This is a debt collector out of California.  They also somehow are able to make phone calls show up on your caller id w #'s from your area.  A collector named Jon Vick called from a local Walmart # in my area.

Calls my mobile at all hours of the day and night. Apparently is some credit agency.

11-17-2009 called my home looking for Tom Byers.  A loser who has decided to use my information as contact information. If you know Tom Byers,  Run away, run far away, he is a theif.

This number keeps calling my house for my husband's sister. I have told them she doesn't live with us, never has and never will and to stop calling. The guy goes on to say well this is her brother's number isn't it? I said yes but like I said she doesn't live here, this isn't her number quit calling. Any advice on what I can do because this is harrassment, we don't owe them anything and we have never given his sister permission to use our # but obviously she did anyway, what do I do?

My son has been receiving phone calls from the phone number 916-331-5116 belonging to California Recovery Systems Incorporated. The person on the phone was yelling at my son to get Lucy Duncan on the phone (whom we have never heard of) they I got on the phone and the person continued to yell at me stating I was lying to get Lucy Duncan on the phone. We tried to tell him he was wrong but he became belligerent screaming at me. I would like something done as you can see I have attached a copy to my local news station so they will have record of the goings on of your company and how they treat people. By the way you should Google your company name to see how awful your representatives are treating people.

they don't like it when you call them all day back to back and treat them like they treat you. I called them back so many times they threaten to call the police how is that when called harassing me first that was alot fun, i got on their nerves real bad  try it sometimes lol lol! i'm not even the person they are looking for.

If they have a legit claim against me, then they should be able to send all info regarding this account to my home address, which they never seem to be able to do. Just ignore them, and tell them to 'DO NOT CALL'.  

By law, they can no longer contact me, otherwise I will file a lawsuit against them. Go ahead CRSI... make my day. Don't test me...

This FOO calling from This DUMB s*** company is WACK!! i don't even have any debts and he keeps calling and calling and i finally told him "i'm going to get him back for harassment". So he hangs up the phone. what a prick!!!

There was a company out of New York who also threaten me with a lawsuit last year. They told me I owed $1400 to a pay day loan company that I paid off back in Dec. '08. The guy told me it would cost me $2000 plus $500 for court cost if this goes to court. He had most of my info but he didn't have the right employer because I got a new job a month after I got the loan. The company that gave them my information is no longer in business. They were shut down by the govt. I told them that I had proof and he pretty much called me a liar. So I reported them to the BBB and told them that they were trying to scam me. I told them that I will email them the proof that I paid. So I emailed my bank statement showing that I had in fact paid that pay day loan company the $300 I owed them. I never heard from them again after that. It's possible that the original debtor is no longer in business.

Them forcing to pay now is not allowed. They can't threaten people into paying a debt. They will not take you to court. It's just one of the scare tactics to get people to pay. I'm sure you've heard on the news in the past about how all these companies are just scamming people out of their money. Just file a complaint with the BBB and FCC.  Also you could just not answer the phone, change your phone number, and delete your name from your voicemail greeting if you have one.

I received a called today from this same company and Mark Anthony left a voicemail. Not sure how they got my cell number but I'm not returning his call EVER. I'm sure it's all one big scam. I'm not even in debt, so I have no clue why they would be calling me.

I just received a call at work... he didn't use my last name.  Accused me of authorizing a $500+ payment to some company I have never heard of and said when they went to withdraw it, it wasn't there.  I asked which bank they were withdrawing from and he wouldn't (couldn't) tell me.  When questioned he said it was from 2008.  He said I told the company I worked for the US Forest Service, that I lived in Round Mountain and he asked if my SSN had the last four digits of 1075.  All of this information was incorrect... I didn't provide him with anything other than telling him it was incorrect and they had the wrong person.  He said thanks and hung up.

This company allowed an employee to use their business line to call me and falsely represent himself as a private investigator. The employee is a cousin of a person whom has conned and defrauded several women including myself in the Sacramento, Ca. area.

Do what I do. Ask them to correspond with you in writing only. You're not refusing the debt, nor are you acknowledging the debt.

Got a call on my cell asking for my brother. I simply told them there was no one here by that name, which is the truth. They got off the phone quickly when I reminded them that it is illegal for them to discuss someone else's financial information with me unless I'm a designated representative of said person.

What I did was contact my bank and told them what was up. They asked for the Company's name, and then decided they could take care of the problem for me, they suggested I only needed to change my account number! it took 1 minute, 3 days later I recieved my new ATM card, and one day after that I recieved my new pin. The bank says if they want to prosecute, they could take me to court, but they weren't getting any more of my money, especially if I thought this may be a scam. Now, if anyone using California Recovery tries to take any money from anyone's account they will no doubt get a alert, and "capture" the clients card automatically!! Finally, some good news.

Yes, lets report them. I don't know exactly how to do that with the BBB, but I did file a report with the FTC last week.

These people threatened me with a lawsuit, and wanted my bank info. Now I found out that the original debtor wrote my debt off and are not persuing me. This company, California Recovery, bought my debt for pennies off the dollar and are now calling over and over again threatening me with court and a charge of fraud, which is a felony. They informed me that not paying a debt was in fact the same thing as writing a bad check, and if I didn't pay now, I would end up owing over $2000 when this case goes to court. They even repeated my SSI number to me! I'm scared, but not working. Not sure what my next step is.

I had this man call me from the following number 916-331-5116 stated that his name was Brian and that I need to pay my bills and hung up on me.  He was a very rude but I went and called him back and he put another man on the phone named Richard.  He got to talking crazy to me and I cursed him out.  They got me so twisted.  I asked them to send me something in the mail and they stated that they couldn't it could be emailed once I made some arrangements.  I will be filing a complaint and they won't be calling me anymore on my job.

I just made a settlement with this guy named John Vic. I got so fed up that he called work everyday. So i decided to make a payment arrangement. How will i stop him from getting money from my bank account?

After picking up and realizing this was some sort of collection agency or sales call I hung up and a manager from the number:  19163315116  called back.  I had no knowledge of the person he was trying to contact and after informing him of such he abruptly hung up.

Someone keeps calling me 4rm this number and they keep asking for someone I don't even know..

I keep recieving many phone calls daily from this same number making various claims such as "this message conserns your account" or a check that you wrote, or concerning an important business matter. Today I recieved a call that they wanted to talk to me about my husbands " check" (he doesn't have a checking account) and informed me that they are working for a lawyer and have already talked to his employer about his pay checks, but he wouldn't give me the name of the lawyer. He said his name was Matt Battle. caling from 916-331-5116.

they called asking for someone and i said i was not that person and they insisted on howlering that person name at and then hung up phone in my face so you what i did called them for at least an hour back to back and hanging phone up on them. they did not like that at all for someone to do the same the do harrass people and half time they are even calling for the right person and want to call themselves being rude.

I have been having problems with them as well. They called my work and lied to the receptionist to get her to patch the call through to me, aftr I requested that they NOT call me at work, or during work hours because I cannot receive personal calls unless I am on a break or lunch, they proceeded to callme. When I asked for the full name of the company and address and for them to validate my debt in writing, the man I was speaking with told me he was just going to put through a garnishment order and hung up on me. I was willing to make payment arrangements, but I have learned never to do anything without having something in writing first, that way they can't just get your account information and debit whatever amount they wish, that is the main goal of companies like that is just to maintain your information. Once  you give a company permission to debit your account, it is difficult to dispute the charges, even if they take out more than what you owe, ujnless you have proof of the agreement in writing. I contacted an attorney who helps stop credit harrasment, and his services are free and he said he's dealt with scavengers like this and not to worry about them. The best thing you can do is call the original creditor and get the information of the collection agency they stole your debt from and the actual amount of your debt, by law if you request it they have to send you EVERYTHING related to your account in writing.  - Do not settle with these people unless they give you FULL validation and a verification of your repayment plan, which they won't.
