I am being harrased a couple of times a day by these people and I never even took out a loan! I did find out that when i was checking on some short term loans due to money issues they collected all my information and ran with it, saying they deposited the money and they are going to arrest me if i don't set up a payment plan. I never got any money! So people do not fall for this scam. I am going to turn these people in to the authority!! They stole my identity!!!

BTW, they claimed to be from the "State Investigators Office" and the area code traces to New York area. First of all, NO legitimate business would or can legally talk to you like that! I'm sure it's a SCAM! My best friend is a National Private Investigator and he is going to check it out for me...

I have recieved several voicemails from this number telling me that it is urgent that I return the call or have my "retained attorney" contact them. Today I finally had a moment to answer and when I asked the person (man with a thick indian accent) on the line what this was pertaining to he told me I had a lawsuit pending for a payday loan that I hadn't paid back and that they were going to sue me for over $6000 and a possible 3 months in jail if  I didn't pay them. When I asked for the name of the company that I allegedly borrowed money from he got irritated and raised his voice with me. REALLY?!?! Then he told me he couldn't give me that info because the "mother company" was in charge of over 400 online cash advance compaies. I told him I had never had a payday loan and then he arrgued with me. Bottom line, I told him to mail me "proof" and stop calling me!!! Istarted screaming at me and told me "I'll see you in court"! I said, "ok then you will be paying me for harrassment"! And I hung up... To Be Continued? HOPE NOT!!!

just got a call from that number today, did they call themselves the US Investigations Department? Did they tell you that you were being sued?

It is a scam and if you answer it even if they ask for you. Tell them they have the wrong number. Thats the only way you will get them to stop calling you.
