Anytime anyone of these collection agencies threatens by stating they will have you arrested, DON'T BELIEVE IT.  Collection issues are civil matters, not criminal.  You can't be arrested for failure to pay your bills, unless of course you owe that money to the government.

These are scare tactics and many are illegal in and of themselves.  No reputable collection agency would threaten arrest.

They kept calling my job harassing me about a payment. I have not received any letters from this company. I told them not to call my job anymore.  I would sue them. I am not obligated to pay anything if I don't have anything in writing.

I got the same call last week.  They kept calling my job. I had to call them yesterday and tell them if they call my job again, I will sue them and their organiztion.  His name is Sam Johnson. They asked me if I wanted to handle the situation or not. I told them I will pay $50. They said no, I will have to pay $200.00. I told them no.  They hung the phone up on me.  It seems like everytime I call, the same person answers the phone.  Anyway, I called them back and asked them what was their address because I was going to file a lawsuit and he didn't give it to me. He told me he will give me their fax number. I have not received any letters or anything. He threaten me to a police will pick me up from my job and have I been picked up before.

I just got the same call and the same result. The put me on with a manager (I think was the same person) who ran through the same speel and then they hung up on me when I told them I wanted their contact information so my lawyer could contact them. Although they told me it would be over $7800 blah blah blah. They said 'we have your social security number'. I told them so what! A persons social security number is easier to get than an unlisted phone number. SCAM!! Jan

I received a call from Financial Crimes Protection stating that they were calling to verify my information because I was going to be picked up from my work or home for a cash advance over the internet done back in 2005?  They indicate that they were going to prosecute to the fullest of the law and that I was looking at having with fees, court cost, etc $5160.09 to pay or if I wanted to settle out of court they could mail me a settlement agreement for $2800.62.  Of course when I asked them for proof of this so called cash advance, they told me it was too late and they did not have to provide proof.  The call was being recorded, and of course did not disclose that at the beginning of the conversation.  When I asked where I could call them back they gave me a number 917-464-2531 but my caller ID showed 213-986-4190.  Has anyone heard of this?
