Same scam asked me to call 202-621-0315.  Told me she was from the U.S. Government Federal Department.  I asked which one there are a lot of departments, then said the Treasury Dept. I asked why would the Treasury need to call me about money? She hung up.

The message said I had been able to receive money from the government. I gave the guy an ear full and her preceded to call me 5 more times!

I got this same call several times on my cell phone, stating I can receive $7ooo grand from the goverment.  They get very indignant when I asked them to remove me from their call list and not call me again.  How can I stop them or report them?

very thick accent called last week and told me they had a 7000 grant for being a good citizen, no bankruptcy yadda yadda, wanted my address and birthdate, I told him if he was with the US government he would have all that.  He called me today and said he was with the US treasury dept and that I owed him 7000 and would need it paid today he could take my checking or savings information and take care of it with no late fees.  You would think they would research our government departments better before making these calls, I just laughed told him to have a great day and better luck next time.

Either Indian accent or african.  Very heavy either way.  Asked for Husband when said not availalbe gave me some story about Federal ??? agency..  When I told him I was federal employee, I got an oh no and then I said was going to report scam to FBI and hung up.

The guy called me and said that his name is Dak Johnson and that he wanted to "get to know me", when I asked him who he was he kept repeating the same thing that his name is Dak Johnson and he wants to get to know me. I told  him to stop calling me and he called  me 9 times after that. Then he said a lot of nasty, filthy, and voulgar things to me. So if this person calls you DONT ANSWER!!!!

My caller  ID shows Gambell, AK. (wow).  I was told that they were calling from the Federal Government Grants Department, in a think indian accent. They told me that I am going to be recieving free cash $7000 for being a great citizen, for graduating from high school, graduating from College, and not claiming bankrupsty, or going to jail.

Then they kept asking for my birthdate, my address. I told them that if they were the Federal Government they would have my birthdate and not need to be speaking to me, I would be just getting a check in the mail.  

I knew it was a scam right away; I claimed bankrupsty in 2006. I am still in school... WTH!

I received a call stating I had been selected for a $7,000 federal government grant just for being a good citizen who pays my taxes and doesn't have any criminal history. Asked that I verify my address, which he then gave me, and for my age. Then asked whether I would like to receive the grant in cash, to my credit card, or deposited into my bank account. When I said "cash," he gave me a confirmation
#AU201 and said to call 202-621-0315 and I would talk to a lady whose name was Betty Bennett.

The caller had a thick Indian accent.

I received the call from the same number, offering the U.S. government grant. The caller sounded fake.

Me too, and no idea who it is. They don't leave a message and they don't answer when you call back.

Same thing exactly same story they gave me. Told me to call 202-621-0315 and ask for Debbie Bennent. This is scary not knowing what info they have. Makes you not want to put money in your account.

"Kelvin" claims to be from the United States Financial Government?! What a joke. Told him to never call me again as I have worked for different government branches for years, and I have never had a cold call like that in my life. No such name of branch exists. After that, different phone numbers popped up, and of course, all from India. I have reported it to the FTC. Let's see if anything is ever done. It seems our numbers get recycled. If it's not one caller, it's 20 callers in the end.

I hung up and looked the number up and it is definitely listed with the same story. I'm just adding the first number to update the file. Hope an end can be made of these nuisance calls.
