I got contacted by the same guy except he was calling from an ohio number area code 330.

Good thing I looked up this address to find out it was a scam!

I had the same thing happen regarding a wedding dress I was selling. He wanted me to ship it directly to Africa
"ASAP" for his brother. The $1000.00 is pending in my paypal account, but I ahve a really bad feeling and something is really weird.. This is the address he gave me to ship to:

just like Brian, exact senario...truck, shipping, etc. Actually spoke to him and he gave me no specific details. Spoke about an unnamed agent able to pick up the vehicle. i checked the number prior to sending him the email information. Thanks to this site...i avoided a headache or two.

Someone text me from that number asking about my truck i was selling. I have it listed on craigs list and he was talking about being from NY and having a shipping company pick it up. I asked if this was the same person who was scamming people trying to buy jewelry and never heard from him again. Thanks for these posts, i knew to watch thanks to you.

I posted my sony tablet on craigslist and got a text from a man by the name of emmanuel james. email for paypal-emmanueljamess400@gmail.com. his brother is in Ghana on a trip so he wanted me to ship it there for his bday. I DID. we used paypal, i kept getting emails from "paypal" saying they messed up and took the wrong amount so he wanted me to wire $250 dollars to his brothers account so i did then the next morning they said there was another mistake and that i needed to wire $371 dollars to his brother. i thought this was strange) i kept emailing back "paypal" asking for a contact number and they would not give it to me so i found a number online and called, and IT WAS A SCAM! since i shipped the tablet, we cannot cancel it even though it hasnt left the U.S. so i am out of a $300 tablet and $250 dollars. western union said we may be able to get the money back.

Just got a text from this no. about a Craigslist ad for a pick up truck.

same just got a text saying he is from California and is  using a shipping agent to pick up vehicle. but he says he can use a paypal account. I thought paypal was supposed to be a safe option.

Scammer-tried to 'buy' my diamond ring. I caught the scam before the package was delivered and got it back. Thanks to these websites! Always google a number when buying and selling online!

Received the same text inquiring about jewelry posed on craigslist only it was for a cousin abroad and the text message stated I would be shipping the jewelry directly abroad because this guy is "out of town".

Thanks for the warning.  Someone using this number called to purchase a jewelry item from me. I was scam before on what I thought was a paypal account.  I lost about $500.00.  Again Thanks.

Someone messaged me from the number wanting to buy a android phone from me. Asked where they was from no reply. Its a scam.

the only thing I found out about this scammer is that the phone is through Verizon carrier and it's a New York number...or so the internet says. I got the same text when trying to sell some jewelry on Craigslist.

I just got the same text from same number claiming the same about brother in West Africa. Trying to sell something on Craigslist. I just texted back "NO SCAMMERS ALLOWED". No response since. Beware only deal in secure location that can be monitored like do the transaction in a bank or in public with security cameras and cash only! ...Indiana lady

This guy texted and said that he wanted to buy my iphone 3G[s]. he said it was for his brother who was away on a "business" trip in west Africa... yeah Right! he gave a email :emmanueljames400@gmail.com.
I asked him for his name and address, he called himself James. he gave me an address in west Africa, this is what he gave me.

hmm FWD what does that mean?
Does anyone know how to catch these guys? Or at least make them stop?
I've been textin' him back and forth tryin' to find any information.
I'm a Texan, and I would love to see these guy's pay!
