This number is a computer that routes calls through Customer Service of America, a provider of telephone services to jails and prisons.

If you listen to the whole thing, sometimes the call will be pre-paid from them, it's NOT ALWAYS COLLECT!!!! They are allowed to purchase or have purchased for them Pre-Paid phone cards, so don't be so quick to hang up. Always listen to see if it says that it's a PrePaid call from _______.

I have received several unwanted calls from this number I also live in Owensboro, Ky and some how I think I am just receiving unwanted calls I don;t know any one in prison or any local jails.

Okay- let me tell you that this is legitimate call.  This is a telephone company that handles calls from inmates. It seems that some small communities allow this company to transfer phone calls from inmates and I am assuming it is because the small communities do not have proper facilities to record these phone calls. The company does fool you because it reads on the telephone id as from Georgia. Recently one of mine was incarcerated and I did not answer the call because I thought it was in Georgia and we are in Alabama. Finally I was able to listen to the name and knew it was from one of mine. The call was made from the local jail but reads as a Georgia number. So go ahead and listen to see if you recognize who it is and then hang up and call your local jail to see if one of yours is in there. I am sure that sometimes other inmates using the same service misdial so be sure to call your local lock-up to verify if omeone is in trouble.

I just got a call from the same number also a record from a police station and a collect call I did a reverse phone number and the number is from a land line in Saint Mary's' GA and telephone company name CAMDEN TEL & TEL CO.  be careful people Is a lot scams in out there.

I got a call at 7:30 Saturday morning from this number and it really pissed me off.  I was sleeping so soundly.  It was on my cell, which by the way, I don't use.  I only have it for emergencies and I don't give out the number.  I just got it a few months ago.  The message that was left was broken, but it was automated and said something about "don't record the call" and "attorney client priviliage" so I assume this was from a jail house as well.  I live in Paducah, KY, just moved here a year ago. I can't imagine how an inmate would get my cell number.  A little bizarre if you ask me.  I'm going to report it to the FCC.  I don't want inmates calling me, EVER.

For two days I have received a call from this number. I do not answer but the caller keeps ringing back.

I missed a call at 10:13 today, it left half a voice mail about the rules of a prison call being recorded and whatnot.

Got a call just now from somebody in jail.I couldn't understand the name,but a gruff sounding voice.I looked at the local jail website,and nobody I know was recently arrested..
I hung up when they asked if i would accept the call...if it was someone i know,they would call back..

I do not want to accept these calls. I have ask that this inmate not to call my house and he still calls. I refuse the call and he calls straight back again and this goes on through out the day up until the night

Got a call this evening on my cell phone said it was from some jail and it was a collect call and the inmate said his name was Jodie and to please pick up.

This is a number from an inmate. But once you accept the call you also accept the charges...Which could be alo!

This number started calling me for the first time today.  The calls started very early morning--shortly after 7 AM -  and I think they have now called and left voicemails about 10 times.  Most of the voicemails have only been partial.  I have reported such calls to our local police department, but even they say there is not much they can do about it, and to just block their number if possible or to call my cell carrier to ask to block this number.

Hey Dave.... I live in ky as well and it called me...the funny thin is I live in ky and the call was from georgia! I didn't get that. Plus, I couldn't understand the name either so it could be a prank or a lonely inmate just messing around...my Nana's bf was in prison and he said that some elder ppl do that bc they have no on else to contact. Sad, right? But, Dave, I live in Franklin Ky so u shld no my town lol :)

This is a company provide to call from imate, if you accept collect call it will be costly, other wise you can call the company up put the money into the account and it will tie to the phone number and someone you know in jail can call out, they do  the services for multiple jail

Got a call from this number stating it was a correctional facility also

If you get a call from this number, I would suggest not answering it at all. I got a call last night that said "This is a collect call from 'I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU *******!" from some correctional facility. Considering I don't know anyone in prison or have anyone who would want to kill me, I'd say it's probably some psycho who thinks it's fun to dial random numbers to scare people with this message.

keep getting calls from this number also............don't really know who or what, but whatever you do don't accept the charges.

I received a collect call from this number. You could barely here a man's name when it said, "Collect call from - ". Figuring it was a scam, I hung up and then blocked the number from my cell!

OMG these morons just called me... IT'S 5:45 IN THE GOD DAMN MORNING!!!!!!!!!!! You call me  that early ya better have a job.....

My boyfriend is in jail and calls me from this number all the time. It is not a telemarketer, it is a collect call from a jail. And you can't just accept the charges, you have to call the company and give them you're credit card number and information and tell them how much you would like to put on the phone so that an Inmate CAN call you collect. Then and only then can you accept the charges. You do get a free 2 minute phone call when the Inmate first calls you.

Ive gotten this call two days in row now. First time I jeard collect call n immediately hung up. I knew it was my husbands former stp dad who recently got atrested for manufacturing. We recently disowned him too but he still trying to get in touch even though told him we were done with him. Today got second call and ignored it. I found this after googling number. It confirmed my suspicitions. He is.being held in a north Alabama jail currently as far as I know.

I just received a phone call from this #. The facility was called "Butler Co. Jail." Does that sound familiar to anyone??

I called the jailer/jail that had the individual who kept calling us. They do have a prisoner named DJ and I said I just wanted someone to tell the guy he is calling the wrong number that is why he is getting rejected!  The jailer said he would take care of it. I might suggest this to others but this was a small town jail so it was easier than a big prison or something to get the matter resolved.

We are not given the block option maybe because they are calling our cell?  Believe me I would if I could.

This number has been calling every couple of days and about five times within the same day if th call is missed. My husband and I have both rejected the caller numerous times when we have been able to answer it.  It is from a nearby county but we do not know the DJ that is calling! We have had this cell for about a year and half.   I am not going to get charged to tell the idiot he has the wrong number. But we really do not have any other option because it is so annoying.

this call is from a jail or prison, pick it up and it will tell you that an inmate at the (jail or prison) where they are located you have the option to  1, to accept call, 2 refuse, 3 or block the number.  Every jailer has the right to choose what company handles their phone calls for inmates.  The two I am familiar with is Combined Public  and Securus.  Google them to find out more.
