and if the certificate is redeemed, they are paid a comission of $3-$6. What what I can tell on the internet, the whole thing is a scam.

With regards to IDC the biggest complaint I found on the net is that they promise you a 10 day period to change your mind and if your not happy with the product then you can get a full refund. People on the net are saying that they won't pay the money back and they have to take the company to small claims court. What I didn't like was you paid your money and then they want you to come back in 3 or 4 days to go over how you can use the internet to take advantage of the savings. You don't get to go home and log on and see what you just spent $3500 on. I think this is their way of cashing the cheque and making sure it clears before you find out you didn't get anything special.

I would stay away from this company. I didn't find anyone who said they loved the company only complaints.

We have not takin the trip to LV yet but just got back from another trip we booked to Cuba. Same as anyother trip just cheaper, with the IDC.
I did recieve the $1000 in auto stuff its all just discounts on regular things like oil changes ect.
We are also currently looking for funiture not sure if its a huge saving there yet but it is something!
I beleive that there is payment plans or debit but I don't think they take credit cards.
As for the documents saying you have the prize you need to claim it over the internet and they send you the info to start to plan to book it. Once you send for it, it limits the time you have to use it. 5 years to send for it and once its sent its about 18 months. You don't have to pay the taxes for the trip till you use it.
Hope this helps some.

So, did anyone end up taking the trip to LV?
What about the payments?  Do they have to be made right away?
What kind of documents do you get that say that you have the prize?

Thanks for posting!

So do we have to pay the taxes right there? and the 65 dollars right there? If that were the case its a bit odd considering they would take airport tax from theoretically 5 years in advance. I too have got this call and am supposed to go pickup my pize for Vegas in 2 days. IF i end up having to pay for this stuff im out!

I though it was a scam too but i got my vegas trip, I had to sit through a 60 minute presentation. I didnt sign up for anything though, I just said thanks but no thanks and walked away with the vegas trip...however be aware that you will still have to pay the taxes and a one off processing fee of $65.
You still end up ahead if you are prepared to sit still and listen to a fat man talk about discounts.

In the end I walked away with
1000 dollar discount for car products and services
500 dollars casino allowance
and a trip for 2 nights for 2 in Vegas

Score!!

So we went to get the tickets for vegas just have to pay the taxes on the air fair, not bad though. Also got a $1000 for auto repairs for showing early! Pretty sweet. All they ask is you spend some there to check them out, join or not.. Its like Cosco and Direct buy. I have both though I think if I knew about IDC first I would have chose them over Direct buy. But say-la-vi. We are now menbers of all three!
Now its to see how it all works out. I'll write back after Vegas, we have five years to take it, how ever it will be this year!

The company is IDC and they are calling from a few different numbers now (905-673-0312 and 905-673-0700). They called me several times since mid-November 2009 and when I finally picked up, some guy in a heavy accent said I won a free trip to Vegas (flight and hotel), $500 spending money and all I have to pay for is the airplane ticket taxes. Stupid me I fell for it and gave him my personal info so that he can send me my prize. After I gave him my info, he said I had to pick up my prize in person at their office location in Mississauga and had to make an appointment because I had to sit through a 1 and 1/2 hour presentation, along with about 20 other winners. He then handed me to another person who would give me a claim number. They never told me their company name until I asked for it at the end. The next day I researched the company and visited their website and found out that they are a scam. I emailed them to say that I wanted them to remove my name and phone number from their database and stop calling me. The day before my scheduled appointment to attend their presentation they called me 11 times on my cell number and 9 times on my home number!!! Can you believe that. Every 1/2 hour or so they were calling. They left 2 messages out of the 20 calls, saying that I should call them back to confirm the prize claim number. They also said that I won an extra $1000 to spend someplace... I just deleted the message. I called them back and told them to stop calling me and that I'm not interested in what they were selling. Their website is http://idclub.ca and even though it states that you just have to attend the presentation and don't have to buy anything to claim the prize, I'm sure there is some catch. If I'm one of about 20 winners attending at that specific time slot on that day (there are many times and days you can choose from to attend the presentation), imagine how many winners in total they have to fulfill the prize for, especially if none of them join or pay anything. The company would be out of business. I work in marketing for a large corporation and we hold many contests, so I know the legality of fulfilling prizes. I was searching on their site for the contest rules and nothing is posted. It's not a legitimate contest (or so they call it a contest) and my only interest in attending the presentation was from a legal perspective. But since they called me so many times and pissed me off, I can't be bothered giving them 3 and a 1/2 hours of my time (2 hours to travel there and back and 1 and 1/2 hours to sit through the presentation). If anybody does attend the presentation, please update this forum with specifics and not just "yes the trip is free" because a worker from IDC can easily just write that.

I got a call in October saying I won a trip to Vegas, every time they called it was a "bad time" (got kids) so they stopped calling for a while. Then out of no where they called again.. so we're off to see what it's all about. On the other hand I was pretty excited.
They called again this morning and said if we are early we won something else. That kind of makes me wonder... I'll write back about our visit and if we go to Vegas, how it was!

I thought I was rid of the calls from "IDC" as I hadn't received a single call all last week, but then I realized they must have taken a break for the holidays just like everyone else. ;)

They actually called twice in a couple of hours today, possibly to make up for lost time of not calling last week. I've been waiting for them to leave me a voice-mail letting me know who they were before answering their call, 'cause I had no idea who IDC was - and that took about a month for them to do.

Actually, their second call came in today just as I was reading this board.  It was kinda unprofessional the way Patricia spoke about the "prize".  No explanation of the company they were calling from.  No "Congratulations!" or any type of happy-talk to get me excited about winning a prize (Even the lady from Pizza Pizza was really excited when she called me to let me know I won a *hat* from them, lol.)  It sounded a lot more like a sales-pitch then an actual prize right from her, "Hello?"

She even asked me, "Do you remember filling the ballot out?" which I found a bit odd since the show was back in November and there were a few places where I did fill one out; but I had been thinking about that myself ever since listening to her voice-mail.

At the National Women's Show, there was this one booth where there was a bunch of lights and a shiny new car wedged into it, and it was like the word SCAM was graffitied all over it.  But apparently that didn't stop me from stupidly filling out a ballot there while having a good time at the show.  And come to think on it, I believe Patricia said I won it at the National Human Show, but it could have just been a bad connection.

Anyway, I told Patricia that I was in between jobs and had no way of affording the prize (gotta love that), and she stuttered a bit, said okay and hung up.

Will let you know if I get a call again tomorrow.

Hello,

I read your posting.  so you went.  What happened?  For me it was a disaster.  I joined their club because they had a contract that said I had ten days to cancel.  When I went in two days later to cancel, they would not refund me.  As a member you are suppose to have amazing discounts but I never got anything and  I have been trying for three weeks now to get my money back.

Soooo.. me and my boyfriend went in today after they kept bugging us over and over again to come and claim "our free trip to vegas". All in all, it was a good experience. I was more curious as to how they called me, so they showed us the ballot which I filled out at the wedding show.    Basically, its an exclusive discount club sort of like costco or directbuy and they invite selected winners each month to watch their presentation about the company. Wasnt for us, but hey im sure theres some people out there who would love to join. If your reading this and just want to make sure the vegas trip is for real I can asure you it is.. go ahead, have a good time (they even have a talking parrot which was awesome!)
