Looks as though they have started their scam in the UK now, I've just missed a call from +0.

My story is similar, they can barely speak english, they have called me I don't know how many times. I have blocked their number. But they just call back from a new #. They have told me to go f*** myself when I ask for their supervisor or address to their location. Really now, don't they have anything better to do.

They said I had one hour to return their call and I should not ignore their phone call because I would regret it. Empty threats.

I got a call from them today.  I know it's a scam - and I always tell them that If you are investigating me you have all the info you need, and please send me something in writing - if you're not willing to do that then you can stop calling me.  They get really offended when I tell them I know they're running a scam.

Just recieved a phone call from John Thomas -heavy Indian accent- stating I am being investigate- I ask for their NC attorney license and then hung up - He called back stating the same information. I said "bXXX sXXX" and then hung up on him  - they had my cell and work number. that was at 1023 and 1026

Called me twice at work and left message - could hardly understand them - they said it was urgent and something about the state and my social security number

Stupid people - they called me several weeks ago. Just tell them you already know it is a scam and laugh at them. Tell them to go ahead and send someone out to serve you or arrest you...you will be waiting. Or tell them to put someone on the phone that is in America and speaks fluent English.They will stop calling.

I started receving the same calls starting two days ago.  It had the same guy with an accent and the BS about social sec. and state investigation and attorneys, etc.  I immediately got suspicious since 3 of his calls were around 7 a.m. my time and I know that it is illegal for collection agents or telemarketers to call earlier than 8 or nine I think.  I think they somehow steal info from payday loan application sites.  As a result of cancer recurrence I had massive medical expenses which my insurance didn't cover and I was forced to take a couple out.  I have paid all off except one which I have contacted.  I also checked and none of the loan issuers were in NY which is where this number is located.  I am positive he will try calling again and I will not let him threaten me.  I will legitimately threaten him and their scam.  I am a Berkeley law school graduate and even I have gotten stressed from these calls which I don't need with my medical condition.  Unfortunately, I haven't taken the Bar exam yet due to cancer diagnosis, otherwise I would sue them myself.  If he doesn't call tomorrow, should I attempt to call the number and give them a piece of my mind or should I wait for them to call me again?  I have saved all their messages as evidence.  Any advice would be useful.  I am very grateful for finding this site and all your complaints.  Your testimonies have greately reduced my stressed which will reduce my need for Valium.  I have pain now and have to go take my medicine.  I think they should pass mandatory minimum sentencing laws for people like these scammers instead of casual drug users who get long prison sentences instead of getting treatment.  Our laws are sometimes upside down.  Thanks for reading my Rant.  Have a great day and/or evening.  Health, Peace and Love to all..BerkeleyLawGrad

Today I received a call from 917.639.5580. And the man that called had a very heavy Indian accent and said that I was under investigation. A state investigation! I am so very scared! I was shaking! I called back and they never picked up the phone! Luckily I Googled the number before I went ahead and gave those bad words any $$! Horrible people out there! Makes you not want to ever answer the phone! I am going to get to the bottom of these idiots! They NEED to be stopped!

Do not give any information do these people, don't even converse with them.  It is a scam.  They got your information from an pay day loan you probably did on-line. Your information was sold to them by the loan broker.  They assumed you obtained a loan and use that pretext to threatened to arrest you, all BS they only want more info such as your mother's maiden name, three digit security card, etc... from you so that they can tap into your account.  They use a majic jack service for multiple calling.  It is my understanding that the FBI is investigating them, but good luck trying to track them down.  I suggest you put an alert on your soc sec # with the three credit reporting companies  Equifax, Esperian, and TRW.  Good luck all

I called back and told them they are a fraud and a scam and to stop calling me!

i GOT A CALL to my work and cell phone. He left message stating i would get an arrest warrant and they would go to my house or work. They keep thretening and i dont even know who they are. They alwasy curse and say obsene things. Its frightening and at the same time its dumb. I am on the no call list but they keep calling. what to do?

Called me and threatened litigation, I laughed, but later thought I should report it.  I am a retired police officer, owe no debts and, can only imagine how the vunerable would be stressed, frightened, etc.  It was a very threatening call and in my career theats didn't scare me much, they just made me angry.

I got a call from this number and they called again and it showed up on my phone as emergency number 911!  I called them back and got hung up on four times!  They said there was a law suit on my social security number and I said can you tell me what that social security number is?  and they said oh sure, and put me on hold then hung up.  Another guy asked my first name which I gave and then for my last name which I declined until he gave me information on what company I was speaking to, and I got hung up on.  Lovely for them to fake the 911 cause I can't block that out on my cell!  evil!!!

Caller states that this is a call about a serious problem.  The person has such a heavy accent it is hard to understand him.  Received similar calls a few months back from a different number saying the samething.  This is a SCAM!  They are trying to get personal information and money from you. Tell them you are reporting them to the FCC and hang up.

I keep getting this number calling me and they don't speak alot of english. They say that is from drnc law firm. the number they call me from is 917-639-5589 and then they call me back with unknown name 911. Just in the last hour they have called me 8 times. They are rude and when i ask them questions they hang up on me.

I recieved a call on my cell first from 917-639-5580 with a message saying it was from an attorney's office and that was social security number was under investigation. And the message was left by a woman with a foreign accent - Indian. Then they called me at work and got me on the phone. From what I could decipher the lady I spoke with (who said she was a special investigator) said that my social security number was under investigation and she said my whole social number. Then she proceeded to rattle off my full name, address, date of birth, driver's license and place of work - and they were all correct. The lady told she was calling in behalf of Cash Advance American whom I had taken a $9000 pay day loan from - which I have never done. Only had 2 loans in my life! She told me if I didn't pay the loan they would issue an arrest warrant today, I would be in jail for 9 months and they were to take me to court for three charges - which I couldn't understand. I was very upset after this lady several times threatened me with an arrest warrant, jail time and fines - not to mention just in general being rude. I told her I would file a report - because I guessed this was a scam - and that she should be ashamed of herself. I am doing as Scott - a previous commenter - did and calling the Trade Commission, Attorney General's office and filing a police report.

I just received the same message saying and his name was also Phillip Davis. I think this is a scam and I am not returning his call!!!

I just received a call from these people stating that I had a complaint filed against me and that it was urgent that I returned their phone call. I also received a call from a number in California about a month ago and they said the same thing. When I looked up both numbers I came up with complaint from other people just like these. I have a coworker that they called her son and she said that once she told them she was reporting them to the FBI they never called back. I have not and will not call return their phone call, nor will I give them any of my personal information. These people can't even speak English well why would I want to trust them. These people are commiting fraud and they need to be handled....

If you have ever filled out an application online for a payday loan, that is how they have all your information. Even if you did not get a loan but, you filled it out.... they will call you and say you owe them because you never paid back the loan. This is a scan and DO NOT GIVE IN TO IT!!!

I have gotten calls like this for a long time.  Different numbers but the same outfit.  When I ask for the documentation, they say it is filed with the court and they do not have it.  Besides, you can't be arrested for a debt.  Anytime a judgement is filed against you, documents have to be presented to you.  Today, he kept asking for my attorney's number.  I told him I wasn't going to give that to him and have the documents sent to me and I will deal with it.  He just goes back to asking for my attorney.  These will always be "payday loans".  For example, USA Cash Advance.  9 times out of 10 these "loan companies" are not lenders, they are marketing places.  Also, they typically don't have your full SS# they just have the last 4 digits.  My boss has even told them not to call here anymore.  I work for attorney's.  It is annoying but they will eventually give up and move on to some other person.  Do not send any money via any means.  They are always foreign speaking.  Get back in their face by whatever means necessary.  It will just piss them off.  But who cares?

i got a call as well several months ago as well threatening to call my employer and send letters. I just recieved more calls from them this morning on my cell and then they called my work. left a message saying agin they were from a lawyers office. I returned thier call only to get hung up on again. The man in a very strong accent said the lawers name was BASIN. I continued to tell him that he cannot call my employer and demanded to know what and who they were he hung up on me over and over again.

Same deal.

For people that are getting these calls I just got the call and this person left me a threatening voice message then I called back and that person knew who I was had my last 4 numbers of my social security number my number and name and who else knows what they have.  And just starts threatening telling me I am going to jail and an officer will come get me.  I have gotten these calls before they will eventually stop my suggestion is call your local FBI and tell them whats going on.  These people will not stop unless people report them to local authorities.

First i received a call last week from the number 3233319189 saying that they wanted my attorney information because they were going to have me arrested,  After calling back numerous times i contacted my attorney and he informed me that it was probably a scam and this morning  i got  a call from the number 9176395580  stating the same SCAM from last week. Who are these idiots and why don't they get real jobs!!!

I received a phone call stating that i owed a payday loan from 2011 us cash america. They stated they were with a law firm and i would need a lawyer because the cops were going to call my house or my job and arrest me. I was told if i did not pay them they would take me to court and sue me for 10,000. I told them i never gotten a payday loan from that company and the said they would see me in court and hung up on me. I got really scared i called back and asked if i could make payment arrangements they told me no when i asked to speak to a supervisor the man told me no that it would not help me and he was not going to do that. I kept on insisting and finally i was put on hold. They eventually hung up on me and i called back again this time the guy told me they were going to block my social security number. I said i would make a payment to put the supervisor on the phone the guy told me cursing that they were a business and did not want my fing minumum payment that i  have to pay 250 pr go to jail he alongside  proposition me for sex and said he would give 3000 thousand dollars for one night i told him off and hung up. I called my lawyer aNd my lawyer contacted  them they were very nice to him my lawyer explained that i has recorded our conversation and if they called me again they would be sued. Do not let these people fool you they are very convincing the guy that called was named jullian white and it sounded like a call center. I could hear other conversations in the background. They had like a very heavy indian accent. Do not send them money ,confirm your personal information, or Western union anyone money never.
