Have gotten multiple calls daily from this number I have told them I am on the DNC list but they continue to call.

This number texted me to tell me my gmail was "compromised". ...I don't have a gmail.

He called us and got our answering machine.  He was very loud, yelled into the phone and then hung up.  My husband called back the number and found out that he was collecting donations for law enforcement.  This was the 2nd time he called us. My husband (a retired police officer), called him back on a recorded line from the police station.  My husband asked him a lot of questions, and then read him the riot act.  So whoever you are out there making these phone calls, BEWARE, because you're voice has been recorded for tracking purposes.  They have your number!

This was not a call from the NJ State PBA. They as well as local Departments don't solicite by phone. The Call is A "FRAUD".

This solicitation for donations to local and state Police is a "FRAUD". The NJ State Police as well as the NJ State PBA "DO NOT SOLICITE DONATIONS BY PHONE." Local Departments solicite by mail in their towns only. If you receive a call from this number contact your local Dept. or the NJ State PBA in Woodbridge NJ.

I just received a phone call from a man - with a very authoritative and aggressive voice - stating he was calling from the NJ Police Benevolent Association and he was looking for a donation.  When I told him I donate regularly to my local town he said that this was different and it was for the State Police.  When I reiterated that I only donate money locally he became annoyed and more aggressive.  I told him I was going to hang up and did.  When I looked up the phone number 'reverse phone look up' I see the number is coming from a private land line in Bernardsville NJ.  I then found this site and am reporting this number so others don't think it is legitimate.

could tell it was auto dialer due to the delay in their responding to my hello....claimed they were "nj law enforcement"....a very 'authorative', bullying type of voice tried to talk to me, but i told them send anything to me in the mail. and of course, they have no idea who they called.  I had just read about this organization, looking for donations...a very very small percentage actually goes to the charity, most goes to paying the people collecting the money.  am afraid for older people and those who may fall for this scam.

I just got a call saying he was collecting for the local police, I became suspicious because our town doesn't have a local police.  I called the state police and they said they do not solicit by phone.  Do not give him any information, try to get his name and number.  I tried on a bunch of reverse directories but they all want money.  If someone has a subscription to one, they should post it on here so no one gets ripped off.

Yes, the 908-367-4895  IS A SCAM.  Not to long ago I reported this number to the Police Dept. from my town they came over to write a report..   they informed me that any phone calls I receive from either a person representing law enforcement, fire depts., etc is all scam artists.  The law enforcement, Fire Dept., etc. will request a donation by REGULAR MAIL and NOT BY PHONE.  I was informed that whoever calls with that request by phone I'm to ask for their full name and phone number.  Once I get that information I'm to forward that information to the Police Dept.  So my suggestion to whoever is reading this to do the same.. ..some fool calling about donating the police...AGAIN!! I did NOT answer the call because I recognized the # on my caller ID.  I have already asked not to be called again and mentioned that I was NOT interested in donating any money.

Two days ago I answered the call from this number and the man on the line said that he was calling for an organization that encompasses all police- state, county, town. He said that they were looking for donations for the organization. He didn't say what the money was to be used for and I didn't ask. He told me that I would be receiving information in the mail within the next two to three days and then he tried to get me to commit to a dollar amount.
I told him that I would probably donate if, after I got the info and researched it I found that the organization was reputable and not a fraud. I heard a sharp intake of breath on his end. Apparently, he didn't want to hear that I would be checking. Then he said that he would transfer me to someone else to take down my information and commitment to donate the minimum $15 donation. I said, "sure". When he transferred me I hung up. No one called back.
I believe that this is a telephone scam and if not I will not donate anyway because I have an extreme dislike for aggressive donation solicitation.
