On march 19,2014, I received a letter from Inter-American Promotions Inc stating that I won the "INTER-AMERICAN LOTTO POWERBALL held in California on Feb.12th, 2013." And that I'm entitled to receive the sum of $175,000 US money. And they also enclosed a check for $3,880.00 drawn out of the winnings to enable you (me) pay the nonresident tax/Admin fees to the UK government. Contact: M. Manu West -LL (Claim Agent) a Phon # 1-905-782-5755 (presumably NOt legit.
The same wording: "lucky winning number 02 08 12 14 1 06..." Oh, and to contact Manu West at 905-7825-755; however, the same promotion director: Dana Bob.

I received similar letter, several weeks ago, from Inter-American Promotions INC with a $3880.00 check dated Oct 22,2013. The bank is ' The Bank of Southern Conectict New haven, CT 06510. The spelling of Connecticut on the check is with one 'n'. The check is to pay "1,670.00 non resident fees to the UK and 950 for Admin."  Once fees paid,Fed Ex would deliver within 214-48 hours, on a special package, "the balance" of the winning number "$171,120.00."  The same wording: "lucky winning number 02 08 12 14 1 06..." Oh, and to contact Manu West at 905-7825-755; however, the same promotion director: Dana Bob.
I have not done anything yet, but today while cleaning, I came across this letter that I had put aside, and, decided to Google it and found your site. Plan to take it to the Postmaster in the AM. Who ever these people are will not give up until caught!

Took the check to my bank inperson and had them verify funds before I tried to cash it... In about 10 seconds they told me it was a fraudulent check.

I also received this letter in the mail yesterday. Of course I had my doughts Nothing is for free. I decided to google INTER-AMERICAN PROMOTIONS INC. BAM what did I see. SCAM written all over it. It's pretty sad how some people will go to great lengths to steel your hard earned money.
If any of you get this letter in the mail please research it. That's all I did and had my suspicions confirmed.

What a scam ! This is the exact letter I received with a check of $3880.00
I also made the call to a Manu West who advised me to deposit the check,
call him back and he would send a cashiers check for $171,000
Why would you have an envelope from CapitalOne and have a
JP Morgan Chase Bank Check ? Why is there not a phone number in the
United States and only to Canada ?
How does one pay taxes/fees by depositing a check into ones account ?
PLEASE,PLEASE DO NOT DEPOSIT THE CHECK. These jerks do not
Care who they hurt. I am going to forward this to our state attorney and let
Them investigate this matter.
There is nothing free in this world, you work for your money, don't let these
scam artists take it away from you. They will end up in jail eventually.

On June 3rd, 2013, I received a letter from Inter-American Promotions Inc stating that I won the "INTER-AMERICAN LOTTO POWERBALL held in the United Kingdom on April 12th, 2013." And that I'm entitled to receive the sum of $175,000 US money.

The check was supposedly issued by 'JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Syracuse, NY.'  I called a branch at Phone # 315-476-0987 and spoke with Ashley and reported this to her. She asked me several questions and stated "this is a freudulent check and we are aware of this; just rip check up."

How deflating when you already seeing yourself paying off your mortgage, bills and giving some money to the church!  What a *SCAM*!!!!  ... (that you could loose your savings, if you believe it's real and deposit this check. I almost did deposit it; and I would have lost money --- not won money. It's a shame that there are people who will steal and hurt people by this presumed scam per Ashley.  Beware, Joan Lev./ PA
