If you get a call from this # and they said they are a law firm trying to collect a debt, don't believe it. IT IS A SCAM!! They have a NY address, but I called the NY State Bar Association, the so-called attorney is not registered with the bar association and a search of the law firm came back empty. They told me if I didn't pay they'd contact the court to serve a bench warrant, but when I pressed for the court that the case was filed with the so-called attorney started yelling. I've reported it to my local sheriff and will be reporting it to NYPD after the holiday.

hi norma,i was scammed to smithfield&ross,$6,200.i filed a police report new york city,called the fbi,and federal trade commission.nobody seems to be doing much about these terrible nasty scammers,its a long time they are doing this and i do so want them caught so bad,i will try to contact district attorney andrew cuomo office,pass on to other people don't give them a dime,call police right away on them,sooner or later they will be wearing numbers on there back

I was scammed by them November of 2008 for over $9,000.00.  I am so mad at myself for being so stupid - they were very good.  They are still telling me they are sending me my money back, but now I can't even get anyone to answer at all.  I have tried to go to the police but they said I needed more proof and I tried to get the FBI involved, but they said that I needed to file a police report first.  I am hoping that my showing them this site and one for 866/407-0240/917-470-9273 (newest number)which names names, they will decide it is worth them investigating.  I don't want Smithfield and Ross scamming anyone else - these economic times are so awful and people are having it so hard just to make ends meet, it makes the crime much worse.

I received a phone call from someone saying he was a lawyer and that I would be served  and my paycheck would be garnished for money I owed to a credit card company who he would not furnish the name of to me. Once I started questioning things and wanting to know which credit card company had filed a complaint against me he became irate and started yelling at me. I did not pay and I have not been served with any papers either. This is a scam and I hope justice happens to this person who is scaring people.
