Is this sh*t real they keep callin me on cell and wrk and demand $ and me to get a coupon card to put money on from CVS  They say they are lawyers and Im not sure  what to do?

I received a call from this man today, when I called him back he said that I had an outstanding payday loan and was going to be arrested for 3 felonies if I didn't go to my local Walgreen get this vanilla reload card and pay $495 within 35m of call. I called my Mom told her what happened and she called this man. She said that when she got him, he was yelling at her that she had no right to call his number, and wouldn't let her speak at all.. I don?t care about your $495 I want you to pay more $5000-$6000 .I m going to contact FBI office in your state so they can take you down to the court house to press 3 allegations for stealing the money. When this supposed debt to place I was recovering from a major surgery, and was learning to walk again. I called the BBB and department of finance both said this was a scam. I don't want anyone to have to go thru this trouble. This man made me stress and almost put me in the hospital with a major panic/asthma attack.

I also got a call from this number today.
Said I had violantions on my social number.
Kept asking for my attorney.got mad when Ididnt tell him
Said was sending someone to my address in the morning to harm me
If someone does show Ill call 911
I did apply for some loans online and that's where they got my number.
Most likely a scamm tryimg to hard working people money.

The individuals who call using this number are overseas and have hacked databases to get personal info.  They use this info to then contact people stating they are with a law firm and hope that people are silly enough to actually send them money.  THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!  Unfortunately, because they are overseas, there is nothing that can be done to stop them from making repeated phone calls and they couldn't care less about the FDCPA.  Complaints to the Attorney General or FTC will not do any good.  They spool numbers so the calls can show up from any number at any time (even 9-1-1 or another number that was in your file.)  Just don't answer the phone, hang up on them or change your phone number.

One of our employees was getting collection calls several times a day.  I told them to transfer the next call to me, which they did.   The guy sounded like he was from India and gave me this number as a call back number.  I informed him that per section 805 of the Fair Debt Collect Practices Act, he was not to call this employee at work anymore.  He informed me he would continue to do so.  I explained that if he called again, I would file a formal complaint with the FTC and our state's Attorney General.  The guy said "Go ahead, do it now.", so I conference called him with our AG's office.  The lady there informed me that the majority of these calls are scams.  People outside the U.S. hack into databases (usually from payday loan companies) and then begin calling people who were delinquent at some point hoping to scare them into paying.   The AG's office said to just hang up on them each time they call.  The Indian guy stated he would just to continue to call back so we had the phone that they were calling removed. Debtor's can NOT stick you in jail - they have to go through the court system and get a judgment.

They have called me for about a week.I finally got sick of it new it was a scam.So know I call them to mess with.What a sad bunch of people.

I have gotten the same calls with the same threats even at work. his name is Martin Crew, the name does not match the very strong Indian accent. How do this people get our phone numbers?

I received a call on Saturday on my work phone. The message was from a Mark Wright no business name was given that there was a legal case against me and that I or my attorney needs to call them immediately and if I did not call back he wished me good luck as the situation unfolds.

I get these calls every few months, most are from a gentleman with an mideastern accent who changes his name every time he calls.  Once there was a lady who called who spoke very good english telling me to call another number concerning a court case, I told her she needed to find another job because the people she is working for are trying to scam the public.

I am also getting these calls at work.  They started yesterday, and now today.  I just told got his name, David Clark 916-304-4576 and told him I was now letting the local authorities know bc of harrassment.  I told him not to call again, i didn't get a call right back.  I'm sure I'm not that lucky.  Does anyone know how to get them to stop?  I  hate that it's my employer.

This is a common scam. You should contact local authorities if you're worried but be aware than most of the criminals behind these scams operate overseas, beyond the reach of U.S. law enforcement.

As a technical note, even if you had taken out the loan you CANNOT face criminal charges over failure to pay a loan ? so you can tell from that claim what kind of a crook you're dealing with.

I think we all need to contact our local authorities.  These people have been harassing me for a week.  I have been scared out of my mind.  I am in the process of starting a new job pending a background check and this is the last thing I needed.  I have been out of work and needed a loan, I was foolish and filled out a loan app. on-line.  Later I turned down the loan and closed the checking account.  They are claiming I took the money and there are three criminal charges filed against me.  When I told them it was impossible because there was no place for them to deposit the money, they hung up and would not answer when I called back.  I found it very odd that a legal firm doesn't have a voice-mail.  This is harrassment and fraud!  These scum bags exploit good people who need a little help.  I love how they leave you messages to have you or your attorney call them back.  I have done nothing wrong, why would I have an attorney on hand?

This person is a scammer-do not give in to them. I have received several calls from differnt people claiming that there are criminal charges pending-it is a scam. You cannot be arrested for a debt you owe. Worst case scenario- will be listed on your credit report.

Person claimed to be named: Eric but has a very stong Pakistanian or East Indian accent left a message saying that there are criminal charges pending but this is scam. Ignore this person.

This freak of a human keeps calling and calling he finally admitted he is a scammer and seemed proud of it.  He demands money calls your work and won't leave you alone. He says there is a warrant out for your arrest and you will go to jail you won't please don't fall for this!!!

They called me at 6:40am today. The caller sounded Arabic and was quite belligerent and kept insisting that he had a legal issue that was very important. He also called me by the wrong name.  I have been getting calls and texts from various "nonworking" numbers for weeks, all calling me by this name. This was the first time the caller acted like this, and the first time I could trace the number to a landline. Since I had been getting other calls I was mad and kept interrupting him, asking his name, and why did they keep calling, which made him even more belligerent and rude. I hung up and he called back and left a very long voicemail to call him back immediately to talk about three legal charges being filed against me. I think he said his name but I couldn't understand it. Maybe John Henderson.  I'm not calling back.

I got this call Saturday at my job and I work at a bank the man started he worked for the legal department and that I needEd to respond asap I called the number when I came into work today and there is no answer my manager thought something happened with my bank and it is a scam I could get fired for this...  I need as much information on this guy as I can they need to be caught ¡

I had this number call me and ask for me and told me I have a lawsuit against me and charges are being pressed. I asked what for and he kept repeating me and then told me I have a lawsuit and. He needed my attorneys name. I then told him I'm bot giving him my attorneys name until I know what for. He said you stupid moth******er, you pulled out a payday loan and now action is being taking against you. So police are enroutw and going to be getting to the bottom of this. I am not a criminal I have never taken out a payday loan I have to bad of credit to even try and I am a single mother of four. We need to get to the bottom of this now.!!

I've gotten multiple calls from this number, but not only are they calling my cell phone, but they are also calling my work. How do I get them to stop calling? Does anyone have any ideas?

Person with Arab/Indian accent called and left a message on my cell phone voicemailat 8:22am this morning. I called back at 10:18am and the person who answered stated a law firm name of which I couldn't recognize. They stated I had 3 charges against me and a warrant pending arrest. I asked this person to tell me the charges in detail and he raised his voice and said he couldn't tell me any other information and hung up. I called back and asked for information and where th e loan was taken out at and he couldn't tell me. My fiance could see that I was clearly upset so he said put them on speaker phone and he began to talk to the  guy and he hung up again. At this point I am afraid and my fiance says lets Google this number and see what comes up and it is a scam so he called them back and they wouldn't answer so he gave them a few choice words and told them to come pick me up if they dare. I feel very uncomfortable because these people have my address and personal information.

Hi I am the wife of a wounded warrior..Whom has PTSD badly.. We recieved a threatning phone call saying that he was going to be thrown in jail on 3 felony charges.. Yes was of the middle east accent... I called the actual att. which he said he was.. He of course works out of California (realestate Att). I was also threatened so was my children, If the money was not paid within 45 min Through only Walgreens reloaded card.. I have recordings left on his voicemail from another person Marc Wright... I got the call several times from this number. I have reported this to the FBI and my local police station. Hopefully these sorry SOB's will be caught and punished!!! Plus they are really pissing me off!!!

I received several calls today from this number they said that he was an attorney and that is had a law suit aginst me for bad checks and that they were from California and they were going to send the paper work to the local sheriffs office and that I will be picked up on my job tomorrow these people need to be stopped

Don't bother, you won't get anywhere and they won't have any answers.  However, they may have an amount ($$) the y want you to pay....any charges against must go through channels and delivered to you by a constable.

Hey folks..no need to really worry. As long as you aren't foolish enough to give them any REAL information you don't have to be concerned. These one celled science experiments that have gone wrong are just entry level scammers. They canvass public records and mass call as many people as possible looking for the one fool gullible enough to fall for their scam.
1. Record as much info such as the time and date of the call. If you speak with them write down what accent you believe they have...build a profile for law enforcement.
2. Be smarter...pretend to go along with them...ask them where to send the money or whatever they are asking for ( of course we aren't gonna give them anything or real info) tell the called you'll be right back you need to get the account info..step away and call police on the other line and report it.
Keep them going as long as possible ...try and obtain a address or account they want you to send it to.
3. Give law enforcement all the info...be smarter then them...its not a hard goal!!.
4. Let's put a few behind bars...its a felony to impersonate any gonernment entity or employee..it a felony to use a communication device to commit a crime.
Stay calm and make the best of a bad situation ...be smart!!  I hope this helps
