Just answered for 909-842-9185. Said they were an energy comapny and wanted to lower my electric bill. I replied that I was not interested.

Who owns this phone number?

Received 5 calls from this number in the past week.  Caller ID shows the name as MINUS.  The calls mostly have been placed while I've been at work so I haven't picked one up yet to see who it is.  Not annoying yet, but their call leaves an entry on my answering machine which I have to clear.  I'm hoping they will go away eventually.

keep a loud whisle near the phone and when they are being a jerk blow it  in their ear maybe they will learn not to call

they keep calling asking for the person who pays electric bill I tell them they dont live here and they get mad at me

They've been calling everyday for a week, one of the days at least 4 times

I also filed with the do not call complaint registry

We had also been getting a number of these calls 3-4 times per day for about 4 days.  Sometimes when we answer there was music, other times nothing.  3/1/10, my husband answered and they also asked about who pays the bills.  luckily my husband had seen this site before this call.  When he started asking questions about where he was calling from, he laughed at my husband and hung up.

I have been receiving these calls for over a month now and finally have had enough. Please report all of these inquiries to the FCC. Hopefully these scums can get shut down for not complying by US governed laws.

Got a call today, saying I had been awarded $4200 from Health and Human Services for paying my bills on time.  When I questioned, they hung up...  The first guy i could not understand at all...

Just got call from this number. Did not answer. No message left. Decided to google the number. Glad to see this site. I wish I had the gift of gab, I would like to keep a one sided conversation going about how wonderful it is to talk to someone and just unleash all the problems of life :)  Wonder how long they would stay on the phone listening.

After  a few months of weird scam calls from a 260 area code (Michigan), they've moved on to California I guess.  The only reason I answered is because I happen to have a couple of friends who live in CA and until this started, could never recall their numbers off the top of my head when they appear on the ID.
Same thing, heavy-accented guy on what sounds like the worst cell phone connection ever, demanding to speak to whoever pays the electric bill.  I hung up immediately when he asked to confirm my home number.
This scamming crap is really getting out of hand, because recently we received a scam letter addressed to an elderly family member, using the internet logo of a real law firm--- in PORTUGAL.  How old-school , but also how creepy!

It's like a secret international army of scammers is trying to wear us down from all sides--- e-mail, snail-mail, the phone... .

Could barely understand, said calling from US Grant Department.  I asked for supervisor, who wasn't much better but said the government wants to give me a $4,000-$5,000 grant, authorized by the President because I have paid my taxes, have no criminal record, etc.  I said sure, send me the official paperwork with Obama's personal guarantee.  Well sure it's possible, he's giving everyone else money...

This is some kind of hoax, but I'll see what they send me.

Got this call, told me of grant money. These are muslim scumbags. Give them NOTHING. He finally hung up after i gave him the runaround.

2 calls from this number, ID listed as Minus.  Didn't pick up.  No message left.

Yeah, I just got a call today from that number. The guy on the other end had an Indian accent. He asked for someone named Michael. I told him he had the wrong number. He said, "No, I don't have the wrong number", in a way that sorta sounded creepy. So I said (in a very angrily voice), "Yes, you do have the wrong number! No one named Michael lives here! Goodbye!" Then I slammed the phone down. I'm not sure what he wanted, but I could tell he was up to something shady.

Just recieved a call for this #, and this guy w/a thick accent (asian?) asked to speak to Tony (my husband's name is Anthony), I told him he had the wrong #, then he repeated the # back to me, I said it was correct but not the right person....he then asked if he could speak to me, I said ok, He then tried to explain (very hard to understand b/c of the accent) that I am eligible for $4000 from the US govt. in grant money, I told him that it sounded shady and that I was not interested and he simply hung up.  I called the number back and got a pre-recorded message to press 1 to remove my number from their list...hope it works.  Interesting that people are getting different "reasons" for the call...hope no one is falling for their scam...

Just got a call from 909-842-9185. Person sounded like an Indian..very thick accent. Asked for someone (I couldn't understand him) and when I said no one lives here by that name, he repeated my phone number. When I said, yes, that's the number, he said something about Goldman Sacks. I said "No thanks, not interested and I hung up on him.

I just got the same call... asked who paid the electric bill... I told him to take us off his solicitation list - he got belligerent - "why you pick up the call if you don't take the call?"

Random call from this number today, I did not pick up, caller did not leave a message.

Caller ID said MINUS and when I said hello, there was a pause, then some guy said hello, I asked if I could help him he said no and hung up.  I tried to report it to my phone company, but they said they can't do reports on calls. That's three calls this month from area code 909.
