I keep getting calls from this number, and various others...one even tried to tell me he was a US Marshall (Which I reported that number)...so now I answer and instead of saying anything I just start hitting buttons on my phone so all they hear is noise.  I figure they will eventually get tired of it....and if that does not work, I will get a whistle.....You don't scam me

I got a call today saying I was approved for a 5000 loan

I got a message also telling me the same thing and that I will be arreseted in 2 hours and good luck and may God help you if you do not pay.
I found all these messages about  the phone number and called them back and let them know that I reported them to the FBI and that they have their number and are going to be arrested in 2 hours

I just recieved a call and they had my date of birth, address and threatened to have me arrested

okay a DAVID SMITH just called me from 2 numbers and yet when i call back to question them they hang up?? after they have already threatened me and now they are calling my job.. i dont know what to do

I received the same message as everyone else has and when I finally called back, he proceeded to read from a script that sounds like the same one everyone else has heard. Said I owed over 5000.00 for a payday loan. When I started asking about the amount and saying that I couldn't understand half of what he was saying, he got ride and said, " that's not my problem". I kinda figured it was a scam because he said his name was David Smith. Every David smith I have ever talked to sounded American, not Indian. Glad I googled the number and found out what I have so far.

recieved numerous calls from 916-554-8526, very rude and threatening and foreigners to boot

Have had several calls from this number stating I have a bill have not paid. If I don't pay wiil go to jail. Also said I have a lawsuit against me, but haven't had any paperwork served yet. Just bogus calls. Plz don' give out info they claim they have.

got a message and saved it from 9165548526 stating that my name and my soc.security # is being suied and they said good luck with the out come if i do not respond my cell is 9512138356

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

They have been calling me for a week saying i got a loan and if i dont pay or go to court that i will be arrested how do i make them stop

This is an obvious scam because they tell you that the only way you can pay is with a green dot money pack card because they are untraceable and you can't get your money back from them!

i got a call about a law suit againist me

I got a call today from same number.He told me that you borrow money from my client and did not return,So either settle out of the court or you will be in Jail in next 2 hr.

Just got the same call - when I asked them questions and they became very rude. When I told them that they hung up.  Reporting to my ag office if they call again.

I got this same call tody telling me I borrowed money from a check place and I stole their money ad I am being arestted tomorrow!

Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  It is illegal to call threatening people with arrest.  If they're calling about a debt, then it's unlikely they actually have proof you owe this debt (or the debt is most likely even bogus).  

Never pay anyone unless they MAIL you a debt validation letter proving you owe this debt to them, and that they are licensed to collect debts in your state.  Read about the FDCPA and learn your rights.  

Next time they call, let them know you've reported their calls and the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls the scammers make to you.  Don't let them scare you into paying anything.
