It is for a school/ career college like Everest or similar. I could not hear the person. I called them back and asked them to remove my phone number they said I could call a number at 909 777 (????) I didn't hear the rest.

calls every few days. I have no idea who it is.  or why. It shows it comes from Fontana, California.
The only thing I could think of is maybe it's one of those schools like everest. but then it's not listed as a school.

Yes, very uncomfortable situation.  Person calls cell by voice when you pickup hangs up.  If you don't pickup, does not leave a message.  Attributes of a phone stalker.  Searching phone database for location of caller and owner of the number, says that there is no such number.  Various calls received from the same number.
