Scam
I just got a call asking me to speak with Kevin Smith, Badge# 86530, claiming that he is from the Legal Affairs Dept. for the IRS and that if I did not pay immediately I would be arrested in 45 minutes. While talking to him I was looking up his number on the web and lo and behold the number was 914-364-9546 a scam. So I asked him for his DOD clearance number and he hung up. Then with in 5 minutes he called back saying the police were on their way so get ready to be arrested. So I told him that my phone was hooked up to a laptop and that I was tracing his call (which I wasn't) and would soon know all that I needed to about him and his scam and would hand over all of the information that I supposedly was downloading from his computer to the local authorities and he hung up once again. Then I blocked his number laughing.

two days in a row received a phone call from Rebecca Johnson, asking for my father in law. Horrible connection, and the funny thing is we had the same thing happen 2 months ago with a similar number with a man named Kevin smith. Both are very heavily indian accented. I'm over these calls we've told them plenty of times we know its a scam but they try every other month.

Scam
I received two missed calls from 1-914-364-9546 and one voice message from a Sean Patterson (who has an accent); he knew my full name and said he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs contacting me about an enforcement action that was filed against me. He said I should call back with my lawyer. I didn't call back or talk to him directly; just blocked the number. If you see this number just ignore it; if it were a legal matter you would receive written notice via mail.

Prank Call
Same calls as all the rest, US Dept. of Treasury, George called me and left a message for me to call Kevin back.  I called back and left a message the same day, the next morning, yesterday, George calls me again, very rude, tells me I need a lawyer, they have a pending suit against me.  He would not tell me what this was regarding only that I needed to talk to Kevin.
I told him I couldn't even understand him, and told him he was full of #$%& and hung up.

I just got a call on my girlfriends phone asking for my name??? Anyways,
this whole situation sucks because of how upset some people are made,
by listening to this crap. I left them a very threatening message in hopes they
will take me seriously and leave me and other people alone. What did anybody ever
do to deserve this kind of treatment. This is a scam to the fullest, and unfortunately,
some people will fall victim. This is not their first of last scam, I received a call from them
telling me that I have to contact them or I will be arrested. When I called them, they asked me
if I was (woman's name), I said, do I sound like a woman, and they hung up. I love to play around with these
idiots, by posing as a victim, asking what they need, and then giving them all sorts of false information.
I make sure to call them about 40-50 and making there lives a living hell.

I received two calls - 1 yesterday and 1 today, May 28, 2014 from Jack Watson who said he was with the Department of US Treasury of United States.  Gave me his callback number of 914-394-4642.  Busy every time I try to call it back.  Said I need to contact Officer Kevin Smith 914-364-9546 about a legal case and my taxes.  Immediately need to report and have this stopped.  He did speak broken English.  Could not hardly understand him.

I received a call today just like the note written from person above 5/16; from the same caller ?Kevin Smith?, he stated that my taxes where behind and that there was warrant out for my arrest and that the police / FBI was coming to my job to arrest me. I told him that I didn't know what he was talking about and that I would be contacting my attorney and the Department of Treasury. These scam calls are getting out of control. I work too hard for my money for someone to be calling me telling me some BS.

VERY similar story as "Had Enough!" on May 14th.  I was called at 1300 EST on 5/16/14 from 914-364-9546 while I was driving in Florida.  It was an Indian male with a strong Indian accent who claimed to be Mr. Snyder.  He was frustrated because I told him honestly that I could hardly understand him because of his thick accent, the call connection was awful, and he kept cutting in & out.  He asked for me to call a fellow representative of his back (same #), named Kevin Smith (really?!?!).  I called back from a landline, the same guy answered & I was told that "Kevin Smith" was a colleague of his but that he could help me.  The same story as "Had Enough!" on 5/14/14 then played out.  Very aggressive after he asked if I had an attorney, and I laughed and said no.  Raised his voice and was upset and asked me why I think it's funny when he just told me that there is a warrant out for my arrest (he kept going back between "warrant out" and "warrant about to be issued"), and I was about to spend the next 6 months in jail w/no bond possible and a $3000 fine.  When he had enough of ALL my questions he passed me on to another Indian male with a lesser accent (still bad though), and this guy asked if his buddy told me about the rule that I could not talk to anyone about this phone call (cited some B.S. regulation/law), because it would void the possibility of me settling "this issue" for $3845.36.  He told me that this was my first and last chance to settle before agents where to come to my door in <2 hours (flip flopped between this and an arrest warrant being faxed to the local police).  Also if I hung up on him, there would be no second chance and I would then spend next 3 years in jail (up from 6 months).  I told him I wanted to settle, but if he waited, I could find an attorney and we could settle this.  He said that the statute of limitations ended the day before (that's why he was calling me that day), and that my "fate" had already been decided and that they were on a computer programmed site and that if I hung up (they kept repeating the hang up part over and over), I was going to be arrested immediately and go to jail w/o bond (varying sometime between 6 months to 3 years).  He asked if I had enough money to settle this, so I played along and said yes, that I could "get it somehow".  He then inquired about a debit card (no FRICKIN way - duh), I told him I was broke.  He asked about a credit card then, I told him I didn't have one.  I then asked if I could just get a cashier's check and mail it to him (he didn't like that and said no, that it had to be done right away).  He then asked if I could borrow it from someone, and I said sure - my parents.  He then reiterated, that I could NOT tell them about the reason I need the money or I would go to jail anyhow.  I said "Ok, then do you have any suggestions for me of what I could tell them?"  He said "tell them you need money for rent or some outstanding debt".  I replied "You want me to LIE to my parents?!".  He said it is what I need to do to avoid prison (changed from jail).  I said ok, no problem - but in order to call them, I would need to hang up on HIM, and that would mean I would have to wait for agents, authorities, local police, or WHOMEVER to come take me to jail.  He said for me to put him on hold and use my other line.  I said I'm not that tech savvy and might hang up on him accidentally.  He then gave me permission to use a different phone (in my hotel), to ask for funds.  I told him hang on, it would take a bit - he said he would wait.  I answered a few emails and when I thought I wasted about 20-30 minutes of his time (I have unlimited minutes and my phone was plugged in by then), I picked up my phone and asked if he was still there - he said yes and I then told him to Go F--- Yourself!  He/They called back immediately 5 times in a row (all I could hear was broken speech - jail, prison, agents, warrants, you're gonna disappoint your mother - you know, the usual), and told them to F--- Off about 10 times, each and every time they did before I hung up on them again.  They haven't called back since.

Same bogus Eric Johnson claiming to be with the "dept of legal affairs of the u.s. dept of treasury" left a message for me also stating that he was calling me as a "verbal notification regarding an enforcement action that has been started against my name and if I was unable to call him back at the same phone number then he suggested that I have my legal attorney call him back as failure to do so could put me in a legal mess".  I blocked the phone number from calling me again but I am so tempted to call him back and tell him off too.  How can we stop this harrassment?

Received a msg from this number (showed as unknown) Couldn't understand the name of the person as the back ground was very loud, and he had a heavy accent, could not even tell what his name was as he stated on the msg. Sounded like an Indian accent. He claimed he is from the dept. of legal affairs and stated that I should have my attorney to contact them and if I don't call back they will put a warrant for my arrest. I knew it was a total scam and I am glad everyone has reported this number.
