He offered me more than $200 than what I wanted for an item on craigslist.  I knew then he was a scammer, he said he lived in Texas and was in and out of town.  I told him I would not ship my product.  SELLERS beware of anyone willing to pay more than asking price.  If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

What business has this number?

So this CLOWN Scott Barry called ma aswell telling me he'd give me 100$ more than the price of the item i had for sale and right away i KNEW it was a scam,. but i decided to toy with him...lol asking him where he was (he said TX) i said, "what a coincidence ill be going there next week ill see u" haha and of course he responded with ill be out of the country. And eventually after few back and forths i said " i know ur a scam artist but im on to you and reported it to the authorities in your town ur time is up buddy!!"  ....... and all the texts stopped .....weird!!   ;)

Selling a laptop on Craigslist - same old scam...

Said they would pay 100$ more for what I was offering. TOTAL SCAM. Sellers beware, do not buy from this number. I hope everyone see's this before the do***e bag strikes again. I don't see why people have to try and rob other people of their hard earned money. Just get a job and make money like the rest of us.

I got one too LOL this time they are from nigeria and the persons name is dare kelly. I reported it to the authorities. the address on the phone number came up El Paso TX. they used the email address scottbarry11@yahoo.com

Got a text message from this number this morning. Offered to buy my camera lens today. Told me They would paypal me money but to send it to their cousin for his birthday gift... Got funds from paypal and I noticed it was not in my paypal when I logged in. I called paypal and they told me it was a scam..... BE CAREFUL.... this is a huge scam.

This guy offered me more than what I was selling my thing for! He had me sign up for paypal and then told me the money was there and send the package... I even got a professional looking email that said to send the package and email them the tracking number and my money would be deposited... good thing I called pay pal and they said DON'T DO IT!!!! and good thing I googled his number cause I would've of come across this lovely page that said I almost got ripped off!

you  wil  usually   see  these  shortly  after    listing  a   item on a  classified  site....usually  craigslist /  kijiji   etc..........


the  scam  has  two  outcomes  if  you  fall for  it....


1)  the  scammers    highjack  and   take  over  your own  paypal  account

    AND  /  OR

you  fall for  the  scam ,   mail or  send  the  items ( s)  ....then   the  criminals open a  "  item not  received"  case   through  paypal ................paypal  usually  sides   with  the  buyer , gives  them their  money  back ,  so  the  criminals   gamble  and  hope  to  walk  away  with   free   merchandise !!!

asking if something still for sale.  then offering 100 over its worth, asking for email address and paypal payment.  Then offering a paypal link to sign into your account through the message.
