This person has a heavy Indian accent and asked if I wanted a payday loan. I said no and hung up. He calle back 3 times so I finally answered. He was SO rude- asking why I hung up, why I didn't need a loan, if I was rich, etc. it has SCAM written all over it!

This same number has came through as 'Help Save Lives', 'Healthy Babies', and 'Anonymous', all turned out to be March of Dimes. I did get a live person after answering Hello 3 times and finally she replied.  She wanted me to mail out requests for donations in our neighborhood.  I told her no because I did it for the 'Heart Association' and got no response from anyone.  She politely took my number off their calling list, but I'll see if that really happens as they have been calling every day for a month.

Finally! "Healthy Babies" called me this morning (Sunday 6/10/12) and I was finally able to speak to a person on the other end. Normally, there is no response on the other end, so I have no idea if it's a charity, etc. I always hang up, yet the phone calls keep coming 5-7 times a week. Anyway, I finally talked to "Roger" this morning who said he was a "professional solicitor for the March of Dimes." I told him to please remove me from his calling list as I was sick and tired of receiving phone calls from this establishment...especially when NOBODY answers on the other end! He said he would. We'll see what happens. I've filed numerous complaints with Do Not Call (1-888-382-1222) so, hopefully, this is end of this nightmare.

Something to keep in mind about all these continuing bothersome calls for surveys, so called charities and so called charity pickups despite asking them to remove you from their list:

Call centers have sprung up in my town that make use of the survey and the charity loophole around the do not call list; they have been a headache for law enforcement, emergency services, neighboring businesses and residential areas.  When I ask any patrolling officer in town about these call centers, they are quick to state their frustrations about the criminal activity that some of these call centers have brought into the area. Several law enforcement agencies regularly visit some of these call centers looking for warrant arrests etc.  I have heard from sources including from frustrated employees that work for these call centers complaining about the drug activity, vandalism of cars and neighboring businesses, break-ins and theft, drinking while on the job, smoke breaks are actually marijuana breaks, drunk driving, very dangerous driving, tons of tossed out litter of empty liquor containers, trash, food etc.  I?ve even heard that the mangers are also involved in criminal activities and have even preyed on their legitimate employees who are simply trying to eek out a living on horrible wages.  Also the operators are untrained in a very high turn around, poorly managed and dysfunctional work environment.

Also realize this when you call a companies? customer service line and get horrible service from the call center that?s been hired by the company.  One time while on a call with our bank?s customer service, the operator was so loopy that it required ending the call and calling again to try and get someone else to help, think about that when you call a companies? customer service and the conversation gets odd, off the wall and obtuse ? you may be talking to an operator that?s drunk or on something.  After 6 months of getting a different and wrong answer to our ongoing problem each time we called our bank?s call center, we gave up and closed the account.

With so little police left in our town due to cutbacks, they can?t always respond to vandalism and break-ins when it?s witnessed as they have their plate full responding to the major emergencies, this allows the criminal activity free reign, the neighborhood becomes the hood.  Some insurance companies require proof of private security patrols before they will honor a claim due to vandalism or theft leaving the neighboring businesses off guard and uncovered.  These businesses also have the added cost to hire private security, install security systems/monitoring, upgrade lighting etc.  Then there are the dangers and headaches to the nearby businesses employees such as their cars being vandalized or broken into.  Some businesses simply give in, pickup and move out of town.

One of my neighbors owns a call center and he requires that his operators are bonded, but I guess there?s no laws requiring this ? there should be.  Right now in my town it seems like anybody can start up a call center and hire questionable labor for cheap without much regulation.

I my efforts the past several years to try and get something done, I am most struck by the fact that there?s no real help, everyone is more worried about being sued than dealing with the obvious problem - you are on your own....

My phone ID brings up Healthy Babies, so if this is the March of Dimes then why when I answer the phone it is dead on the other side??  They have been calling everyday non-stop for 5 weeks!!

I used to do the mailings to neighbors for donations for 6 years and now all of a sudden nothing???  They need a lesson in telemarketing!

The reason a large portion of the people are having trouble with this number is because this number is being "Spoofed" by Delta Outsource Group, a collection agency located in O'Fallon, MO.  They will try and gather enough information to create an account.  Many bank accounts have been drained by this establishment and many "Spoofed" phone numbers have been fraudulently used to aquire information.
This not only hurts people by the harrassment, but also hurts the establishment that the number belongs to.

Note: Insight Services is affiliated with Delta Outsource Group.

Sign into you phone service account online and add it to your personal do not accept list...done   The do not call list is a universal service available to the public.  Call your paid phone service provider and you can restrict any number you so desire.  Also, if solicitors calling is a major problem your dealing with you can always answer and tell them you just got this number and your not person who they are requesting.

I am now getting no more calls. I went to the March of Dimes website and filled out the information to ask a question or make a comment. I wrote what has been happening and I got an answer within a few hours. The answer contained an apology for the calls and a request that I reply with my phone number so he could make sure my number was removed. All has been quiet for the last 3 days.

Caller ID shows Healthy Babies is calling.  Every day, several times.  This morning they called at 8:05am. I believe it is March of Dimes.  I have sent them a letter requesting no phone calls or solicitation by phone but they continue.  The last call I answered from them (about a month ago) I again asked for my name to be removed from the list.  I have always given money 1 time per year but they send requests every 2-3 weeks and just keep calling.  So, no more donations for me.  There are other orginizations I can help instead of them!

After 11 phone calls in 4 days with no one on the line---Finally!! A live person. I didn't give her a chance to mention the March of Dimes.  I told her that the phone calls had been very annoying, had awakened the baby numerous times, and that passing around collection envelopes in this neighborhood does not work. I asked her to stop calling our number---and she still asked to speak to my husband! She finally apologized and said she would forward my request.

Receiving several of these a week.  From this # and 914-294-2161.  Usually there is no one on the other end but once in awhile, someone asks to speak to my wife.  I say she is not home and they say they will call back.  We all know this is the March of Dimes and if we are all smart, we will take them off of our Donation List permanently.  I hate the thought that children will suffer, but the March of Dimes have only themselves to blame.  I, personally, will find other ways of contributing to helping children with debilitating injuries....Shame on you March of Dimes...

People - stop messaging as if the caller sees your message.  Yes, it is MOD, and they are a bonafide charity soliciting donations.  They are exempt from the no call list.  So, . . .  just get caller ID and an answering machine.  Just let it answer all calls you do not personally know.  They usually do not leave a message, and that is that.  End of story.

I called the 800# you listed below (800-996-2724) and spoke to Charlotte Rawlings from the March of Dimes.  I asked to have my number removed.  I didn't like giving my full name with my phone #.  But at least I got the name of the person I spoke with.  Hope this works!  Thanks for the info.

They seem to call and use different charities and political parties to donate too.  They have been calling daily or even twice a day, the last claimed they were from the march of dimes.  To be honest, we usually do not answer their calls but I did this time by mistake.

If you call them back, there is a message ID'ing the caller as the March of Dimes.  The message says to press 1 if you want more information about the organization.  If you do this and listen through the short promo message and wait a short while, you are presented with the option to be removed from their phone call list.  Leave your phone number as directed, and presumably you will get no more calls from this number.  Well worth the minute's effort!
