i got the same call telling me that i was gonna go to jail by 12 noon if i did not pay the loan off in full that day. the person told me they would come to my job and pick me up. then proceeded to tell me that they would also get me suspended from my job as well...yea good luck!

I just got the same call from number 9163045606 some Johny Best legal team saying the same thing about a pending law sue, when i call back then hang up on me. do you think this is a scam?

Some guy said he had a lawsuit against me.. When I call back they dont answer.

i just recently had the same mess happen to me. i woke up to a voice mail an panicked. it is the first time i had gotten a call saying i was being sued an police where going to come. i called back but it was disconnected. i then called a friend whom is a sheriff an they said first off, if it is a warrent, you wont get a call, you will get a knock on your door from the police them selves with legalized papers. i called my local SS department an made sure they could keep track of my personal info because the guy gave me the last 4 digits of mine. but they said any one can get the last 4 digits of any ones SS#. they soon later called back about 2 days an left 2 more voice mails saying i would have police on my door steps at 8 am to arrest me, to be prepared an warned...hmmm...well i am here typing this arent i? they are stupid people who have nothing better to do with their time. if you get a call from them, ignore every word. police around here told me they can take the number, an try to call but some how they can tell they are on the line with the feds before they can track the location an they hang up.

i got the same message from this guy   today i didn't understand what he was saying but he told me if i don't call back that legal action was going to happen and good luck. i didnt  call back i type ithe number in and low and behold im not the only one.

I just received a message from a co-worker from a Robin Brown at the Law Office of Johnny Best 916-282-3126.  With all the scams going on, I put the number in the search bar and up came all this stuff.  My co-worker called the number back and asked for Robin Brown the Indian man on the other end said he was not there but he was a senior partner and he could help.  My co-worker told him it sounded like a scam to him and the phone goes dead.  I have tried to call several times today myself since and the line is busy.

I just got a call from them. Talk about pissing me off!!!! Don't threaten in a voicemail that you will have me arrested. LOL! You are out your dam mind! Yes, I to did a recent payday loan, i'm afraid that is where these guys are getting our info. When I called back, I told the idiot secretary and that i wanted to talk to someon there that can speak english, he said, "sir what language am i speaking now?" Fn smartass. Then he transfers me to a "Lawyer", the "lawyer" spent about 2 seconds trying to say something. I interupted - "I want to know you lawfirm name and who the **** you are and why you have my info and why you are threatening to arrest me?" I guess he didn't like my tone. When I try and call them back they just hang up. Hopefully, they are not identity theft f'ers. Don't talk to these guys, they are ****!!! Royally pissed off! I know these calls originate from Sacramento, but doubt they are actually physically located there. If i knew where they were, I'd march right down there and beat the **** out of each and every one of them. Thanks Guys!!!

Its totally a scam cuss that guy out...i didnt even owe a loan...and dude was saying he had evidence and documents when i told em to send the document he got pissed...they are trying to scam money by scaring people....you cant go to jail for unpaid debt...im bout to start calling them...harrassing them...they stoped calling me because i rejected their call once... they know i figured it out...Indian call center ...google phantom debt collectors....they are getting money from people that dont even owe....its really sad..a new way of Fraud...

I recieved the same call from these people..he said his client was making me an example and i was going to be arrested in 2 hours and we were going to settle it in court...when i asked hime for documents because i still dont know what he was talking about he got mad and said i explained to you 4 times yelling at me im like no you didnt you read me rights or something and i cant understand you...he said....im wrinting a subpoena right now and you will be arrested in one hour...i just hung up like um what?!! so that was yesterday, hes called twice today i didnt answer cuz after i google the number and seen everyones post...i just knew something was up...I had a friend track the number
ITS NOT A REAL NUMBER ITS A FOWARD NUMBER....THAT IS JUST THE AREA CODE THEY CHOSE...my friends are going to harass them...they made me cry...i was being so nice but they were pissed cuz i started crying and saying I dont know what your talking about over and over....

your not going to jail, I been getting the same calls ,I just give it back to them , and depending on who the caller is he hangs up, later some-one else calls and we go at it again, they r trying to get quick money, and hopefully no-one has fallen for this scam

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know they are running a scam and report them to the authorities.

I just received a call from 916-282-3126 stating that there was a lawsuit against me. He asked me to verify my social security number. When I declined to give that information he then told me his name was Jack Dawson and he was calling from the law office of John A. Best. When I goggled the law office the number provided was not the one I was given. Its totally a scam!!! I had this happen before when I applied for a payday loan. They called all the time and threatened to have me arrested. Something has to be done.

Received a voicemail today from Officer Jonathon letting me know that I had a lawsuit filed against my "social" from unpaid dept. I called back and a Attorney Johnson told me I owed $409.97 and that if I didn't pay, I would be arrested and no one would be there to take care of my dependents. I needed to pay in cash at either CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, or Speedway with in two hours or else a police officer will be at my door step. I called the local police and they told me it was indeed a scam and to just don't answer the phone. They knew my address and my name unfortunately but that information could have easily been obtained online. As long as you do not give them any financial information or your social security number, you will avoid any harm.

just call that number back and axed for the case number he said the officer:s will have.i sais were are the police is going from i said cal he said my county i asked  whats my county he hung up.

Got a call today form a man with an accent my secretary spoke to him he said it was regarding a complaint of one of my caregivers and he represented Johnny Best Attorneys at Law. When I called him back it said out of service I tried again got a busy signal strange so I goggled it and saw the Blog thanks everyone for your help.

jusgot 9h call from indian sounding man said his name was stephen collins. Told me id go to jail if i didnt give them money. Said cops were outside or on way. I needed to pay him now. This is extortion.i giled a complaimt with ca attorny gen, tx ag, and fl ag were there based.

I recieved this call as well and this was in the matter of minutes because if I don;t know the number I pick up and hang up and they also said three charges and that they have my social and drivers license. This scam is going around because of the payday loans stuff on the internet.

i got the exact same call as you but when he asked me if my last four digits of my social were so and so i asked him to give me the whole social and he started yelling in his indian accent and said i was going to be arrested at my place of work within so many hours if i did not pay

I just got a call today from this number from a man with an indian accent threating me with jail if I did not
pay for a loan that I never even got. My car broke down and I needed money so I looked at those pay day loans online. He called my job threatened me if I didn't pay and said the cop will come to arrest me. I was not thinking and gave personal info to some of these loan sites, and it costed me 30 dollars they took out. I had to close my bank account and open a new one on my lunch break. Thankfully that is all they got from me.

I recieved a call and voicemail at work from "Mark Thomas" who stated it was urgent that I call him at 916-282-3126 regarding charges against my name.  When I called back, the phone was answered with a simple "Hello"...no company name or who I was speaking with. The man, clearly Indian, asked my name and verified the last 4 of my SSN (truly scary). Anyway, he transfered me to the person "handling my file".  When the other guy got on the line, he proceeded to read me an "affadavit" regarding 3 charges filed against me. When I asked what this was in regards to because I never received any such notification, he bega to threaten to throw me in jail. He even said I would be arrested within 2hrs. Well it's now 3hrs later and it's safe to say that I'm still a free woman.  I don't know who these people are or where they get off threatening hard working AMERICAN CITIZENS but they met the right one today!!!

i recieved a call from this number at my work place yesterday stating that it was a lawyers office.i phoned him back today and since i to had applied for a payday loan  thought that it was true at first they said i had did fraud but it seems like they are the ones doing the fraud my loans are current and they stated that they recieved there money so watch out.my son told me to google this number to see what was what,they also threaten me with jail time if i would not pay up.my boyfriend told them where to stick it.

I had to call Dexter Cruz at the above number to find out what charges were going to be filed against me.
I tried to call this number, it rang once and then went to busy signal.  Tried a few more times and the same happened.

i just got the samn damn call about the samething. and the thing is you barley understand what he is saying. how the hell is he just going around getting peoples number. what mostly gives this away as a scam is he got my name wrong. n ive had my number for years and no one has ever called my phone and asked to speak to some one else

Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you" and I have not got a call since, and the number is busy.

But it was the same mumbojumbo everyone else got I had a lawsuit etc etc...

yeah no i called them back about 20 times in the past two mintutes because i asked for a case number and a name of the case and both times the guy hung up on me. he's just out to scare people
