They are phishing for your credit card number, offering to improve your interest rates. Just another scam attempt
ctguy 2011-06-06 21:07:12 Unknown
They called at 2:03pm today and left a loud, female voice on my answering machine about my credit cards and that I had a limited time to cut my interest rates.
CTGAL 2011-06-06 21:07:12 Unknown
GOT A CALL AT 2:10PM FROM FEM ROBOT TELLING ME THAT MY CREDIT
CARD INTEREST RATE COULD BE LOWERED. I, NOT KNOWING WHICH
CREDIT CARD THIS MORON WAS REFERRING TO, I HIT NO.1 WHEN
PROMPTED TO DO SO, ONLY TO BE LEFT WITH A CONSTANT RINGING
AND NO ONE EVER PICKED UP. OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T EXIST IN
THE REAL WORLD OR SOMEONE WOULD HAVE PICKED UP. SCAM AGAIN.

Caller ID said "SERVICE MESSAGE". Left no message.

I rec'd a call about 1pm 12-28-10, the msg started mid-stream and offered to lower my interest rates, since I didn't get to hear the beginning I had no idea it was for a credit card until I read these posts here.
I cld them back from work to try and get off their do not call list by pressing "1". Once I did that I was hung up on.

Robocalls like this need to be reported to the FTC! They violate the National Do Not Call list & it's easy to file an online complaint. The live rep I was transferred to (Kelly) said she was in a huge call center in Orlando. Gave the address as4286 Quadrangle Dr/Orlando/FL/32806.
Report these scumbags to the FTC!
Do NOT give them any personal information!

Complain all you want, it will do no good since these scammers are all offshore. They keep doing it because it's worth their while - and it will always be worth their while as long as idiots keep falling for their con games.
Concerned 2011-06-06 21:07:12 Unknown
You are so right. But how is someone to know when a call is a scam or not, especially the first time call?
wg 2011-06-06 21:07:12 Unknown
Called and left message to lower interest rates. I figured it was a scam so I didnot return the call.
Catherine Hoover 2011-06-06 21:07:12 Unknown
sounds like a great deal to lower my interest rates on credit cards, but when I began to question why they would voluntarily lower my interest rates when my own CC would not do it for me, ...
she hung up on me.

How do you stop these phone calls????
Phanny 2010-12-29 21:00:05 Debt Collector
I think this is a debt collector, but the recorded message says only that they want to lower my interest rate. The caller ID says only "service message." I did not answer but listened to the message on the voice mail.

Received a phone call from 918 442 0313 at 11:30 AM on December 29, 2010. It was a prerecorded message saying: "This is your final chance to reduce your credit".
This is the third call I've received in the past three months.
At the end of the message, there are two options to select from: "Press 9 to be taken off the call list" (this I have done twice before); "Press 1 to speak with a representative" (I pressed 1).
A lady answered: "Are you ready to reduce your credit today?".
I said: good morning - She said nothing.
I asked: What company is this? -She hung up without a word.

Called 12-23-2010 @ 10:39 and 12-28-2010 @ 11:34. Left no message on perfectly working recorder. Not worth my time, either.

Received the same call today. Had one about 2 weeks ago. If you want to complain, as I just did, do so with the FCC (not the FTC), here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Don't forget to put your number on the Do Not Call Registry:

Credit card interest reduction offer. press 9 speak to someone so I did. This call came immediately after a call from Oklahoma City (404-895-5538) which said press 2 to stop further calls. So I pressed 9 and spoke to an apoligetic young man who gave me a number to call (401-285-0700) to be permanently removed from the list. He said he was sorry and that he was being paid $7.50/hr to reduce peoples interest rates. Well that guy turned out to be a ball-less jerk, the number is a prank on how to keep an idiot in suspense. I wonder how such a liar can tell his own mother what one does for a living? I'd love to show him how to make an honest decent living and then break his nose!

Now they are calling my cell phone.

Received two calls from this number claiming there is nothing wrong with my credit card but I need to call to lower my interest rate. Since I have only one credit card and it's not issued in Oklahoma, I'm blocking all further call from this number. Also called back and tried the Do Not Call option.

Received the recorded message but hung up before they finished the call. I am on the DNC list and I live in Texas.................... Will not answer any other of their calls thanks to caller ID,

Pre-recorded message says they want to lower my interest rate on a credit card. It's a telemarketer or spam call because it came through on my home office number. I dialed "1" to speak to a customer service rep, expecting to get a 'ESL' helper but it rang off the hook and said no one was available to take my call.
I dialed the number back directly and there was an option to removed from their calling list. I did so...we'll see if it works.
