I took got the call after attempting to call my own number from gizmo5.  kind of a unique situation though.  I set up gizmo with google voice and accidently tried to return a missed call from my google voice number (that is to say I tried to call my GV number from my gizmo SIP number.  this call failed and a minute later I got the call from 9098428140.  didnt answer.  I just tried again and was able to duplicate it.  strange.

i have been getting calls from this number for months now and they call over 100 time starting at 12:00 am till 11 am in the morning, no one on the other end dead air and i can't block them, please help me i live in Canada and my phone company will not do anything for me.

Here's a shocker, ... I have Gizmo5 and called my own number from the Gizmo phone, to test the service and my phones ringing pattern.  When it rang, it showed my number on the caller ID, but, after pressing my wifi "end call" button on the phone, all of a sudden it started to ring again showing the 909-842-8140 and I had to press "end call" again! ... several times, before it actually hung up.

Is the Gizmo5 system using this number to place calls out?, or is there something wrong where it starts another call after hanging up from the call placed to my own number by myself? ... strange!

Yes, this is associated with Gizmo5 accounts. So it is possible that any caller using the Gizmo5 voice over IP service would show up under this number. There could be thousands of different callers showing up with this number. Basically, with new technology and VoIP, a caller can manipulate the value that shows up on caller ID in a wide variety of ways. Caller ID will mean a lot less going forward.

this numbers apears to be used by Gizmo (aka sipphone) for outbound sip calls
when there customers purchase a plan "outbound" only plan.
I would imagine that other numbes that are used. i dont know if they are randomly generated or some artifact of not having a actual caller id set when the a gizmp customer sets up an account.
90% certain that if you see this number the originater is calling via Voip/sip and is using a Gizmo accout and could be anyplace on earth.

Called me just before midnight...on a work night.  I did NOT pick up.  A**holes.

Also called from this number after generating a Gizmo account. I later set up an acount for my wife and recieved ANOTHER call from this number.

4:57 PM, two missed calls.  Caller did not leave message

i got a call from this number last night at 1:33am...no one said anything on the other end..it was silent...woke me up from a good dream too..

I get about 1 call a week from this number I have repeatedly asked to have my number put on the do not call list ---they still call

It was some beaner trying to sell me satellite equipment.  Unfortunately it was a recording :*(

We are a Dish Network Retailer and still get these calls... Have been on the Do Not Call list for months. I get a phone call from 909-842-8140 with a recorded message in spanish trying to give me a free dish system.... I'm a retailer, I already have a free system.. I hit 1 to get a rep and when he figures out I don't speak much spanish he says F#$k You and hangs up. I then get another phone call from 800-471-0433 and it is the same guy saying F#$k You, F#$k You, F#$k You, F#$k You, F#$k You, until I write down the number and hang up on him... Gotta love it

Just got a call today. Yup, some beaner going on and on, I don't speak Spanish, I speak American. Didn't understand enough to get to a rep to ask to have my name removed, maybe I'm glad I didn't!

Got a call..I happen to speak spanish and the person was shocked at this fact.  I don't think he appreciated my telling him that I will file harrassment charges against them.  He slammed the phone in my ear after I told him (in spanish) to have a shitty day.
