Caller ID shows "McCain 2008".   Have gotten these calls for weeks, usually from different numbers.  None of the calls have rung long enough (3 rings) to go to the answering machine.  Did a search using "McCain 2008 phone calls" and found an article on associatedcontent.com . Author contacted call center and was told that the hang ups were intentional since it was cheaper for the campaign to hang up.  Apparently,  having "McCain 2008" show up on caller ID was an ad in itself.

On DNC list. Didn't recognize # or 'Paging CA" won't answer.

This phone number calls me ALL THE TIME, and when the answering machine come s on they hang up.  Tried to call the number back, but I got a busy signal.  They have called every day, twice every day, for the last 2 weeks.  Super annoying.

I called it  back, and it rang a few times, then a man's recorded voice said "Thanks for calling, don't forget to vote."  Then I got beeps like an answering machine or voice mail prompt.

Caller id shows Paging Phone CA 916-219-8119.  Caller hung up before answering machine picked up.
