Ya he emailed me today about a phone. don't even reply to him he is a scammer and i REPEAT DONT REPLY to him he is a ugly as indian dude. Don't worry about him were doxing him right now i will find his real address. For the mean time don't EVER give him your stuff.

Here is how the "PayPal Scam" works:

Says they will buy the item and will pay extra to cover charges by his shipping agent.
Says he will PayPal the funds and instruct you to send the extra money via wire transfer or pre-paid card to the agent.
He then sends you a fake PayPal deposit notice email, spoofing the official PayPal notice, that says the money has been put into your account.
You, thinking PayPal has your money, go ahead with the wire/prepaid transfer to the shipping agent, who is really the scammer.
After that, you then find out there was no money transferred to PayPal and are out the money your wired.

I too received a text from David Richard in regards to an ad posted on Craigslist. He stated that he could not talk due to an illness. He wanted to pay via PayPal. He would hire a shipping company to pick up from Birmingham, AL and deliver to New Jersey. He also wanted me to contact him via his email: dvdrichard125@gmail.com I am sure so he could hack into my computer. When I responded back via text that I could not complete this transaction he wanted to know why. I told him this number shows as a scammer. I have not heard back from him.

Scam!  Received the same texts as everyone else!  Stay away!!!!

Craigslist & Kijiji are not eBay. There is no reason to take checks, money orders, or Paypal. NOT what they were intended for. Set up to be a local sale, where you meet in person, look over the stuff, & hand over cash to the seller. Why would someone in Miami buy a baby grand piano from San Jose? They wouldn't. Just put "Local only - Cash only - No text message - In Person". Boom! There go 99.9% of the scammers.

I just received a text in reference to an ad on CL posted for wheelchair. David Richard he said his name was & he wanted to know the condition of the chair, here again it was mentioned in the ad. He also acted like he was willing to purchase the chair today. I had emailed him back saying it was still available & what else would he need to know, since everything seemed to be stated in the ad. I have not as yet heard anything back. Reading your statement has been very helpful as I now beleive that he will be trying to scam me. Thank you.

A run-of-the-mill Craigslist scammer...

This person just tried to scam me. Wanted my Paypal information and said would have a moving company come and pick up the item. Said was that their voice was paralyzed and couldn't talk due to an illness. Turns out there is a lot of information about scams associated with this number. I will find out who this person is and where they live and report them to local authorities. Your scamming a days are over.

I received a text from this number in response to a Craig's List ad. The text claimed to be from a David Richard requesting that I provide more info via email. Condition of the item was clearly spelled out in the ad.

i believe that someone from this number tried to scam me. through an ad i had on Craigslist.
they inquired about an item i was selling and wanted to pay for it in advance through Paypal
and wanted to do it asap. they also wanted to have a company they supposedly would hire to pick up
the item. they only contacted me through texts on my phone. the person/persons claimed to be
a woman who was paralyzed and also supposedly unable to speak due to an accident.
