This number has persistently called me 3 times a day for 2 weeks now. Never leaves a message and damned if I will call them back! THEY called ME. If its so frikkin important that you call so much, use proper phone etiquette and LEAVE A MESSAGE! Totally rude if you ask me. I plan to just turn their number over as a harrassing call. Maybe I can get the idiiot's phone shut off.....pfft!

This person is persistent and doesn't take a hint. I screen calls and I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. He/she/it doesn't leave a message when the machine picks it up. It would be great if the person would stop calling.

Oh, and btw I worked as a telemarketer several years ago, when I was in high school.  Lots of the companies don't use lists.  The company I worked for had little cards that would have an area code and the first 5 digits of a phone number on the top of a card, then listed on the card would be 00, 01, 02 ... all the way to 99.  We had no idea who we were calling or if it was even a valid number.  This is a time-consuming way to telemarket, but it saves money on having to purchase a list.  If they're using this method then they don't even know that they're calling a cell phone.

I've been getting these calls at least once a day for the past several days.  Today I decided to answer to see what it was (and possibly vent a little frustration) but there was no one on the line.  After reading this boar and the hilarious conclusion leaps from Ratti (they said they were an event organizer so that automatically means they are communists recording our voices under the direction of president Obama!  LOL!)  I called them back.  It says they are Fortune Builders and they have organized a real estate seminar in my area.  Fortune Builders gives seminars about flipping houses.  (Which seems pretty capitalist, not communist, IMHO)  They want you to attend a seminar so they can convince you to pay a ton of money for materials on how to flip and market homes.  The offices are apparently closed for another 2.5 hours so it was obviously a robo-dialer that called.  Or maybe a robo-voice recorder.  ;-)

Was wondering if all the people who are getting this call participate in any political events?  Do you post messages on political websites or internet news sites?  Just wondering because I do and was thinking that some group is seeking information on the people who don't agree with them and they will use that information against you later.  I did not answer nor will I if they call back.

This number has been calling us all day.  When I called back it was obvious they had caller id as they asked for my hubby immediately w/out even saying hello.  When I asked who it was, they said someone named Scott who appears on HGTV. They said it was a recorded call, there was a lag time each time I said something and they responded.  They didn't even want to talk to me, kept asking for my hubby.  When I said he wasn't available they hung up on me.  I called back, I was hung up on w/out the person even saying anything.  I called back; this person again immediately asked for my hubby.  I said I wanted to know who they were, they wouldn't tell me, insisted on talking to my hubby.  I told them I'd been hung up on twice and that was a really rude way to conduct business.  He said I wasn't conducting business, I was just "bantering", and could he speak to hubby.  I told him there was no way he was going to speak to hubby when he treats people this way.  He said fine and hung up before I could tell him not to call back.  Very, very fishy and rude "company".

I have this imbecile calling every other day at least twice.  I cuss him/her a little, threaten and then hang up.
So far I have achieved nothing.  I am contemplating turning this over to the local authorities.

Political Call
I called the number and the guy was very nice. He identified himself as a party planning company for a local Tacoma, WA political representative. I declined the invite and he said Thank You very much for your time.

Same thing happened to me. He said he was an event planner and I asked him how he got my number and he said "hold on, let me check what name you are under, I have you in the computer..Okay, found you. I have you under Miss (insert some mexican sounding name here)". I said "no..that's not my name. You have the wrong number.."
him: "I'm very sorry, please excuse me."
before he could hang up I said "take my number off your list!"
him: "sorry ma'am!--"
He hung up on me! stupid jerk!

Got the phone call at 3:43 PM today. I answered but there was no reply on the other end. SO, I returned the call. My caller ID identified the caller as using a House Phone in Kisco New York. So, I asked the party who answered who he was and why he was calling my number since it is on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST. He replied, "I am in Washington DC and there is an even happening this weekend and I wanted to know you are planning to attend." Between every two words, there was a slight pause. I suspected because of the beep I also heard that he was recording the call. I replied, "Not interested." And hung up the phone. When I first called the nunber there was music playing in my ear and it took a few seconds for someone to answer. I did a reverse phone number lookup and got the address.

Ted,

Most say that it is a Real Estate Siminar. I think ti is something else. Please read my reply to Linda.
My Caller ID located the number as a house phone in Kisco, NY (Upstate New York), yet this guy who answered stated, "Oh no, I am in Washington D.C. and there is an even this weekend and I am calling to find out if you are attending." I replied that My Caller ID identified him as being in Upsate New York (Kisco) but that he says he is Washington D.C. With the present administration in DC, NOTHING  would surprise me.

Yep. I returned the call I got. The address is in Kisco New York. I did a reverse phone lookup and learned the address of this caller and the city he is calling from. The phone is a Land Line and located in his home. When I talked to him, I would finish talking and there was a 15 or 20 second pause before he replied to whatever it was I said. He did say."I am an organizer here in Washington D.C. and I am calling about an event taking place this weekend and I am calling everyone to see if they plan to attend." So, I replied, "You say that you are in Washington D.C. but my caller ID locates you  in Mt. Kisco NY (Upstate NY). So, why did you call my number? It is on the National NO CALL list for the next five years."  He said "I wanted to know if you plan to attend the event". I replied, "not interested". Then, I hung up the phone. Socialist Governments do things like this to positively identify people using phones. How else would that individual have access to such a huge number of cell phone numbers?
My guess is that individual voices are being recorded to match the voice with cell phone calls to track individuals making cell phone calls. In fact, it would not be far fetched to think that this political Administration is behind the calls. Record a voice if someone answers the phone or when someone returns the call and identify the person later if he or she uses encripted phones or non-traceable cell phones. Once someone has your voice pattern, it is even better than a fingerprint. There is no mistaking an individual's voice and it can be picked up even in a crowded room.

I was just called by this person. My caller ID identified the call as being from Mt. Kisco, New York (Upstate NY). However, the man who answered TWICE told me he was in Washington D.C.. How could he be using a land line registered in Mt. Kisco New York and be in D.C.

I asked him why he had called my phone because it is on the National NO CALL List for the next 5 years. He said, "I'm an organizer for an event happening this weekend here in Washington D.C. and I was calling to find out if your were planning to attend."  I replied, "Not interested." Then I hung up the phone when I should have stayed on the line to glean more information from him. The only rally/event that I am aware of the Marxist/Communist/Union Rally that Obama has called for the Capitol Mallon Saturday. The Even is sposored by the Communist Party and other far left marxist radical organizations. Obama will be their Guest Speaker. You can always tell a person by the company he or she keeps.
