It probably won't work. Just lets them know it's a valid phone number. Better to just ignore it, and hopefully they'll give up.

I keep getting texts for free ipads. I called the number and how convienient of them not to have a voicemail box set up. So I sent them a text saying if you don't stop texting me I'm going to the authorities because you are threatening me - I don't know you.
