| Sick of these calls 2014-06-24 19:58:51 Unknown |
Called Monday (June 23, 2014) 3 times, all from different numbers. Called each one, pressed option 2 to have my number removed, they still call! Called twice and spoke to a real person, told them I'm sick of getting these calls, asked for the 5th time to remove my number or I would report them. This is so annoying! And I have no clue how they got my cell number in the first place!

Fortunately, I decided to answer this call! I recently started filed the paperwork to start a non-profit organization. This call came from a Jordan Wescott, who was just following up to see if I had any questions about the process

That advice sounds great in theory, however, in case you have failed to notice, unfortunately you can no longer apply in person for ANY job ANYMORE, they request that one must submit a resume via online. Now that excludes the fact that you then are mandated to take assessments that are written by an individual with the intelligence of a pencil eraser! Further, due to the great economy, they also are requesting pictures, and illegally requesting demographics! To just get through such, is more than daunting! If for some reason you fallaciously believe one would not want to go out there and pound the pavement, actually meet a manager in person, preferably the hiring manager, shake their hand, be able to personally hand them your resume, fill out an application, and be allowed to follow-up with a thank you card, and be able to continue further follow-up if need be, then unfortunately you sir have been living in a bubble. Yes, once that was the American way, and trust me when I state I only dream of such days to return, but contrary to your snide and rather callous comment, those days are OVER! I reside in So. California, only possess three degrees, however, I do know individuals in all 50 that unfortunately are experiencing the same issue. And to add to the aforementioned, after spending so much time and dedication, the companies rarely, if ever, send a reply, or even let you know that they received anything! So before jumping to such false conclusions, please do some research. We sir are trying! And we too, would love to have such opportunities returned! God bless. I hope you never have to encounter such, I'd never wish it upon anyone!

You sound like an idiot making these assumptions. We're getting random calls so we must have been trying to get "fast" money. Right. Because thats the ONLY conclusion that makes sense. You can easily have your information tapped into by simply checking your email and failing to log out after a session. What a prick. Smarten up, you don't know everything and your assumptions aren't worth a dime.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for explaining this to the world!!!!!!! I've wished many many times that a 20/20 or 60 Minutes special could be done so this could be explained to ppl!!! Lol. The website SELLS your info ASAP! And to MORE THAN ONE COMPANY, up to 4-5. I didn't. Call it what you may, but the small print wording explains it & you agreed & filled it out. It IS deceptively done because most ppl do not read any "small print" & these site creators know that & get over for profit. The # calling you may look the same representing whatever site you were on when U requested it/was forced into requesting it, but may very well be 4-5 different companies calling you (the other person explained the different companies with similar names). If you hang up, the automatic dialer REcalls you 10 minutes later!!!!! Just say: ADD ME TO YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST. Please also know that when U request this info, by mistake or what have you, it goes AROUND the NATIONAL DNC LIST BECAUSE IT WAS DIRECTLY REQUESTED SO *PLEASE* BEWARE! We're just on the phone following up on what was requested: it's a job. One that sucks, but pays money. Most ppl do not mean to request it, understandable. I'm one who HAPPILY puts ppl on our Do Not Call list & have even looked up the National DNC call list # for them as well. I also wish the sites were not set up through job sites to prey on those who are desperately unemployed. Their spirits are crushed when they think it's a job calling & it's us, a telemarketer. I feel bad. Many ppl have Gov. supplied minute phones or their kid requested it doing a survey for a "free iPad" or some $7500 Visa card that's tempting & FAKE (phishing). It's a waste of my time calling & being cursed out when we're under pressure & miserable already -_- We ONLY WORK THERE FOR SURVIVAL. They pay a decent wage, were hiring & I have rent & bills to pay. Some ppl want the information & mean to request it. Most do not intend to. *Exhales* Hope these explanations of how the "System" works helped someone who does NOT need this free service on how to avoid our calls. We don't like the sh*t either! lol. Have a good day all!#VentSessionOver lol. One NY Telemarketer out ??

The WEBSITES send the information out to educational matching services. The agents who call you are more than likely doing a job they hate just to pay bills. You are called from an automatic dial-er. No one calls you directly. Take it up with the websites you all visit, be cause THEY are the ones sending your information out. The agents job is to follow up. They follow federal laws. It is lead generation. Sometimes multiple records can be created if you submit it through on different sites. AND there are several companies. I AM ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO CALL YOU. BUT I am one who will respect you and explain everything. I call 400 numbers a day weeding out who is actually interested. I get called a C**t, told to suck C**k, a b***h, the most disgusting things by the people I have to call on an automatic dial-er. We do not share your information unless its with the education institution that YOU verbally approve to contact you during the call. This is lead generation for colleges. I have helped many people who truly need it and at times listen to stories that break my heart from people struggling. Some of my co workers do not have class or respect but many of us do. And just like most of you looking for jobs and getting calls, we were in the same situation and took this telemarketing job just to survive. Business professionals who struggle in the horrid job market. SO remember we are just doing our jobs to support our families or until we can move on to a better job in our profession. ALSO there are several companies out there who call. Back to learn, college bound, education connection and so on also.

This company calls 3 times a day. I finally answer and they say they are calling because I requested information online. Yes i did.....to have stuff sent to me in the mail or email. Not talking to an admissions person right now, when I told them that I will probably look into it in about 6 MONTHS. NOT right now. I made it clear...but it wasn't CLEAR to them. They keep calling. IF they call your cell phone....DON'T answer then you won't get charged for the call. Don't use any minutes on these yahoo's.

I work for this company... We are not in Calif. There is.no way on earth u have been called more than 6 times.. ever.. we get you info on schools ur info comes to our individual offices. Then we call u... Instead of hanging up on people... Politely explain that you aren't interested. If.u say this there is no need.for u to shout behind that with take me off ur lust. U simply won't be called back. The other thing is the number for the company can be given by a representative... It's an 800 number the best way to reach the company

The same just happened to me - I had a day of submitting my resume to online sites for resume distribution. I am very careful not to place my personal contact information to phishing sites, but I guess some of the recruiting sites/agencies sell our info right away! Sad!
My phone number is on DO NOT CALL list, I also requested the person that called not to call me any more, and to take my phone number off their list. The third thing I did was to call back and press #2 after their outgoing message tells your options...
I hope they stop!
