The number is not a local number and kijiji is usually a drive away distance if your are going to buy or sell. I dont know how to stop these scammers.

A guy named Stephen Nelson contacted me about my paintball gun on kijiji saying:

i am Stephen Nelson by Name i'm buying this item for my Daughter and
due to the nature of my job and location...i will not be able to come
for inspection, i'm a very busy type as i work long hours everyday,i
have gone through your advertisement and i'm satisfied with it and i

As for the payment..i can only pay via PayPal online secure payment..I
insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account
online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my paypal
account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it
I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after
the payment has been made ...so no shipping included...

inright away and also include your address in your reply.

a few things... you can just kinda tell by the way he writes he's a scammer and the whole things is pre written... Especially since he trying to buy his "daughter" a 15 pound paintball gun that most guys I've paintballed with found hard to carry after a full day lol. when he says "i am Stephen Nelson by Name " and "I have a private courier agent" and especially "Have a nice day." at the end... you can just tell. Another thing is the entire thing is generalized. My way of testing if its generalized is acting as if he was talking about a piece of sh*t and see if it makes just as much sence as my paintball gun... the answer is yes lol.

This Stephen Nelson guy left me the same message. It sounded too good to be true because he was offering more than I asked. He wants your PayPal account. Do not trust this guy! IGNORE HIS TEXT MESSAGE AND EMAILS.

This same person texted my phone number wanting to purchase my wedding dress for his daughter. He also said not to text him back because he was working.
I explained I wouldn't ship or sell out of province but he emailed back asking for PayPal information to send a payment and that a courier would come and pick up the dress.
The email sent was not a professional looking one but had a lot of "..." in between sentences.
Also used stephennelson900@gmail.com for an email.

Yeah I got him through Kijiji too. I never tried calling the number but something seemed "off". Asked me to email him not text since "he" was at work. We never made it to the part where he tells me how he's going to pay for everything. I told him I searched his number and not to bother me anymore.

I am sellling a prom dress through Kijiji.ca for $300. he sent me a text, he also wanted to send an extra $100, through paypal and a private courier. he gave the name stephen nelson, he types in broken english like someone in an eastern country would. he used the phone number 3018614560 and used the email stephennelson900@gmail.com. he also said "item" which leads me to believe its an automated messaging system, because they never say the item name of what it actually is.he was also too busy at work and was "buying it for his daughter... He also use others phone numbers.. BE CAREFULL.
