I also got a couple of calls from this number today. since they did not leave a message, I treat them as an unsolicited caller and so I blocked him in my phone.

This number beeped me while on another call, then when I tried calling back it played a recording that "All circuits are busy now, try again later."

Im sure this recording was NOT a phone company recording.  All my other calls are going through fine, many to numbers in the 919 area code. The phone company needs to chase these people down that are making people thing the phone company has something wrong.

You are correct, I have gotten someone at the other line before and it is the News and Observer in Raleigh, NC asking if they can renew a subscription.  I called their customer service line at (800) 522-4205 and asked to be put on their do not call list.

this number keeping calling me and there is no answer when I answer.

Received several calls over 3 day period of time.  No one on the line.

They called again tonight....guess what??? There was someone there!!!! It was the News and Observer (Raleigh newspaper).
In this case, I'm guessing that what happens is the computer is dialing people's numbers for the News and Observer to call to solicit newspaper subscriptions...people aren't dialing our numbers, so what happens is, there may not be a person to talk to us when the computer dials it...they may all already be on the lines with other customers....
Still, very annoying, but still, an explanation.

phone number (919) 747-4975  calls my home randomly. When I answer, no one is there...ever. Try to call the number back...it's either busy, says number has been disconnected, and so forth.

Same here. Twice, got a call from this number since morning and the call even doesn't go though when you call back this number. Very strange!!

this number has been calling for three weeks straight at least 3 to 4 times a day, whoever it is doesnt say anything, leave a message or anything. Then when you call it back its busy.

Is there a way to stop the annoying calls from this number?

I received a call from this same number.  when returing the call a recording said the call did not go through, these types of calls are very annoying is there a way to stop this?

Yes, I received two phone calls from this number with the same results this morning.

Just received a call from same phone number, but when I called back, my phone dropped the call, phone didnt even dial the number, just said "Call droped"... dont know who this could be.

Answered said hello a few times and no one replied. I hung up called the number back to hear a recording via Verizon Wireless (my carrier) saying the number has either been changed, disconnected or no longer in service.
