Selling a motorcycle on CL, got a text at 2 am, same deal, Deborahemmy5@gmail.com, claims she's using a pager phone and wants me to send an email with more pictures.  Googled her email and she has a lot of scam reports.  NO SALE! hahaha.

Deborah Emmy texted me also from 617-453-2543. Thanks to this site, It told me it was obvious scam.



But then two hours later I get a text from 646-583-5622 with a very similar copy and paste.

Text: I'm just asking about it to make sure its in good condition as
im buying it for my Son as a  Birthday surprise gift and he doesn't know
about it, so can you assure me i will not be disappointed? also no
shipment involved as i have a mover that will come for it. Im okay

Got a text from "Deborah" from this number +1 (617) 453-2543 saying it's a pager so she can't call and to email her at deborahemmy5@gmail.com. I emailed asking if she wants to see the car this was her response:

Deceptive URLs

so beware scammers still out there.  I have had my car for sale on outotrader for 4 days....

We had the same text, then email, etc., exactly the same words.  We called PayPal and cars are one of the only things they don't insure unless you list on a specific site.  They also said that these guys will falsify pay pal emails like you got paid through pay pal or they will try to get you to wire some money to Western Union or something to pay the mover.  Seller beware!

Based on a quick google search - clearly a scam.

OMG so glad I googled terribee1960@outlook.com I just posted my car today and received text from 224 366 6082. Wanted to buy car but asked me normal questions and I replied and also mentioned my dad would be coming on any test drive, so far no response back. So annoying!

Just got a txt from mariamurphy13@gmail.com after posting my car in the Autotrader the phone # that appears in the txt message is 210 200 7312.

Maria Murphy (mariamurphy13@gmail.com) is still busy, responded to my Autotrader posting. Number she used: 210-200-7312. Be aware! Thanks for all the tipps in thsi forum! I'm glad I found out before I shared PayPal information...
