I got a call from this number today. "Mac Williams" had an Indian accent. I asked him to remove me from his call list and he said he was with the health department and it was about a medical claim. I just hung up at that point.

Just got a call from this number--did not pick up, and glad I didn't after checking everyone's posts...You'd think they'd give up after 4 years. Obviously people are falling for the scam if these callers are still at it!

From the rest of the comments through out the thread, more like a scam call. Yours sounds like extortion scam. Others have gotten the loan extortion scam, and others here have had you won money scams. So doubt its a spam call!

Female with a thick accent. Stated a number different from the caller ID and threatened that we should call her back or would be seeing "legal action" soon. Seems like a scare tactic to get people to call back to hear SPAM.

Got a call from (917) 522-1822 that was a recorded message saying my MasterCard was missing and to push 1 to be connected to an operator. I pushed one and it hung up on me.

I get these calls every day. Why don't one of you computer geniuses out there create some kind of tracking program that will tell a person the address that the Scammers are calling from. I know that I would pay for it just to track these people down and f**k them up..........

Guy with strong Indian accent saying he was from Public Service stating I can receive 20% off my utility bills every month.

If you have been receiving calls from odd numbers, here is some information that will help you. The calls are real calls by real people. These are mostly from people who may know you. What they do is download a number change app like text plus and make their disturbing calls. The numbers change every time you download the app to your phone. There is a 5% chance that the calls are people who don't know you and just have called your number by mistake.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Web Link Solutions using this number. He wants to use a stupid script on me to sell me internet service. Could hardly speak English, couldn't even get my business name right. It is super annoying because he is just reading a script without even hearing me yelling at him to stop calling me. Scammer have strong Indian accent.

I have been receiving numerous calls from this number every day for the last week. No one speaks they just wait a few minutes and "click" hang up. I have called this number back and the operator says that this number is no longer in service. The call comes up as "Hudson Highland". It is the most annoying thing. It is 3:30pm and already I have gotten 8 calls today.

dsdacfdsccccHIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

ust had a call from this # (917-522-1822) - Who is this and how do you stop it? I started to look up the area code as it was not familiar to me and then all this showed up. I will not be answering calls so maybe it will stop.

Received a call from this # yesterday. I listened for about 15 seconds and acted like I believed the jacka$$ on the other end. Broke out in pseudo tears and started screaming into the phone "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WHY DO BAD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME??" Started into a litany of fake complaints such as 1) my pet rock ran away 2) air fern died 3) the horror of removing glitter nail polish 4) not getting sauce for my McNuggets in drive thru 3 months ago 4) Full House not being on the air any more 5) how scary Lady Elaine Fairchilde was on Mr Rogers Neighborhood, etc.

I received a call from this number minutes ago. (8/27/13 8:00 AM) I was told by a female with a strong Indian accent that my computer is receiving malicious downloads. When I informed her I have a Mac she apologized for her call and terminated the call.

They keep calling my cell phone and work number with disgusting language. It sounds like an Indian accent. They claim that I owe them money from a cash advance from 2010 ???? I've checked my account just to be sure and I have never recd anything. They haven't called since 2011 and just started up again today. There has to be somethinkg done about this.

This number called me 1(917)522-8387, telling about immigration to Australia. The first caller was a male Indian with strong ascent and recently a female with a European ascent. When the first caller called, he said a lot of things and when I asked him about the name of his company, he couldn't answer but kept on blabbing. While the second caller seemed to have called another day to clear-up the previous mistakes like a pro. The call was from NY, USA.

I did not pick up this phone call and appreciate everyone else's information. Don't know why they are calling me since I have a MAC and don't even use Windows!
