Just got a call from "Tim Wagner" DEA in San Jose, CA. Stating the same that everyone else was told. I'm glad I found these post. I thought I was in trouble for something I did 5+ years ago. Geeze. I thought it was odd because he mispronounced my first name.

Just received a call this morning from 804.859.0190 ext 1114 (special agent John Maclezy). Same story but took it to a whole new level.  There is a warrant out for my arrest in the dominican republic, no one knows about this yet and they would hate to come to my place of business and arrest me. I asked where are they coming to get me, an address I had 5+ years ago.  I told him to send an agent.  Then he hung up on me.  So, I called him back.  Asked why he hung up, he said just doing job. I asked for Judge Weinberg's number (he talked to while I was on hold, to tell me the 26K fine I needed to pay would be dropped to 10% of that since I have never been in trouble $1800.00. I pointed out that the amount is not 10% / 2600.00 would be) in the DR so I could contact him directly.  He gave me 809.719.9071.  If this is the DR why not give me an international number.  REALLY!

OMG That whole thing was super scary. They told me that they were with customs and had a warrant and that I had been indicted. For a purchase over 5 yrs ago. At the time I had a valid prescription for the medication ordered and had no idea it even came from overseas until I received the package with a bunch of Indian stamps on it. I was worried about the medication as it didn't seem right and threw it out and just chalked the whole thing up to an expensive mistake. The guy told me they were lacing the medications with cocaine to keep people hooked. WTF? Our pharmacutical industry does a good enough job of that without cocaine. And why would they use cocaine anyway, it's expensive? So that was a red flag. Then he made the mistake of mentioning the CPL9 Program, which I immediately googled and found this site. He told me the option was to end the call and the police would be at my business immediately with a warrant and it would be very embarrassing for me. Or I could pay the fine which was initially $1500. At that point I asked him for the paperwork supporting this, he said I would soon find out how real this was. The whole thing didn't add up for me so I told him to call the cops and hung up. Then I called the cops and they said it sounded like a scam to them and they are on their way down here now to take my statement, not take me away in cuffs! Do NOT give these people money.

A guy calling himself Jeff Turner called one of my clients from this number. Client wisely called me. I called Mr. Turner. He told me my client had been ordering prescription drugs over the internet without a proper prescription after a face to face visit with a physician. He said there was a warrant for client's arrest. I asked him what branch of federal law enforcement was he with.  He said the DEA.  I asked what law client had violated.  He said "CPL 9."  I thought the guy sounded a bit strange for a federal agent, but they come in all types.  He then told me about a "Gateway Program" which involved him "talking with my D.A. and getting the charges dismissed with payment of a fine."  I asked if there was a U.S. Attorney involved.  He said he could not divulge that information. I asked where the warrant originated, he said in Delaware.  In thinking back about the conversation, he screwed up several times: 1) a "D.A." is a State District Attorney, not a federal lawyer.  Sometimes federal agents will work with local, State prosecutors, but if there is a federal warrant out there, most likely there is a federal prosecutor involved too.  2) He also is fully at liberty to tell me who is the Assistant U.S. Attorney overseeing the case (if it was real), so saying he was not allowed to tell me who the attorney was sent another strong signal.  3)  The federal government does not prosecute people, ask a Court for an arrest warrant, and then agree to dismiss the case for the person's acceptance into a "Gateway Program," and still demand a fine.

I got off the phone telling "Agent Jeff Turner" my client would be calling him back on a three way with me on the phone as well.  He said several times it was"urgent" that my client call him right away.  I must say the guy was good.  He had me going for a bit.  I have been dealing with federal agents for nearly 25 years of criminal defense practice, and I did not catch it right away.  I sat there after I hung up, thinking how strange he had sounded and that things were not adding up.  I started looking for this "CPL 9" law he had quoted.  That is show I found this site. Then it all fell into place that he was a scammer.  Crazy what they'll think up.

Prank Call
First of all this is a prank call. if this was truly the DEA  they would have sent a formal letter and contacted the local authorities in your area to handle that jurisdiction.. I have  gone to my police department here and gave them the info and they advised me to  ingore the calls and i have contacted the local media to let them know this is a scam. And as the  "Agent" indicated that the attorney Generals office was aware of this pending warrent.. that was also bogus. According to my Attoneys Generals office this is a SCAM..

Event Reminder
actually these gentlemens are doing what most people dont understand as far as a drug enforcement agency figure they are straighting out the complication reguarding those who are victamise by illegal online or over tele marketing pharmacy companies who promise clients who dont have an idea of the dea/fda laws and violations guidelines so when they recieve a call from the dea and they panic they actually go into denial but these guys arent out to ruin or put someone in prison they are gathering enough info to build a stronger case on the matter at hand now you can say what you want but I comply n cooperated and I avoided going to federal prison by paying a small fine to the customes dept of united states and the charges that were brought up were dismissed and I recieve my dismissal documents n notification letter the following days. and the perps responsible are brout to justice...
