This is an extortion scam. Follow the instructions given by the FBI in the following press release:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.

Got messages from 925-331-6002 took forever to get back through and got a man with very thick Indian accent stating I took a payday loan and did not pay back and I will be sued tomorrow so I best get an attorney.  Asked him what company he worked for and who I supposedly got a loan from because I have no loans told me to get an attorney and hung up on me.  Called back and finally got through again after several times only to get same guy named John Marshall who states he is in charge and I am a stupid person and what tell me any info on his company but he has my name, cell and work phone and email address.  I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and don't know what else to do but I am freaking out over this.

This same person called me a few months ago at my job, and because of it I was suspended from work. Now he is back to harrasing me, but this time on my cell. He says his name is Peter Brown, and he had a heavy accent. He has been calling from the number 925 331 6002 and he says that he is from a law firm and that I owe a pay day loan.

I recevied a call at my place of business from 925-331-6002.  John Marshall, with an Indian accent, stated he was from North Oakview Law Firm and that I had taken a $1000.00 cash advance that had never been paid.  When I asked him what was the name of the company I took the cash advance from, he started yelling.  He gave me the last 4 digits of my social security number and the last 4 digits of my checking account number.  I told him I never took a cash advance.  He said there were 3 warrants for my arrest against my social security number because of this and I should be at the courthouse on Friday.  This is a scam and these people are idiots, these are some really dumb crooks. I am a fraud investigator, and know for a fact there are no warrants against me.  Please do not give these crooks any information. I contacted the local Sheriff's department, the Better Business Bureau, the Sheriff's Department in Indigo CA, and the FTC.  I also called my uncle who works for the FBI.  I am so tired of these crooks attempting to scam Americans out of their money.  I pray that they are caught soon and prosecuted.

This company is a scam.  I received a call from them stating I borrowed $1000.00 USAA Cash advance and they were the legal company representing them.  The gentleman on the phone stated his name was John Marshall calling from North Oakview Law Firm in Indigo CA.  He had the last 4 digits of my social security number and the last four digits of my checking account number.  I have never borrowed $1000.00 from anyone cash advance company.  I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, Sheriff's office in Indigo CA, and the Sheriff's office in Jacksonville Florida.

Received at least 10 calls from this number today with the same story as above - that I had borrowed $300 back in November and now with fees I owed over $7000, but that I could settle if I wired them $503 today.  The caller was rude, gave no real information about the company, but said they were a law firm representing US Cash Advance.  Said I was being sued and that I would find out all the details "tomorrow" when I would be "served papers" about the court case.  They did know my full name, address, place of employment, bank, and checking account number.  I did notify my bank and also reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.

My best friend received calls from this number, telling her she was being sued for 'insidious email use' (who even uses the term 'insidious' anymore?), and that she was to be in court yesterday. He said his name was Walter from the Law and Invesigations department. He was difficult to understand and his accent sounded East Indian/Pakistani.  The scary part is that he had her personal physical address and phone number, and she hasn't lived in that place for very long at all.  Where are they getting that much information?

Phone number 925-331-6002 and 530-884-2918 indicating a "serious matter" to have my attorney call and threatened my security if I did not call back. Ends call with "we wish you good luck in this matter." What is odd about the 530-884-2918 number it rings to your cell phone as your own number.

Callers are not American speaking, yet leave names of David Smith and Peter Smith.

Like everyone else, indian accent.Claims that he sent me proof, etc., etc. Tells me that I should contact my HR department becuase they will garnish my wages, and if I don't pay almost $7000 that I will rot in jail (his words!) I said how much? He said around $7000. I said around $7000? No exact amount? He said No...What a croc of crap!!! I keep reporting to the feberal trade commission and the IRS. I never hear anything back from anyone, but I hope it is doing some good. Don't let them threaten you!! There is no such think a debtors jail and they cannot take anything out of your bank account unless you tell them. Your bank protects you against that in most states.

I'm getting calls on my cellphone for a girl named Lacy, which isn't close to my real name.  Since I don't recognize the number, I haven't been answering and let the calls go to voicemail.  However, I was at the hospital for a family emergency last week and was fed up and answered and told the barely English speaking guy that I was not Lacy and to place me on the do not call list.  Before I could even get the whole thing out, he had hung up.

All the messages say to call 925-331-6002.  The calls have come from:
646-834-628?, 925-331-6002, 217-398-9755, 607-767-0057, 732-722-1554, 732-645-1930

I just got a call from this number and subsequent voice mail and as Chrish says, this man had a very, very heavy accent and I could only understand fragments of what this man was trying to say.  I wish I knew what this was about, but since I couldn't understand him, I guess I will never know.

I received calls from 925-331-6002 stating I am being sued and an affidavit was sent to my home regarding a default on a loan from a cash advance.  I do not have a loan for a cash advance nor have I ever.  They also said they tried to pull money from my account?  I monitor my accounts everyday and I have not seen any such thing.  I believe this is a scam to get your banking information in order to SCAM you out of money...

He has a indian accent said to have my attourney or I to call him, Wishing me luck have received this call for over a year now. He tells me he will call my boss and tell them to garnish my wages, It is scary because they have my full social and my boss's number, Say's that if I don't pay the law will come and arrest me. The good thing is that I know it is a scam but these poor ederly people they scare them to death. I do understand the first time this had happened I was scared called the State Police asked if they had a warrent for my arrest but when they said it was for $500.00 for a pay Day Loan then I knew it was a scam as I have never got a pay Day Loan.. They have called from differant phone numbers over the past year and a half. And also I go on line and check the number and themn report it.. Can't understand hardly but say's from some Law Firm.

Received the call from 925-331-6002 at work.  Man with very heavy accent, had to keep asking him to repeat himself, took a while to even figure out what he was talking about. Initially asked to speak with someone named Dimibreau Sniper, told him no one by that name worked here.  Eventually said he was from the Law group department of a company called U.S. Press Advance and his name was Peter Brown.  Stated that someone used my name in regard to some type of loan and that I had to appear at the County Court tomorrow.  Asked him which county - he said he didn't know just that it was in California. When pressed for more specific information - he hung up.

I received several calls from this gentlemen as well as several different names, the first being John Carter, the second being Marc, a third Neil....and who knows what the rest were. He was very hard to understand. He claimed I was given a $300 payday which is against the law in Georgia but was being sued for $7,000, does that even make sense. He told me to have my lawyer contact him which is when I got irate, of course he hung up. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor where he simply changed his voice around and got right back on the phone. He said I should appear in court but then told me an officer would come to my home with a warrant.....I'm confused. I said I would sue him for harassment and in turn he tells me if I sue him, he will sue me for $10,000. Right. A law firm without a name? I doubt!
