Here's a new number for "Central Heating and Air".   They hung up on me when I asked for a CA contractor's license number prior to their arriving at the house.  Everyone should call them with a silent call.

Think "Home protection"/"Home Security Group," "Card Services"/"Credit Card Services"/"Account Services," "Loan Modification Dept." etc.  All scams. generic names!!!

Noting to do with any well known local heat & air services or either PG & E or SMUD! Also this number (spoofed) has called those out of California as well (robo-dialer was used, message is always pre recorded. Something all scammers use in their scams).

Calling back or pressing a number is NOT a good thing to do as it's a ploy to confirm they called a working number and you will get more, your number will be placed on a suckers list and passed around to other scammers who will also call you and try and scam you.  They all use this underhanded tactic!!!

I am getting calls nearly everyday.  I finally listened to the recording all of the way through, and pressed 1 to make an appointment.  The person I spoke to said they are with a company called Central Heating and Air Conditioning.

VOIP and Cell Phones (As In Disposable Cell Phones) are two things all scammers are known to use along with illegally used robo-dialers, pre recorded messages and Caller ID spoofing (for illegal malicious purposes) ... not to mention incessant and blatant calls to anyone regitered and listed on the National Do Not Call Registry!

Pressing "1" or calling back won't get you anywhere ... at least not where you'd want to be! Doing so will either get a recorded message saying the numbers not in service or that the 'operaors' are busy! What it is is this ... a trick to determine whether or not they reached a live/working number. Which will be placed on a suckers list and not only will you get much more scam calls from thesecriminal scammers but it will also be passed on to the scamming buddies who will in turn also call you and it will never end!!!

3 times these moron's failed to scam me and 3 times they got the disconnected number message ... 3 days in a row!

None of their scam calls ever get through and these a-holes can literally keep trying till hell freezes over!

Their latest stupid attempt got trapped and showed up, on the call list for the service I use to trap these type of illegal, harassing scam calls, in bright red letters indicating it was already blacklisted!!'

And like so many of us, I only use the legit (local) service for Heat/AC repairs (my unit is still on extended warranty and no charge.  Besides it works fine). In other words, directly with them. Same with PG & E and SMUD.  We don't need any one else ... especially unknown callers who spoof Caller ID like these moron's use!

I know the numbers for the company I use for such repairs as I do for PG & E and SMUD, if they aren't on my Contacts list or Address Book they are in the local phone directory ... and None of those numbers match this one. Period! We're not stupid!!! But apparently they must be to think that we'd ever fall for their illegal BS!

Yep, these moron's tried again and failed again! Found out their latest try by checking the call list with the service I use to block these scam calls from getting through. All they got this time (as before) was the disconnected number message. Phone never rang because their scam call didn't get through!!!

They either must have fallen in live with hearing that and the SIT tone or must be getting really frustrated and even PO'd by now ... while I'm sitting here again laughing at another failed attempt by them to scam me. This number appears on the call list I mentioned in bright red letters indicating it is already blacklisted and I also have labeled this number for the scam it is (just like I have with all the others). LOL

This is a scam people, outside of the area code it's spoofed and done so purely for malicious purposes. If I do any business with local utilities it would be done directly with them and not some supposed 'third party' (read that, in this case, scammers). Any special offer would be included with the utility bills and as far as Heat & Air repeat that directly through the business I always have used for repairs which this number is not!

Along with seeing about the call management devices and the above services I mentioned ... continue reporting these a-holes to DNCR/FTC, FCC, Ic3.gov, State Attorney General and U.S. Reps and Senators as well as the local and national media and not to forget let EVERYONE you know about this (and the other) scams. The more negative and especially widespread negative exposure and more complaints about these stupid a** scams the more likely their operations will be shut down (for good) and the slime balls locked up rather than cited/fined/sued which hardly does any good!! In short do all you can to fight back (and, yes, even win) against them!!!

Get calls from this number ALL the time. I finally bought a Digitone Call Blocker, and know I'm not working for them. I researched the heck out of how to block all of the unwanted calls and with elections coming up wanted some peace and quiet in the evenings. This device blocks all unwanted calls and only lets calls in you "invite" so no more annoying interruptions by these scamming jerks. It's worth the $100 trust me. All that happens now is I see a little red light blinking on the call blocker. I look to see who called and guess what? it was good old 916-243-5754 and all they got was a hang up and a dial tone after one ring, which by the way does not ring on my phones. That is a setting you can use so it totally goes silent. NO MORE OF THESE CALLS!

Received a call from this number, which showed up on caller id. When I answered, knowing it was likely SOME kind of solicitor/pollster/charity, a recording started up . . "Attention homeowners . . . " CLICK. I hung up. Where do they get unlisted, unpublished cell phone numbers?

If Sprint is your wireless provider you can log into your account and block voice calls, texts, etc. Just log in, click on the My Preferences tab and scroll down to Block Voice. click on the phone number that received the call (in case you have more than one line) and enter the number. Click on SAVE and it's done. The call will not even ring.

I NEVER pick up on numbers I don't know even if it has the same area code as I do. If someone tries 'calling' and I never have done any business with them I don't not have I ever fallen for it.

I already blacklisted this spoofed number along with a bunch of others with the same area code and yet these moron's still tried ... only to receive a disconnected number message. lol

So ... they must not only be stupid but also desperate as well  because they are now trying other area codes including and more frequently this one rather than those from Washington, Oregon, Chicago, Florida and D.C. and all the others they used before (must have worn those out and everyone has either blocked or blacklisted all the blocks of spoofed numbers from all the other area codes or were able to block each of those area codes), and these idiots aren't able to use them and now they are trying 916! What idiots they are!

Each time they tried with 916 their stupid scam never worked, failed each time because I never once fell for it.

Same scenerio...only I pressed 1 to "make an appt to get my A/C unit serviced". When the guy answered & identified himself, I said "hi (name), how do I go about having my phone number removed from your list?" the b*****d hung up on me. I absolutely hate jack a***s like him.

I get these calls too.  even if you press to be on the do not all list it doesn't work.  I think if you press, it shows you are interested and they just keep calling.

AC systems, eh?  Well, good luck with that.  My cell is a California (business) number, but I live in NW Florida.  That would be a ways to travel just to sell me a service.  I never answer.  They are wasting time.  Lol.

I am getting the same as the rest of the people into this chat. They didn't answer and caller didn't leave a message. When I called back, got an answering machine that says all operators are currently busy. Also, It has been calling me since last 4 days twice per day.

HATE them. Would not identify themselves. Has a very long, slow message about AC and offering A/C services. Press 1 to be transferred to AC company or 2 to be put on their Do Not Call list. I was waiting for the name of the AC company so I can complain but never got to it since I pressed option 2. Stupid callers!!!!!

I get calls multiple times a week and they always end the call when I answer. When call back it is always an answering system.

Called 2:20pm - started leaving message about air conditioner season - blocked with Google Voice

I get calls for a few days in a row at different times, but usually outside of the 8am-6pm business hours.  Then they stop for a few days.  Then start up again for a few days.

Call came in at 11:06 A.M. Caller ID displays "unavailable". I did not answer, caller did not leave a message
