I just got the call, ignored it, and Googled it (assuming it was a company I owe money). Reading this post was very informative, but, I must make one suggestion. Don't give them any information, regarless of wether it is yours or not. If you accidentally give them someone else's information, you could be negatively influencing a stranger. After all, these companies are in the business of selling and abusing information. Conversely, if you give them the information for someone you feel negatively towards, then you are being hypocritical as you would then be abusing the information that someone has trusted you to keep confidential. Besides that, people bring on their own consequences by boasting about their "payback" to friends and collegues, and that is precisely how people end up in legal tangles over defemation and harassment. By the way, it IS harassment to solicit information with harmful intent. Thank you for reading this. What you do from here on out is your perogative, but, try to be blissful... For your sake.

Wow, thank you for the information about this scam.  I just got a call from 9143395626 on my cellphone.  I didn't pick the call since I wasn't familiar with the number -- it was good thing though...  Whoever called left a pre-recorded message on my voicemail -- I deleted it after reading the post.  Thanks again!

Just got a call on my verizon cell. I answered and a recorded message said something about lowering by interest rate, press 1 to continue. At this point I immediately assumed it was a scam. I pressed 1 anyway, just to see where this was leading.

An American man sounding to be in his early 20's came on the line and said "So I hear you are interested in lowering your interest rate?"

I replied "My interest rate on what?"

He then immediately hung up on me. I plan on following through with this, doing research on the company, harassing them as much as possible and eventually reporting them.

All 3 cellphones in the family got the call from 914-339-5626.  When we called back the # was no longer a working #.  The calls really upset my family as my brother in law is in critical condition.  And of course the hospital has a 914 area code.  I can not tell you how much panic this caused my husband and son.

I hate these guys...I used to get calls ALL the time from this number. A few weeks ago, I said politely to stop and it stopped...until about 5 minutes ago. A few months back my mother went onto ehealthinsurance.com and submitted my information as I was possibly in the market for health benefits. I did not ask her to do this, she just did it. One guy threatened to call me all day everyday then proceeded to call me rude after I asked to speak with his supervisor over his weird threat. He said there was none available. I told him I would wait as long as it took. He tried to offer me health insurance again. I told him I wasn't interested in what he was selling, that I was interested in talking to his supervisor. "My supervisor doesn't have time for you, ma'am." My assumption is that ehealtinsurance is selling phone numbers and email addresses (had to get a new one) to these people.

Yep, got the same call, but since I didn't have the exact APRs of my credit cards, they volunteered to call back the next day.  In the meantime, this is what I found out when I Googled their number.  Bunch of idiots, but at least, they haven't called back.  If they do, I'll know what to do.  I'll follow someone's advice here & give them all the wrong info & keep them on as long as it takes.

Received robot call regarding credit card... According to new USA law See http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/08/robocalls.shtm making unsolicited calls is illegal. So why havn't these scumbags been prosecuted? I am not sure if everyone is aware this new legislation?
