I have been getting many bozo calls from those numbers with the same area codes and prefixes. Doing an internet search, it is determined that those are hucksters propagating their scams, goofiness, and attempts to rip people off of their hard-earned money. I have been ignoring, warning others about the phoniness, and in some cases reporting. There are all kinds of gimmicks involving winnings, lotteries, gift cards, vacations, cruises, and the list goes on. These telemarketing hucksters need to get a life instead of pestering people!

Some kind of scam.  They called my mobile phone, which I did not pick up.  The voice mail message was automated: "Press 1 now to speak with a tax specialist.  Again, if you have tax problems, they won't go away, so press 1 now for a free confidential tax settlement analysis, or press 3 to opt out."

No company name or telephone number provided in the message, just the prompt to "press 1" or "press 3".  Reported the number to the FCC.

Debt Collector
Received a call from this number on my cell phone something in regards to a "WAC Alert" and that the IRS could audit me for debts greater than $10,000. Only gives 2 options: press 1 to connect to a representative ( which got me no where ) and press 3 to opt out.

My call arrived at 8:46pm, waking me up from an early sleep. Ridiculous!

I reported one of these telephone numbers to the Washington State Attorney General, who sent a letter to one of these so called "debt collectors", "Gift Card Winner", etc.

They (Allied) reported that their "client" placed the complaint about my so-called "debt" but that the complaint had been "withdrawn".

First, a big THANK YOU to the Washington State Attorney Generals Office, who took this matter seriously.

Second, I recommend EVERYONE who gets one of these calls reports it immediately to your State AG for action.

Third, contact your telephone provider and file a formal complaint with them. They have a vested interest to keep their customers happy and to continue service with them.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

If you fail to take action, these fly-by-night businesses continue to flourish.  And yes, they will up and move, change their name and tactics, but eventually, they will be caught or the money needed to continue their business will dry up.

SO, TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR HANDS AND WRITE YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND CONTACT YOUR PHONE PROVIDER!

Telemarketer
Portion of message left on voicemail:

"Guess what, you've been qualified to receive a 25 dollar Home Depot card in exchange for reviewing the discount shopping club. For all the details on how to claim your gift card press one now to speak with a live agent for this limited time offer."

So much for the national DNC registry. And hooray for call block.

WCA subscriber services on one of the nearly infinite phone numbers they use.  Only Jerry Lewis' tote board has seen more numbers.  WCA must stand for "We Certainly Annoy".  PUH-LEEZE leave my phone alone.  ET can't phone home if you're always tying up our phone lines with your incessant calls!!!!

Answered it and it was a recording saying to press 1 to accept my free $40 gift card. Probably charges a ton of money if you actually press it.
