I also got a recorded call from 916-219-8160 saying that this was my 2nd notice that the Factory Warantee on my car was about to expire. They don't mention the automaker or car model - because they don't know!

I heard that there is this scam going on about such call.  I just hung up in the middle of the recorded message.  

916 is a California area code.

Called my cell phone (to which almost nobody has the number of). Just left strange noises for a message.

this area code is from Sacramento. Got a call from this number in which I don;t just give out my cell number to. Did not answer as i didn't recognize it and no message left.

i just received a call from this number at 3:22 PM california time. I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number and they didn't leave a message. 916 is a Sacramento area code.

Have gotten these calls on our home phone and celphones.  Person says that car warranty is expiring, etc.  They took a friend of mine for $199.00 It's a scam

This is a scam. They wanted to warranty my vehicle which has 180,000 miles on it.  They were fishing for a credit card number.  When I asked the name of their company they said it was "American Warranty Coverage" company.  Beware!!!

I just got a call from this number on my cell, but didn't grab it in time. No message was left. It stumped me because no one has my cell number except my family. So I called the number back and all I got was a message saying if I wanted to be taken off their call list, press "1" and that it will take 72 hours to do. Then it hung up. Thinking I made a mistake, I called the number again and pressed "1". Now I'm probably going to get more calls from them. *sigh* I should have checked the number on here first. :(

This scam called my cell phone number. (916-219-8160)  They claimed they worked for "American Warranty Coverage Co" and wanted to warranty a vehicle I had with 180,000 miles on which they didn't know the make, model or year.  They were fishing for a credit card number. this afternoon i got a call from 916-219-8160.  didn't pick up the phone because i don't know who's calling.

This number calls my cell phone and never leaves any message, the missed call says that it is from California.  If it is someone calling about an Auto Warrenty, I own both of my cars out right...so that doesn't make any sense.

Called my cell phone (which very few people have the number of); I didn't answer. It left a "message," and there just some strange noises there.

I pressed one and tried to get someone live, and did.  Alias of Jamie.  She just reads the script, a VEHICLE WARRANTY scam.  I said immediately that I needed her name, the name of her company, and her legal contact information, and she continued to read from her script, stated, AGAIN, that my number would be added to their DO NOT CONTACT LIST, and she hung up without giving me the information that I requested.  I consider this a continuing nuisance call.  But since I had to pay for the time they contacted me, and I want reimbursed, as well as legal remedy.  I signed the National Do Not Call List, and I want formal charges pressed against this entity on its recurrence.  I will forward this URL to the Attorney General of our State, and have them deal with it.  I want a Legal Binding of Cease and Dissist against this Company with no face.  They will call back, or at least they have recalled me... Try and deal with this the same way (or better) than I did, and turn over this information to someone with the teeth to do something about it, within your jurisdiction. Does 800notes.com do any more than just log our information?  And to What End? "800notes.com does not monitor the content and takes no responsibility" - their Terms of Service... Just asking.

These guys are using an illegal sales tactic.  If you push one you will get connected to a sales rep trying to sell you extended warranty for your car.  This in itself is not illegal but opening by saying "this is the second message about your warranty which is about to expire"  I got into an argument with the sales rep informing them that that is illegal.  Anyways just hang up and save yourself the hassle

only a couple people have my#...My Wife, Rogers & the Do Not Call List..just those 3, so it is either Rogers or the Do NOt Call List that is selling our information!!! How many are on here that have either one and is getting calls? first my home phone, then wife's..now my cell!!

I also got a call from this number on feb 3rd but im very suspicious & dont answer unknown long distance numbers; if its important i wait for a message. hopefully i wont get another call back.

Nobody has my cell phone number, but i'm getting like 2-3 calls from weird numbers during school each day.  One is this 916 number, but i'm also getting calls from a 310 and a 415 number.

i'm from toronto, canada.. i got a missed call from this # this morning too.. i just happened to randomly type in this # onto google search, and found this board.. what's going on? =S
