this number has been calling me daily for days, hangs up when I answer or my caller ID shows it has called.  I called back and am told the Google Voice subscriber is not available.  I do hope they catch this one.....seems as though nothing can be done from my end.

Telemarketers from this number call three and four times a day, and want to offer "an energy audit" and send someone to my home to gather financial information.  They robodial and have a recorded message.  Illegal in California.  Also they call "DNC" numbers.

I ask some questions like the name of the company, and they hang up.

Google, you gave these people this number.  When the Berkeley Police call you to learn the compnay, please let them know; The Berkeley Police are proactice in preventing elder financial abuse and identity theft.

Robo calls are illegal under CA law.  Also these folks ignore the "Do Not Call" lists.  Today they called three times, and I kept them on the phone long enough to learn that:
* they claim to offer energy services for "qualified" customers, such as energy upgrades, solar energy, energy audits

*they claim to be associated with Pacific Gas and Electric and other companies

*the women that called are named-Christie and Evangelina

They wanted to "set up an appointment" to come to my home and "see if I qualify", e.g. probably obtain financial information for some scam or other.

ATT denies that this is one of their telephone numbers, so did not know the ownership.  Apparently Google owns it.  Google should be able to identify the owners.  Perhaps Google will disclose the owners to the police.

These idiots just called me and hung up.  Be assured that I will no longer answer calls from this number.  Also, I have listed my number with www.donotcall.gov

filed a complaint with google, refered them to this web site to review all the complaints. they will look into the matter.

Have received 4 calls in the last  three days from this #, 916-905-2196. No messages left, 1 hang up and no one on the other end. Quit answering and calls seem to have stopped, none so far today

This number has been calling my house as well I just used my phone and blocked them from calling who has time to deal with people playing on the phone now a days.

They called twice today.  I answered because I'm in that area code.  Both times, I got a dial tone when I answered.

Called here twice today left no message. Second time I went to pick up but they'd already hung up.

Thomas - Google is not calling you.  This number is a Google Voice number that is owned by a Google subscriber, and they are probably using the number for their own marketing purposes. Google is merely the provider of the phone service, not the actual entity calling you.

Please stop this number from calling. I'm not interested in Google.

Getting daily calls now from 916-905-2196.  I do not answer and no message is left.  Out of curiosity dialed the number and automated message "The google voice subscriber you have dialed is not available".  I hung up before message went any further etc......probably yet another Scam, solicitation or such
