Debt Collector
Here's an interesting observation of the posts above - the people with positive thoughts on this phone number all somehow use the same name of the company that called "FSM" - very curious given that the message I got had no company name other than "Legal Support Services."
This points to the positive reviews all being written by the same person - the same person who can't help fill in the name of the company that they work for.

Debt Collector
A real company would use a real caller ID and a real company name (not just "Legal support services")
Just got a message from someone in Florida asking me to call this number in California.
And it wasn't for me - I don't owe anyone anything.
So, my money is on scam since the threat was to contact my employer and serve me papers unless I settle this unknown debt in 24 hours.

Debt Collector
I received a call today from "FSM". Talked to a few people there. Yes they are a collection agency. Yes they do have an attorney. That doesnt matter. Its simple folks. If you owe a bill, you have to pay it back if its within stats. Which the debt that they had of mine is within stats. They provided paperwork. They sent me a settlement letter. I owed over $5,000 and settled out of court for $2,000 even. They will work with you.

If people have a VALID debt that the debt collector PROVES they owe, then yes, they should pay.  However, just because some Tom, Dick or Harry calls and tells you that you owe a debt, doesn't make it so.  And  many people are getting calls saying they owe a debt which is non-existent except for the scammers who want them to pay!  No debt validation = no debt due.  People should read up on the FDCPA - collectors are also bound by law not to harass or threaten.  Or pretend to be lawyers or police officers.

Do you guys in the boiler rooms take shifts posting on these message boards?  Or is it always the same inept person?

For the record:  Do not EVER give money to anyone who cold-calls you and demands payment without providing validation of the debt as required in the FDCPA laws.

And you sound like a desperate & failing bogus 3rd party debt collector!  No surprise there huh? What with your inept Shill attempts and all, it looks like being a Shilling bogus collector is about all you'll ever be.
And so, for all you folks out there, this clown is right! Pay your bills....but not to bogus debt collectors! DEMAND written proof of any collectors claims in writing, to be delivered to you by mail. NOT e-mail or fax. As outlined and required under federal & state law and as per the regulations stated in the FDCPA. Pay the original creditor if at all possible.
Believe NOTHING you're told by a debt collector! EVER! The most important asset in the debt collectors arsenal is the ability to lie like a rug! If they can't support their claim in writing, their claim is BOGUS! They might be running an outright FRAUD, or they may be attempting to collect on debts they know are invalid. The letter of validation is the key. If a debt collector can't (or won't) mail you a full and complete letter of validation, he's a scammer! VERIFY all information provided to you by any collector.
Know your rights as a consumer under the FDCPA. It's easy, just Google it. Check on your states statute of limitations regarding debt. They vary. Some extend to ten years, some as little as three. The lower the collector, the more likely it is that he (or she) will be attempting to collect on a debt that is out of the SOL or is invalid for one reason or another. The debt may have been settled or the collection outfit may not have legal title or authority to collect on it. It doesn't matter to the dirt-bag 3rd party debt collectors. They're equal opportunists. They rip you off regardless of your race, color, creed or religion and whether you actually owe a debt or not means nothing to them. You are a number and a target. That's it!
The bottom line is this; if a debt collector is hounding you but refuses to follow federal law in their attempts to collect a debt, their claims and their tactics are unlawful & invalid. Tell them to adhere to federal law or stop wasting their time. Pay them NOTHING!  Remember, it's the debt collectors job to prove to you that you owe a debt. It is NEVER your job to prove you don't. Tell them to get that validation in writing or you'll ignore their calls or block them.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
