I too just received a call from 908-583-1806.  Caller I.D. says "Electric Department" ..  automated message says, "This is pertaining to your recent electric bill, you're entitled to a discount.  To speak with a representative press 5."  I pressed 5 and got "Dave."  He hung up on me when I interrogated him.

They just called, but I didn't answer.... no message left.  Caller ID shows the number and "Electric Dept."  I am also on the Do Not Call registry - interesting concept as to whether telemarketers are targeting people on the list.    

They call claiming they can reduce you Atlantic City Electric bill.........

This number called on my cell on 3/25 and 3/27 around 6pm did not answer and no message was left. I am on the do not call list. .This is very annoying. No name came on my caller id on my cell.

It just called me...I called it back nd its a. Do not call thing. Just press 1 nd it hangs up

I too experienced the multiple harassing calls. I was able to keep the caller on the line long enough to pretend that I was interested. The California based company is calling from (908)583-1806. I was able to get a call back number (877)818-2807. I work for a forensics firm and advised that I was conducting a forensic investigation needing to know the legal name of their firm. I was transferred multiple times and was told that the name of the company <this is a lie>  AnsweringServiceCare.com. AGAIN, THAT WAS A LIE! I googled the fraudulent name and spoke with a lovely lady who reassured me that their calls NEVER default to voicemail even on holidays. I called (877)818-2807 back from another number and asked to speak with "David" the caller from the previous day. Turns out that it's not the company they say they are, David was on the other line and "Mary" said he would call me back.  David called back from (800)517-4926.  I advised that I was on a Do Not Call Registry and he hung up.  I went online to https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action and submitted the form to the FCC filing a complain for (908)583-1806; (877)818-2807 & (800)517-4926.  I encourage you to validate the numbers above and follow suit.  Although my actions may have been over kill, I am confident that it will assist others in allowing the Do Not Call Registry to operate as originally intended.  Thanks again and have a great day.

You don't need to spam every post made here with a C&P!  The posters do not get reply's from this since they anonymous.  Not even registered members get reply's, the forum is not set up this way.  The second thing I want to address with you is giving advice about calling scammers back. Not a good idea at all. These people have way's of actually doing DDOS style phone attacks now. It can bring with it more problems then what you started out with! I don't think people want these added problems.

ROT, do not answer you don't know. Block the callers, you can apps for some cell phone, some already have these features, or buy a call blocking device or phone for landlines, and report them appropriately..

I get this number of my cell and home phone. It is a telemarketer for a power company (not even mine!!) telling me how they can save me $$$ on my monthly utility bills.

Called last two days around dinner time. Blocked the number . I called back yesterday and did   not trust selecting 1 to be removed from the calling list for all I know they may switch the option as accepting an offer. Good Riddens.

I get random phone calls everyday. This number called me today I didn't pick up and they left no voicemail. It's really annoying. I don't know how they get your number in the first place?

This number keeps calling my and my husband's cell phones.  We don't know who they are.

Received a call from "Department of Electric" Linden, NJ on 03/21/2014 @ 12:06pm. I did not answer the call because I do not live anywhere near the 908 area code. When I called back from a Lan Line, the automated system gave me only ONE option. #1 - do not call list. The automated system never announced the name of the company.  

Sidebar:  If you download the "Current Caller ID" app on any (non-iphone) cell phone, the name/city/state for these annoying callers will be revealed.
