Automated message told me my number has been selected and to press one to receive my promotional offer

got call from 909-575-2870 did not pick up - lucky me

my child was sleeping and my cell phone rang so i grabbed it and glanced at the number and thought it was a 306 number answered it and got "CONGRATULATIONS YOUR NUMBER HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR A PROMOTIONAL GIFT! PRESS ONE NOW..." and i hung up.

Can't be prosecuted in Canada because they are calling from USA. Can't be prosecuted in USA because they called Canada. The FTC and CRTC need to share this information. They are sometimes extremely rude and vulgar if you ask to be taken off their list because they KNOW we can't do anything about it.

|Received a call from this number and it was a promotional discount to travel cancun and florida for only 598 and they give you a 2800 dollar discount to come visit their account excpet you have to pay your taxes and hold your spot with your credit card! so I hung up

I'm on Virgin Mobile in Peterborough, Ontario Canada. I got the call from this number, didn't answer it as I never do when I don't recognize the number or have family in the area I'm being called from. I googled the number, again per my normal ritual when a suspicious number calls, and I found this page. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who posted as this was pretty helpful.

It must be connected to answering a quiz on facebook.  I'm older, live in Canada, and this is the ONLY time I've given my number out to anybody not personal. The quiz site sold the number illegally, it seems.

Got a call from this number just now, as soon as I said hello, they hung up on me!

I got a recorded message saying 'Congratulations...your number has been selected. Please press 1 to claim your prize' in a really enthusiastic, fake tone of voice. I was telling myself not to press 1 but then did anyways, and heard a click, then nothing. I am pretty sure I am on a database of numbers for calling with future phonescams and telemarketing crap.
