This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ?Spoof Number? ? A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ?press a key? to ?opt out?  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ?log? your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

I've been recieving these same fraudulent calls. They claim that they would like to talk to me about discounts I qualify for on my Duke Energ bill. The calls started off coming every couple of days from three different numbers, now they are calling three times a day.
Today (1/29/14), I've receive three calls, from two different numbers: (216) 239-1766 at 6 p.m. (513) 685-6003 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Yesterday (1/28/14) I received two calls from (513) 658-6003 at 3 p.m. and 11 a.m. The day before that (1/27/14) I receives three calls from (513) 658-6003 at 6:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Before that I was receiving the same calls from a New York number, (914) 530-2290. They called once on (1/23/14) 11 a.m., once on (1/21/14) at 1 p.m., once on (1/16/14) at 4 p.m., once on (1/17/14) at 1:30 p.m. On (1/20/14) I started getting the same calls from yet another number from Arizona, (623) 242-1558 at 1 p.m.

I get called from these people every day, multiple times a day and there is never anyone on the other end so I don't even try  answer them anymore. I am a Duke Customer so there must be some type on connection there where they got our numbers and Duke needs to know about this. Don't theyhave anything better to do than to harass people.

Two calls from that number today. One I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. The second one I answered and they hung up. I called back and the voice mail said to push 1 to get off the list.

Luckily my phone has an option to block the number. I've been getting calls from this number with the same voice message. I just hang up.

Calls from this number have been coming in daily for about a week now several/day.  Wish I hadn't deleted those other calls now but it has been as many as 4.  They leave no message, do not respond when the phone is answered and when called a message plays to be removed from future calls by that number without identifying the caller.  I do have a Duke energy account.

I am getting a call from this number too - I dont answer and never leaves a message. You can call back and there is an option to be put on their do not call list. Not sure if it works but thats what I finally did.

Anon.. i believe they a re scam because they continue to call my cell phone.. I do have DUKE and they do not have my cell# registered on the account only my home #. I have them in reject list. Called 2x this week

It's not Duke - Duke has your account number - they wouldn't ask you for it - this is another discount supplier trying to switch you with fast talk - my research shows they actually are 33% MORE than the rate Duke is offering

Got a call from this number as well. They did not speak, a moment of silence than hung up

They won't stop calling me! It's a Duke Energy thing but seriously the bill, phone number, and all information is in my husband's name. STOP CALLING ME!!! They call everyday.

I called the number back and it said if I wanted to be on the do not call list to press 1. So I did. It said up to 48 hours until it's processed. That's probably a scam.. just a way to verify the number is real :(

This was a call to my cell phone from Duke Energy telling me I have possible discounts on my utility bill. I don't even have Duke utilities.

I received a call from this number, and it was a pre-recorded message about how I was eligible for a discounted rate on my Duke Energy bill (I don't use Duke, nor is it offered in my area). The message stated if I stayed on the line I would be connected to a representative to get my information. This is obviously a phishing scam. I hung up before being transferred.

This number has called my cell phone EVERY weekday this week.  I haven't answered because I don't recognize the number.  I assume that its just someone trying to sell me something.  VERY annoying.

I have received two phone calls: one yesterday, and one today. Both were around 2:30pm on my cell. I will not call the number to find out who it is because I don't want to fuel the fire. They do not leave a message either.

Over the past week or so I received four calls from this number on my cell.  The first two went unanswered by me and no message was left.  The third call I answered and an automated recording was informing me I can save money on my Duke bill.  I hung up as I was aggravated.  After a few minutes I tried to call the number back and received a message that the number was no longer in service.  So today when I received another call I answered and selected the option to speak with a representative.  After waiting on hold for a few minutes a lady answered and immediately asked if I had my Duke bill in front of me with my account number.  I told her no and began to inform her that they are calling my cell and they are annoying me.  She cut me off and then went right back into her script.  I again informed her they are calling my cell and it needs to stop immediately. After apologizing she once again went right back to her script. I cut in and let her know how I could save money on my cell bill if she would stop calling me.  I requested  that my number be removed immediately.  She said it would be removed but I have no confidence that my number will be removed.

I've been getting these calls since last week on my cell phone.  I see the number and don't answer.
