Called at 8:30 pm Friday evening.  We didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  

You will now get more calls.   They do this to get you to answer.   They want to know its a working number that they then sell to others.   Annoying but don't answer the phone if you don't recognize number.  There are scams that can charge your bill and so on.  Don't answer, don't talk to them, don't call them back.

The parties don't do this!   It's a scam.   Just like they call for children's cancer, the fire department, the police department, and even political ,   They can say anything.   Scams...don't answer

They called at 3:43 today and left no message.  I did not call them back.

everybody has an opinion (some quite adamant) about whether these are legit calls or not.  the trick is DO NOT ANSWER!!!
if they are so legitimate, they will leave a message. how many people do you actually know in big bear lake california? these people are first-class scammers.

Does anyone know what this call is regarding?  I haven't answered the calls, but it seems to be happening more and more.

I started getting these calls this week.  I shopped around and found a phone that allows me to block up to 300 numbers.  It has paid for itself.  When one of these calls comes in, it will ring once and then cut off.  Now sure if they get a message on their end.

Received call on 5-27-14; no message was left from this number.  Did not recognize the number so I did not answer

Said they were Judicial Watch.

Rang 3 times and then disconnected.  CID said:  "Big Bear Lake, CA" and the phone number.  Since I know nobody in Big Bear Lake I can only assume it was a telemarketer.  I've never donated to Heifer International.  I'll just do as I always do:  Post on this site and then block the number.  I'm lucky to have a phone that will block 250 calls.

A man called from this number asking for me (it only said "California" in caller ID).  My wife answered the phone, but gave it to me to talk.  The man said they were calling on behalf of Haven Ministries trying to get their end of year donations up.  He asked if we would be able to do a $200 donation and offered 2 CDs for something.  I told them, No, we can't afford anything.  Then he asked, can we count on you for $100 and I told them, no we can't afford anything.  Again, he lowered it to $50 and I said, no.  Then he lowered it to $25 and I told him we can't afford anything.  Then he said he would send out a letter in the mail and actually recited our mailing address (we are unlisted).  Earlier in the year, we did purchase something from Haven online so they may have been hacked.  This guy was very pushy and borderline rood.  Be careful out there folks!

This is a scam.   Neither party does this.  They do mailings...nobody gives their credit card or check # over phone,  or shouldn't .   I could say I was calling for restoring the Washington Monument .
They just want you to answer, they then sell your number to other telemarketers so you wind up getting more calls.   Don't answer.... Don't call back....don't. Press 1.  Or.   2.      All scams

Don't ever answer   Don't call back...   You just are letting them know that you have a viable phone number,   They then sell these numbers to other telemarketers.   Pressing 1. Or 2.  Just allows them to get more info.
reputable charities do not call people.  I learned the hard way, until a friend working for police dept filled me in.
They say charity but they only give 1% to the charity,    It's a scam.  
All these so called charities do this,  one told me Salvation Army, another said St. Jude.  Neither does this,
Nor do police and fire depts.
It's hard and annoying but eventually calls go down.  I only get maybe 3 per week.   I Never answer unless I know the name or number.  They don't care .  Why do most telemarketers hang up.....all they want is your  number to resell if you answer.  Bottom line......don't answer...don't call back...don't talk to them

I've gotten several calls from this number, identified only as California Call.

I got several calls from this number. I have given money to various charities and political campaigns in the past, so no surprise. Eventually called them back and got a recording about them being fundraisers. I kept listening and they gave me an option to get my number placed on their do not call list. We'll see how well that works :)

We just got a call from this number Saturday evening,  8:00PM.   It came up California on the phone,  we didn't know the number calling, so never picked up.   No message left on the machine.  

Another of those annoying scamming calls. We never answer such nuisance callers. The FCC, phone company know about these complaints but do nothing. NO CALL LIST - this is a farce.

No one has sympathy for them anymore because they are crossing the lines and refuse to remove people from their call lists. Its gotten to the point it is harassment.

The DNC is for telemarketers only. Political, Charity and some survey's are exempt. Survey's that try to sell are not exempt. Charity's can still get into trouble though. And in some states it is illegal for charity's to call, you need to see not only the DNC, but also check your state laws as well.

perhaps some old lady misdialed their daughters number accidently. there is such a thing as accidently dialing the wrong number. should you report the little old lady? I am in disagreement with people who are so ready to report companies to the do not call list. I understand if they are calling over and over to harass, but this is America and you are shutting down the poor salespeople who need to make a living. Walk a mile in their shoes before you give them a fine of $1000.

This number is supposedly soliciting political donations for Republican candidates, but emanates from 909 area code (Riverside Californika).  We live in Southeast Georgia.  What are the chances any of our candidates will see a dime?   Slim or none?  Just goes to show how stupid people in Californika really are.  But then, look who they've elected, especially to the US Congress.
