just noticed this number on call display; did not leave message

Funny thing is, when I call this number back, it's to a residential number (or so the voicemail alludes you to think)

I just received 3 calls from this number: 917-345-2734 where they also asked to speak to the maintenance manager. I asked what it was in regards to as we don't have a manager as well - she continued about lighting & electrical supplies and I told her if she was calling to promote products or request a survey that we weren't interested and remove our number from their database. She called back 3 times asking of the office manager, which, ironically is myself and each time she called, she hung up.

Called today asking for the maintenance manager.  I said, "Go ahead" as we have no maintenance manager.  She proceeded to offer me Petro Canada Gift cards. I cut her off saying "we're not interested" and hung up.

I got a call from this number on May 16, May 19, and today. Went to voicemail first two times, no message. Today I answered and no one responded.

Got a call from this number today for the first time (I think). A few seconds of silence, but then the caller told me he was from Telus and told me my number had been picked in a "special promotion" to get a free phone and new rate plan. When I said no, he offered to have someone come to my house and show me how the phone works...called Telus immediately and they had no idea what this guy is talking about. Not sure what the deal is...

I'm getting these bizarre calls too, daily, with no VM. Sounds like many of us are. I am a Torontonian as well, and like many others, I looked up the number (411.ca) and the only info I got was that it is indeed a New York number. Leave us alone 9173452734!

Just received a call from this same number, went to VM, no message left, just hang up-After reading all the comments above, I will check the website and try to remove my number off of the list. Thanks for the tip.

I called Rogers to complain about this issue. So far every time they call me I ask to take off my name from the list. The second I tell them to get me off the list, they hang up. I have called Rogers and threatened to report this to CRTC, which I will after the 8th harassment on Sunday like that. Rogers representative said they'll investigate the issue and gave me "president's number".

This number calls us almost daily.  We make a habit of NOT answering any unknown numbers -- this number never leaves a message, but it has become extremely irritating.

I was on vacation for 3 weeks and received almost daily calls from this number while I was away. No VM, just hang ups. I also live in Toronto.

Im going to be honest here, i usually bait telemarketers and waste thier time. This dude gave me the same story, and then asked for my social insurance number, which is blatantly illegal.

Same here. Caller did not talk when I picked up the phone. Hung up as soon as he heard my voice. I live in Toronto, Canada.

Called asking me by name.  I said who's calling.  He said John or Josh, I said, who are you calling on behalf (and he really played dumb about this) -- finally, he said he was calling on behalf of Telus offering me some kind of bundle.  I said, how did you get this number when it is a private number, he quickly hung up.  Why?  Why is this allowed?
